A fresh approach.......2006-12-08
This set is a example of how BIG a sound can be obtained within a trio format. For instance the reworking of 'I Didn't Know What Time It Was' and
'I Concentrate On You' are exemplary testimonials to the possibilities of taking the core of a given standard and re-working it.The arranging,
creative ideas, added sections, and reharmonizations make this set a real joy to listen to.Fantastic stuff. This platform has set the stage for many future recordings. And Tamir, where have you been hiding. The possibilities are endless.God bless.Health and Happiness.

Jeff Hamilton Trio--Best Things Happen........2006-09-02
I found this by accident--what luck!!! I was looking for a vocal rendition of "Poinciana," and this Jeff Hamilton CD came up. Everything I have with drummer Hamilton is very classy, and the tracks listed appealed to me, so I took a chance on it. You win some, you lose some. What a winner this is! Terrific pianist in Tamir Hendelman, who was previously unknown to me. Of course, no vocal of Poinciana, but a stunning arrangement, as one comes to expect of Hamilton from his LA4 days. I guess you would call this jazz, but it is in fact just plain amazing, attention-grabbing listening. The arrangements preserve the integrity of the great melodies included, yet the artists' originality is always evident. Hendelman is a revelation. His solos are gorgeous, and manage to stay in the mood of the songs while bending them this way and that. One of the luckiest finds ever!!!
Once Again...Under-rated!.......2006-06-18
When are the so-called reviewers going to learn that they have to perpetuate the jazz idiom instead of compromising it. This is a sterling example of one of those albums that should be a five star album. However, the reviewers are always negligent in awarding this accolade because of some hidden itinery or agenda. Hamilton has learned a lot about formulating a trio from his days with Ray Brown. The first thing that hit me was..."oh my gosh, the Ray Brown Trio re-incarnated." Upon further listening, this is not the case. With a deep bow to Brown, Hamilton makes this his own trio. Hendelmen, deserves a ton of accolades. He is a refreshing new sound on the scene bringing new insight into the performed fare. Luty is the glue that binds this group tightly together. Luty has a big sound! Loved the entire album and loved the way Hamilton builds the album (as a whole) to a crescendo. Jeffery, you "has" learned well!
Good stuff..........2006-05-27
This is a highly listenable, mainstream jazz outing, often swinging in a similar vein as Jeff's work with Ray Brown/Gene Harris, but without Gene's unmistakable drive. Although hugely enjoyable and I'm reluctant to critisize, it seemed to me that all players had something in reserve and if they could have just tweaked things up a notch this album would've been outstanding. Still a five star album though, that deserves to be better known.
Everything You Want From Jeff.......2006-02-24
I bought this because the recordings Jeff made with the Ray Brown trio are some of my all time favorites, and I got everything I was looking for. Perhaps the most musical drummer alive, Jeff Hamilton goes far, far beyond the usual requirements of a percussionist to swing, keep time and support the piano player. This disc is crammed with hard swinging, tightly arranged pieces and drumming so inspired it'll make you giggle like a kid.

Product Description
Incredible rare collection of ALL original recordings featuring Dickey Lee. Beautifully mastered, these original recordings sound better than any other Dickey Lee CD on the market today.
In 1962, Patches became a million seller. One of the "teenage disaster" songs which were popular at the time, it reached the pop top ten. Dickey Lee followed it with I Saw Linda Yesterday the same year and the cryptic Laurie (Strange Things Happen) in 1965. These three records would pave the way for a 40 year career for the soulful country singer.
Dickey Lee had his greatest success as a country artist. His list of top 10 hits include Rocky, 9,999,999 Tears, Never Ending Song of Love and Angel, Roses and Rain. His gift for song writing and performing has endured as Dickey Lee continues to perform and write for other artists.

I love this cd, it is the best!!! I would recommend it highly if your into the 60's era.
this is one of the best CDs.......2006-02-07
this is one of the best Dickey Lee CDs I have heard. this one has most of his big hits. the only one missing is "Red, Green Yellow and Blue" an APCO 45 he had out around 1967/68. all the hits that are here, are the best recordings I have heard on a CD of Dickey Lee. I am most pleased with this CD. Keep up the good work. it is good to see a good recording of Dickey Lee hits.
Dickey Lee: Great 70's country hits!.......2006-02-06
I wish this CD had better availability, as it has great Dickey Lee songs that are virtually lost otherwise. This is the only CD I've found with "Angels, Roses and Rain " on it. That and "9,999,999 Tears to Go" are great memories of 70's country gold that deserve preservation. Some wonderful memories on this CD...I'll probably go ahead and buy it used before it's gone!

Album Description
One of Child Magazine's "best kid's CDs of the year." Parents Choice Gold Award Winner Great for the car. Great for the home. Great for the classroom. The earthworms have gone underground/The ladybugs don't make a sound./I've got one on my hand and she's not afraid/I'll just sing to her while I sit here in the shade. The first track on guitarist Jamie Barnett's album, "In the Shade," an evocative celebration of late summer, sets the tone for this open-hearted and beautifully crafted observance of childhood's memory-making simple pleasures.
"Two Frogs" is a guitar-strumming ode to friendship, while in "Nursery Medley," Barnett weaves familiar nursery rhymes into an exquisite musical tapestry.
He uses "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" as inspiration for a delightful "Walk in the Woods," and "Jack and the Beanstalk" becomes "Magic Beans," a lovely tale of a little boy's journey toward independence ("I'll tell my mother what I see/I'll show my mother/Just how brave a boy can be." )
Barnett's deeply felt vocals are further enhanced by the earnest sweetness of child singers who chime in throughout.
