Description
An abused young man. A hair-trigger temper. A trail of dead bodies. What makes a cold-blooded killer tick? THE ICEMAN AND THE PSYCHIATRIST is now available for the first time on DVD. Renowned forensic psychologist Dr. Park Dietz gets up close, personal and even confrontational with psyche of one of the most dangerous men alive. Bringing together the earlier THE ICEMAN TAPES: CONVERSATIONS WITH A KILLER and THE ICEMAN: SECRETS OF A MAFIA HITMAN with the newly released Dietz interview, this new special edition, THE ICEMAN INTERVIEWS is the ultimate compendium of the mind of a murderer. Includes Richard "The Iceman" Kuklinski's riveting on-camera confession, exclusively for HBO, of the murder of police officer Peter Calabro. Making news in February 2003, Kuklinski accepted a plea bargain for a concurrent 30-year term to his 60-year prison sentence and implicated Sammy "The Bull" Gravano in the crime. THE ICEMAN INTERVIEWS - this new special edition is guaranteed to run chills up and down your spine all over again.

Iceman Is A Great Name For This Man.......2007-05-15
I have never seen such a cool customer - you really have to see this DVD to believe it.
The Hitman.......2007-05-08
Don't bother. Get the HBO DVD and call it good. This is just a poor repeat.
The Iceman Interviews.......2007-05-06
If you are a true crime addict, as I am, this interview will chill you to the very core. The Iceman was a stone-cold killer and this interview gives one insight into a mind without feeling. He did, however, show human emotion when speaking of his wife and children. A wonderfully well-crafted interview that should not be missed.

The Iceman is an appropriate title for this pair of HBO specials, because the words of former Mafia enforcer Richard Kuklinski will chill you to the bone. Speaking in the monotonous drone of a man who has numbed himself with remorseless brutality, Kuklinski was first interviewed in 1991, five years after receiving consecutive life sentences for multiple murders. Specializing in the tidy use of cyanide, Kuklinski lived a double life, like the fictional hitmen in The Sopranos and Road to Perdition, passing as a "businessman" and devoted husband and father. He describes numerous killings in graphic detail, expressing nearly tearful regret only when lamenting the deception of his family. A vicious product of child abuse, Kuklinski was visited again by HBO in 2001, but this shameless redundancy was an obvious attempt to capitalize on the Sopranos phenomenon. Fascinating as a firsthand record of Mafia killing, these otherwise unsavory interviews serve little purpose beyond morbid exploitation. --Jeff Shannon

The Iceman - Confessions of a Mafia Hitman.......2007-06-02
Truly frightening person brought into your home through video - a ruthless killer captured on tape as lessons to us all of what this world can breed.
iceman.......2007-05-14
i never received it and have already been charged for it. can you help me,
Interesting!!.......2007-05-13
It was really interestinf listening to this man talk about all the victims, besides you can create a profil of killers, noticing that when their parents ar mean an hit them a lot they can take a wrong way in wanting to take their anger on to other people.
Confession of a Mafia Hitman.......2007-05-08
This was amazing. Well worth getting and sharing. There are 3 interviews on this DVD - All startling, interesting, and thoughtful. You never really get what made the man but you get a cold sense of what's inside the guy. Careful..don't let the kids watch this. The crimes are just too intense for the kids.
The Iceman - Confessions of a Mafia Hitman.......2007-05-06
A wonderfully interesting interview with a man without a conscience who truly felt he was just doing a job. This interview was deeply involved with Richard Kuklinski's emotions, or lack thereof. An eye-opening interview if you are a crime afficiando. Those with a weak constitution may not want to view this cold-hearted killer talking about his life of crime.

