About the Artist
Born and raised in Akron, Ohio, Lino graduated college with two degrees (History and Pre-Med.) from Miami University of Ohio. But Lino's calling has always been to compose and perform music, so after college he moved to Los Angeles to do what he loves most.

Lino began studying guitar at the age of nine with classical master, George Bachmann. During his high school years, he was naturally drawn to rock music, although it never diverted him from his interest in classical. "I was very lucky to have been instructed in classical music before I ventured into the rock realm," Lino explains. "It made me a well-rounded musician and gave me a lot to draw from as a composer later on. I learned to appreciate all styles of music, instead of just focusing on one particular genre." This is evident in Lino's incredibly unique and versatile layering of guitars in combination with other instruments and his bold blending of musical styles. And it's what makes his music so distinct.

"This style of music is very personal and exciting for me because it is the most honest music I have ever recorded. I don't try to accommodate the latest trends in a particular musical style or write music that would comfortably fit into a particular existing format," Lino explains.

In October, 2004, Lino's next release "Return to Avalon", will be released through DMI (Digital Musicworks International) and promises to be an exciting follow-up to Satin Blue. Return to Avalon is more up-tempo, while maintaining his exceptionally unique style. Both CDs boast the same unique qualities...not exclusively jazz, classical, folk, pop or new age, but a provocative blend of all of these influences combined with unforgettable melodic passages that take the listener on a different journey with each and every song. We call it Lino Music.

Lino Music is a departure from his previous rock recordings, which include Seven Skys, a pop/rock project (Zero Records, released in Asia, 1996); 88 Crash , a heavy modern rock album (MTM Metal, released in Europe, summer, 2001), and his most recent rock project, V33, a raw mix of modern, industrial and techno rock.

But it was Lino's smooth instrumental music that captured the attention and the passion of Splash Entertainment's president, Sharon Grant. She explains, "When I heard Lino's demo, I thought this is the freshest, most unique, diverse and compelling music I have ever heard come out of a single artist. When Lino performs live, he just rocks the audience with this amazing music - I watch people of all types and ages and get pulled in...everybody loves it. I couldn't resist getting involved as his manager."

5 out of 5 stars Lino the Virtuoso.......2005-01-30

I highly recommend Lino's "Return to Avalon." This cd...like the magical place "Avalon" is very mystical. Lino creates landscape art with his music. The melody of his songs are like color paints and his guitar is the paintbrush. Lino is a virtuoso composer and guitar player. His music is something worth experiencing with your senses.

5 out of 5 stars Return to Avalon.......2004-11-30

Lino continues to surprise me when I listen to his music. He has the daring of someone who loves music more than money! If he was just in it for the dollar, he'd keep to one genre, create a couple of great tracks in that genre, finish the album with filler tracks, find the right radio station and go for it. But Lino is more creative and expansive than that and gives us a real peak at his versatility in music. One moment his intricate finger work makes me think of some of the great nouveau flamenco players out there like Ottmar Liebert and Armik and Jesse Cook. Then I listen and realize he has more classical sensibilities than most and his music is rooted with that great sense of composition. Then I listen and hear riffs the likes of Craig Chaquico and Bryan Hughes and Peter White might offer -- and I see that William Aura of 3rd Force worked on a couple of tracks with Lino. What I like most is the great range and multiple flavors of this album. I have an online catalog called EvolutionCatalog.com and feature a number of the smooth jazz and new age artists. I have customers that called up the minute they got the catalog and saw Lino's CD and said things like "I've been waiting for this for two years since I bought Satin Blue!" or "I can't get enough of his playing" or "Send me 5 - I'm buying them for Christmas presents!"

One thing for sure -- he is genre defying, original, and remarkable. Just go see him in person when you have a chance -- personable, accessible, kind, and not to mention gorgeous to look at! We wish Lino the best with his new album. Buy it -- you won't regret it!

I have all of Lino's CD's and I love every one! Having heard him perform live, I am always thrilled to share his artistry within the peaceful treatment rooms at my spa. I highly recommend all of Lino's music, and if you can, see him live. You will feel how passionate he is about his music.

5 out of 5 stars Lino is Inspirational.......2004-11-24

Lino's music is soothing and inspirational. Rarely do you find a talent such as his without the hype of the hollywood glitz. I know you will enjoy his music as much as I.
Happy listening.....

5 out of 5 stars Jazz it up!.......2004-11-23

I'm jazzed I got turned on to this album by my family, its an understatement to say theres nothing like it out there right now, an awesome blend of upbeat jazz with moody spanish guitar and a plethora of other instruments that layer together to create a whole 3d world of sound. ill usually listen to it when i'm working on something, it keeps my mind grounded and keeps me moving in rhythm. you can definately hear Lino's rock influence in the music, as it is not your standard boring modern jazz/classical etc. give it a try, its a great album to have for the holidays, i know for a fact my family will be playing it during our Thanksgiving and Christmas get togethers! bon apetit!

4 out of 5 stars Back to A.O.R!!.......2004-12-14

The last three releases with Ten has been a disappointment for most of their fans. Even though I think "B.A.B.Y.L.O.N" has it's moments my interest in the band has been nothing at all the last years, sadly I must say.

I read about this one in a magazine giving it a poor review but you know what? I don't think he ever heard the record, because this is nothing more or less Ten back in action with that great AOR-vibe the first two albums had. If you're into Tens early period, Dares "Out of the silence" or just great melodic rock you should look this one up! It's great, welcome back Gary Hughes!
