The story behind Inolvidable is as fascinating and charming as the music itself. The 82-year-old conguero Candido Camero lured 88-year-old vocalist Graciela out of retirement for this project, despite the fact that she was nearly crippled by arthritis. Graciela was a leader in the Afro-Cuban jazz genre for half a century, having been the lead vocalist for both Machito and his Jazz Orchestra and Mario Bauza's band. Inspired by Candido's energy, Graciela positively soars throughout Inolvidable, which tickles the senses with a smorgasbord of sounds, styles and flavors. Age has worn some on Graciela's golden voice, but both artists are in fine form here. Candido's percussion--and the rest of the instrumentation--is easy and unforced. And Graciela's confident, authoritative vocal style is simply unmatched in the genre. Both artists glide and flutter effortlessly throughout the material, making Inolvidable a surprisingly sweet musical treat. --Joey Guerra

    The beautiful guitar work at the beginning of Algo Contigo sets the tone for the entire CD...romantic and nostalgic boleros sung as only Los Panchos could sing them, updated with lush orchestral arrangements and the voice of El Puma, too! This latest tribute is a fine companion to volumes I and II, and features some especially good guitar passages (in Ansiedad, for example, there's some really deft fingering). From the serenity of Sabras Que Te Quiero to the bounciness of Espinita, each track showcases the great harmony of a great trio, and the new arrangements make the songs that much more beautiful. Because of El Puma's labor of love, the music of Los Panchos will enchant a whole new generation. Gracias!

    If you loved volumes 1 & 2, you will ADORE this latest in the series. El Puma has kept the Panchos legacy alive and well. These heartfelt love songs are given a beautiful new orchestral treatment, with superb guitar work, especially on Algo Contigo and Ansiedad. Thanks to José Luis Rodriguez, a whole new generation can now discover the magic that was, and will always be, Trio Los Panchos. Bravo!

        AGAIN I AM FORCED TO GIVE 1 STAR DUE TO THERE BEING NO 0 STAR OPTION. I had to come back and say that Jose Luis Rodriguez sold out even more to make a buck and use these songs to give a boost to his pretty much DEAD CAREER. At least on this disc, the computer manipulation of the original vocals is more flowing, but still not quite the same as the original recording. Another vain, dry attempt to give live to something that is not there. If you want to hear these songs, there are dozens of CD's made that are wonderfully remastered and have all the original heart and soul of the orginal recording from the middle of the 20th Century. That is all, buy original, keep away from this crap.

        Great work! My parents listened to this music when I was a child and now I have come full circle. I have the previous album (Inolvidable I) and it is just as good. This music has class and it reminds you of an era gone by. Everyone that listens to my CD always wants the name so that they can buy it. Keep up the good work Jose Luis. Thank you.

        This is a truly, truly gorgeous cd. While countless BVSC cd's, and all of their offspring are pushed upon us - and I'll be the first to admit they *are* fantastic in their own right - out comes this little sleeper on the tiny Chesky label. And what a tremendous offering it is. Beautiful and flowing from start to finish, it truly presents the beauty that is Cuban son and its derivatives in a majestic form. Gorgeous singing by Graciela, tremendous playing by the legendary Candido - both reunited after having played together with Machito back in the day (someone else you should definitely check out). I don't know if I can find enough eloquent words to capture the beauty and majesty of this cd, but it's one you should not pass up and should get before it goes out of print as I'm sure it will. Get it and treasure it - it will bring you much, much happiness.

          I GIVE THIS ALBUM ONE STAR BECAUSE I AM FORCED TO AND CAN'T GIVE IT A 0!! As a fan of old music I have all of the original versions of these songs on Vinyl, CD, CASSETTE, and MP3 Format. The members of LOS PANCHOS that have passed away are spinning in their graves. These songs have no heart, Jose Luis Rodriguez is a singer that I do like but here he just totally sold out because no one was buying his albums. The original feeling and soul given to these songs by the Original Los Panchos is gone and Computer Manipulated. This is no different than George Lucas CGI'ing Yoda for Star Wars I, I wouldn't buy this album if my life depended on it. Do yourself a favor, get an original compilation of LOS PANCHOS and hear for yourself the ORIGINAL UNMANIPULATED to match J.L. Rodriguez's voice versions, you'll thank me later.... JR

          These are some of the most beautiful Latin songs ever written, and with the gorgeous sound of "El Puma" Jose Luis Rodriguez and the legendary Los Panchos performing them, this CD is a treasure. El Puma's voice, so smooth and manly, is perfect for this collection. These are songs I grew up with, and in all my life have never heard them so exquisitely done. Favorites are "Perdon", "Sin un Amor" and "Toda una Vida". If you like romantic Latin music, you'll love this CD. It's a classic, and I'm thrilled that after all these years of wonderful singing, El Puma has done his absolute best recording.

          This record features "Jose Luis Rodriguez" (El Puma) together with "Los Panchos", who are already famous for this type of music. This CD is basically a workover of many classic boleros written earlier this century. It is absolutely wonderful stuff, these songs are just so beautiful and here they are rerecorded with El Puma's great voice and the highest quality recording equipment.

          If you like latin music, this CD should be part of your collection.