Jason Robards burst onto the Broadway scene in 1956 with his performance in Eugene O'Neill's devastating Iceman Cometh, playing the central role of Hickey, a salesman who comes to a rundown bar on a mission to bring peace to its boozing denizens by lifting their illusions--only to wreak disaster on them and himself. Four years later, director Sidney Lumet (later to direct such classics as Dog Day Afternoon and Network) made this skillful television version of the play, bringing back Robards, along with a sterling collection of character actors (particularly Myron McCormick as a former communist who comes to see his reasonableness as a form of cowardice) and a young Robert Redford (in a strikingly unheroic role). Robards became famous for his roles in many O'Neill plays; his galvanizing performance drives The Iceman Cometh and makes this production one of the landmarks of television drama. --Bret Fetzer
Description
Jason Robards became an overnight star with his indelible performance as the glad-handing, doom-ridden Hickey in the legendary 1956 Circle-in-the-Square revival of Eugene O'Neill's towering masterpiece. In his harrowing drama, O'Neill shines a harsh but compassionate spotlight on the failed lives, empty hopes, and perpetual pipe dreams of an assortment of down-and-out denizens of a seedy saloon, set in New York in 1912. Their sad, but complacent existences are rattled when Hickey arrives for his annual bender a changed man--forswearing alcohol and preaching a deliverance from "the lie of the pipe dream."
Customer Reviews:
THE STUFF DREAMS ARE NOT MADE OF .......2007-06-20
The dreams of the very wretched of the earth are different from you and I. Or are they? This is the true subject matter of Eugene O'Neill fine play. Very little action, lots of drinking, lots of dreaming, lots philosophizing and in a low down gin mill to boot doesn't sound like the makings of a great American play. But, it is. This thing turns into a microcosm of American society in the early part of the 20th century. Between shots of whiskey and beer the denizens of this small work exhibit all the emotions, contradictions, fear of failure, fear of success, fear of life that the rest of us `normals' have to face. Except, for dramatic effect, those flophouse devotees get their noses rubbed in it by one Harry Hickey- traveling salesman, former chief denizen who now has got `religion' and wants to spread his newfound `glad tidings'. Spare us from the Hickeys of the world-a little dreaminess and a couple of illusions never hurt anyone. Did they? Although in O'Neill's hands the dialogue is a little stilted and the characters are a little stereotyped and wooden the point he is trying to make gets across just fine. This is a must read on your American drama list. Needless to say Jason Robards as elsewhere in O'Neill's work defines the role of Harry Hickey
Robards was incredible!!!!.......2006-07-21
I can't get enough of Hickey. O'Neill's "The Iceman Cometh" captures what all of us pipe dreamers know:'My pipe dream helps me face my reality. Please don't take it away. I might go nuts.' Poor Hickey didn't realize that getting rid of his pipe dream made him totally "bughouse". Jason Robards' manic portrayal was wrenching. His final scene gives me chills.
His portrayal of Jamie in "Long Day's Journey..." was also incredible. It brings tears to my eyes.
Robards' interpretation of the dispossessed strikes a cord deep within that you might find hard to listen to.
I wasn't around when he gave his performances of these two O'Neill plays in 1956-58 but I am so glad someone had the good sense to capture the "staged" production of "Iceman" on celuloid. If only "Long Day's journey..." were similarly captured.
A Great Version of a Great Play.......2006-02-01
Many people, including me, believe The Iceman Cometh is Eugene O'Neil's best play, even better than Long Day's Journey into Night. Iceman is one of the deepest dives into the American psyche ever put on stage. The bad news about the Broadway Theater Archive DVD (originally released as a teleplay by CBS in 1960) is that its production values are primitive. The good news is that this Sidney Lumet television version is based on Jose Quintero's definitive 1956 Broadway production. The best news is that Jason Robards reprises his Broadway role as Hickey.
The setting is Harry Hope's saloon, and the year is 1912. Harry's regulars, a diverse lot of misfits and failures, spend their days drinking and dreaming of the things they're going to do when they get right again. Into their midst bursts the drummer Hickey, right on time for his annual bender. But this year Hickey's different. He's not drinking; he's not making his usual jokes about finding his wife in bed with the iceman; and he's on a mission to help Harry's regulars wise up and let go of their pipe dreams.
