Description
A Snoodle's Tale is the touching story of one small Snoodle who learns that the pictures that others paint of him don't matter at all because we are wonderfully and fearfully made. Inlcudes the all new hilarious retelling of the classic tale of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and also features Larry's new Silly Song: Sport Utility Vehicle.
Customer Reviews:
Such a cute show!.......2007-01-16
Anyone who likes Veggie Tales would like this episode. It contains a short story about based on Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hide with cool funk music. Then there is a sort of intermission with Larry's silly song, which is hilarious! It ends with the story of the Snoodle, which is very touching and that we can all relate to, both old and young. I highly recommend it to anyone that wants a feel-good show to watch!
Teaching self worth is important!.......2006-11-12
I purchased this movie because I thought the cover was cute, but I was very impressed with the outcome of this movie. My daughter loves Sly and Mr. Jiggles. We have not even had this movie a week yet, and we have watched it at the very least 15 times, if not more. I really can't say enough about this movie. I am 35 years old and I ended up crying at the end! WOW! Maybe because it was a message that I needed at this time myself. Buy it and watch it with your children and ENJOY!
Incredible.......2006-01-11
A Snoodle's Tale is the only Veggie episode that has made me cry. It's a blend of Dr. Suess narration and Max Lucado plot but VT pulls it off so beautifully that I was moved. But in true Veggie form, there's a lot of fun, quirky stuff on the CD as well. Dr. Jiggle made me giggle more than think. And Tom Hodge's take on SUV's is now my family's favorite Silly Song. Veggie Tales is right on track with this release.
Phil Visher is a genius!.......2005-10-20
This has got to be the best veggietales ever! And that is saying a lot because I have every single one out there. The story about Dr Jiggle and Mr Sly is so funny and cute and true of how we always want to look different than how we actually are and the music is well written as always but the real star of the DVD is the Snoodle's Tale.
A Snoodle's Tale is brilliant, mature and yet so simple. God loves us because He made us and He wants us to live with purpose is such an important message especially in the world we live in today. There is a line near the end which says "a gift that's demanded is no gift at all." So simple yet so profound!
We recommend Veggietales to all our friends - even the ones who don't have kids but we have sat a couple of them down and shown them this one because the message is so important and comes across so well.
I think every child needs a copy of this DVD and to be reassured by their parents that it is a true representation of what God wants for them in their lives ( And maybe a few parents will get the message as well!)
Do yourself a favour and buy this DVD today!
Green Eggs & Ham with Pancakes and noodles!.......2005-10-10
Included in this movie are two short films, the first is Dr. Jiggle and Mr. Sly (derived from Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde) and the other is A Snoodle's Tale that is Veggie Tales gone Dr. Seuss-style.
Both are cute films that focus on building self-esteem. In Dr. Jiggle and Mr. Sly - Jerry Gourd has this secret obsession to dance but he is overly conscience of his weight and is afraid others will point fun at him because he is too "jiggly". This is the reason he takes a potion to change himself into Mr. Sly - an anorexic looking gourd that dances to disco late at night. Whenever some of Dr. Jiggle's friends become concerned that he may be being held captive in his own house by Mr. Sly; it is soon revealed that Mr. Sly is in fact Dr. Jiggle. His friends help Dr. Jiggle be true to himself.
My absolute favorite Veggie Tales film to date is a Snoodle's Tale. In a Snoodle's Tale we are introduced to these funny little characters called Snoodles who love to eat pancakes with noodles! We are shown the life of one Snoodle in particular, Snoodle Doo who, like most of us, when we are young are full of amazement and wonder; and we tend to think that we are capable of doing anything - that is until others begin to tell us otherwise. Then we begin to question and doubt ourselves - sometimes other people make us feel bad about ourselves and when we sometimes think we did something great or neat - others will tell us we look foolish or silly.
Snoodle Doo is just like that - he has wings but when he tries to use them he flies just a tad off the ground and then falls and immediately other Snoodles surround him and laugh and draw him a picture of how silly he looked. He later comes across a beautiful plant and decides to draw it - but again other Snoodles surround him and laugh at his artwork and scorn him.
I liked this film so much because I could really relate to it - and I think most of us probably can. In this life, sometimes we will do things that we think are great accomplishments; but instead of being critiqued for improvement by our peers they insult us and knock us down. Which generally just makes us feel awful - and after a certain point I think it just causes people to give up or become really jaded in the long scheme of things - becoming like the very people who initially hurt their feelings.
But as shown in this film, there is only one approval we really need - God's. Through God's eyes we are special - He created us and He sees us from a different perspective than I see myself or how others view me. While I might not be the best at basketball - there are other things I am good at; we all have our own talents and skills and working together we can be productive. Admiring the abilities each of us have to offer and encouraging one another helps all of our esteems and even builds bridges and friendships.
Whenever I get in a sad mood because of things that are going on in my life at the moment - I sometimes pop in this movie and lifts my spirits and reminds me that it's God who I am suppose to be living for and not myself or others. I think you'll fall in love with Snoodle's Tale too!
