The Ascentia M6300X from AST offers such nice features, as blazing processor, AGP support, and a strong lithium-ion battery. The M6300X's design is generally unremarkable. The outer case is very plain: open the unit and there's more of the same. The keyboard is plain, but offers good typing comfort. The wrist rest is sturdy, which is good because there is plenty going on there. In addition to the no-frills touch pad, the wrist rest also houses six LEDs (representing power, keyboard locks, drive access, and battery charge functions), a microphone, and the system speakers.
