Kool and the Gang's premier trumpet player, Larry Gittens, steps out on his own to bring to the world of music his style of song writing. This outstanding smooth jazz collection is beautifully composed and performed with excellent talents. Playing this CD gives one a most wonderful feeling.

This is refreshingly smooth jazz that ranks as the best I've heard this year. Larry Gittens was a trumpet player for Kool & the Gang, and you can see how he influenced the smooth jazz oriented compositions of Kool & the Gang from the early '70s. Tract number 2, "Let Me Love You" is so smooth, I found myself playing it for two hours straight, and never tired of it. The horn is so smooth so cool, it makes you feel good about life and music. There are even some brazilian oriented grooves on this CD with good singing. Its really has a cutting edge, avant garde sound. Its the kind of music that makes you want to blow up all the radio stations for not even playing it. No wonder CD sales are down; people don't know what to buy because they don't have an opportunity to hear good, new music. Buy this CD at all cost.

Larry Gittens and Media capture a freshness in their music. This CD transcends categorization and comes under the heading of "good music". It is great to see that extremely talented musicians still get together and exude personality. I truly hope there is more to come!
