Brian Auger First Made his Name Playing Hard Bop on the Early 60s London Jazz Scene Before Cathing the R&B Bug and Switching from Piano to Hammond Organ, Inspired by the Likes of Jimmy Smith, Booker T and Jimmy Mcgriff. As London Swung Through the Mid to Late 60s There was No Bigger Draw on the London Club Scene Than Auger his Bands Steampacket and the Brian Auger Trinity. It was with the Trinity and in Particular Julie Driscoll that He Really Struck Gold Recording Hits Such as 'wheel on Fire' and 'indian Rope Man'. As the 60s Drew to a Close Auger Felt the Need to Move on Again and a New Decade Led to a New Band - the Oblivion Express - and Through the Early 70s They Forged a New Jazz/Rock Sound that Laid the Foundations of Acid Jazz.
