Five years ago, Sylvain Luc was formally introduced to America through Duet, the masterful and beautiful guitar duo album with the phenomenal Biréli Lagrène. Luc has also worked with major artists such as Al Jarreau, Michel Legrand, Elvin Jones, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Francoise Hardy, John McLaughlin, Richard Galliano, among many others.
On Ambre, Luc ventures out solo to explore gentle moods and sensuous sounds, creating warm and beautiful landscapes rich with lyrical guitar lines and ethereal chord textures. He adds bass lines and percussions by recording in multi-track with multiple guitars: nylon, steel, and the rarely heard fretless guitar.
