bernie gets that 80's flava goin strong! favs;"volunteered slavery" and "beware of dog"!(the latter has keyboards that would've fit PERFECTLY on a p-funk or talking heads album!)

Great CD.......2001-05-23
Jennie opened for Yes in Indy last year. I never heard of her but by the time she ended her set, I purchased both of her CD's. It was refreshing to hear something completely different in her rock/blues sound. I'm very surprised she doesn't get more airtime from the area stations. The funny thing was, she was the only thing good to come out of the Yes concert. I walked out on them 25 years ago and was glad I was turned on to Jennie before walking out on them again. You won't be disappointed.

Jennie has been blessed with one of the best voices I've ever heard. She stands alone and that makes her incredible. Sick of stuff that all sounds the same? Try Jennie, she's got her own sound. Blues, funk, rock, contemporary, any of the above. She just jams. You can relate to her lyrics, not to mention dance and sing to them. The music was done by first class musicians with an excellent new style that shows they are very talented. You won't be disappointed.

No matter what you like or don't like, you will LOVE this CD. Jennie & the band give you the feel & emotion to want to get up & jam with them. They are a down to earth, real people band who put their God given talent in the heart of their music to totally swoon their audience. This is a CD that I will NEVER give up. I wish I could buy it for the world! Everyone would enjoy it. Every song has its own sense of soul & uniqueness. I've seen the band many,many times & never want them to stop singing. It's the kind of music that gets under your skin & tells your feet to move to the seduction of the music. I can't sit still when I hear this music. Enough said, buy it. Big mistake if you don't!

When I first heard this album, I immediately thought of Melissa Etheridge's early work. The same voice type, the same raw, honest lyrics. But the more I listen to the CD, the more I realize that Jenny Devoe is a true original, and this CD has become one of my favorites that I listen to all the time.

I've seen Jennie DeVoe several times around town, have her cd, and have seen her overalls at American Bandstand. Does She Walk On Water is nothing but great music. Every song fits a mood or relationship. Can truly identify with what she sings. So looking forward to the next cd!

they're selling it for only a few bucks used!!! if you dig bernie you need to get it,that simple! think funky 80's tunes with awesome guest spots from bootsy,keith richards,david byrne and a few others! it's waaaay cool!

The Best Bernie Worrell Album.......2006-03-28
This Album gets better and better the more times you listen to it, Bernie Worrell just gets it funkin on the clavinet on songs like funkaholics and y-spy, then you have the three songs that are kinda similiar cuz they're all in the same key(beware of dog, straight ahead, and the my favorite "DONT PISS ME OFF!" Bootys, Herbie, and best of all Keith are all on this album. So Buy this album if you wanta to hear something brilliant and funky. Bernie Worrell is one bad asssz muthafunker

okay to like this you must love p-funk bernie continues spreadind his woo wizardry on this underrated classic, half of this will remind you of the new jack swing style but tracks like dream on chanfes that plus bernie remenisces about his maggot brain days in the rocker bewware of dog, and don't (...) me off is what hardcore funkadelic fans plus fans of bernie wanna hear.