Hickey uses his salesman's pep and charm to convince his old drinking buddies to pick up the burdens they set down in favor of gin-induced oblivion. The toughest nut for Hickey to crack is Larry, a former labor radical who claims to be sick of life and through with caring about other people. Larry has his own distraction. Don, the son of Larry's old girlfriend, has shown up bearing a load of guilt he wants Larry to help him carry. Larry's mask of indifference keeps slipping, and he keeps trying to push it back into place.
Over four mesmerizing acts we see what happens to Harry's little community when they cast off their illusions. We learn why Hickey's changed, and why it's so important to him that the others wise up, just like he has.
With one glaring exception, the large cast is excellent. Farrell Pelly as Harry Hope and Myron McCormack as Larry anchor the rolling chaos of the saloon. Tom Pedi as the bartender Rocky provides a rude energy that keeps things moving. Jason Robards lit up the theater world when he played Hickey on Broadway. His is the definitive portrayal, one of the great turns on the American stage. Hickey's final speech, about how he overcame his own pipe dreams, is worth the price of the DVD by itself. The glaring exception is Don, played by a very young Robert Redford. Don is a difficult part, a weak man who's done an unsavory thing, for whom we're supposed to feel pity. Redford just isn't up to it, which drags down this part of the plot.
O'Neil is showing us the American Century in embryo. Its bottom social layer was awhirl in vague dreams and murderous rages, filled with people fighting a desperate rear guard action against despair. O'Neil isn't judging here, simply trying to understand. His language and his compassion for these characters pin the play down in time and space. His insight that human illusions are both necessary and lethal give the play universal implications.
Iceman has been revived several times since this version aired. I'm not sure modern American actors can get to the emotional core of this play any more. For all of its criminality, all the boozing and profanity and violence, there's innocence in these characters, and a sweetness in the way they care for one another that's probably passed out of American life. Mid-century America still had it to some degree, which is why this is the version of Iceman you want to see.
Robards is amazing.......2005-09-11
Totally absorbing play. Saw it on Play of the Week in the early 60s and never forgot it. Robard's portrayal of Hickey is probably the best acting I have ever witnessed. The weakest acting in the play is from a very young Robert Redford who had not yet sufficiently developed his skills.
Black and white, grainy, grand theater!.......2004-08-11
I don't need to add superlatives to Robard's signature performance in the role of Hickey. Instead I want to mention a scene in Act 2 (first cassette of the vcr version) between Larry Slade (Myron McCormick) and Don Parrit (Robert Redford).
The bums are starting to gather for Harry's birthday, and Parrit makes his way to Larry's table, where he tells him of Hickey's hounding him. The camera is close on the two men at the table; Larry, suspecting the worst, does not want to listen as Parrit repeats what Hickey has been saying to him about guilt and admitting the truth. In the background, Cora, one of the 'tarts' is practicing "The Sweetheart Of Paradise Alley" to sing for Harry, in a sweet, halting voice.
It is an absloutely stunning scene, and Redford somehow makes it believable that he has remembered all that Hickey has said to him: "what did he mean by that, Larry?" he keeps asking McCormick, who can't bear to look him in the eye.
The play itself is embedded with such scenic images, where characters, and dialog, and setting, and antiphonal voices communicate the essence of longing or hope or dispair or delusion or faith or enmity -- the complete range of human emotion and experience. All of this realized in this production.
Another dimension that comes across in this production is the role of women in the lives of men. The three tarts in the play comically and pathetically balance three offstage women who haunt the play: Parrit's mother, Harry Hope's Bessy, and Hickey's Evelyn.

Customer Reviews:
the classic iced caveman film...........2007-07-03
...this has to be one of the best 'caveman' films ever made. it has dated in a few places - notably 'computer game' entertainment (but hey it is set in a base in antartica, maybe they're a bit behind!!) but otherwise it stands up very solidly. Fred Schepisi directs it incredibly well with awesum photography and pace. The real win is Hutton and Lone - their performances are (i think) the best of both their careers! John Lone's make up is on the Neandertal side of cro magnon but realistic and captivating, only enhancing an electric performance. Timothy Hutton is brilliant as the misunderstood anthropologist and the cast around them is outstanding.
Overall a great example of what to expect should we ever discover an iced caveman: scientific arguements, trivial executive powerplays, moral ethics vs medical ethics, privacy abuses, and political/social mindgames! very reminiscent of the situation with Otzi the 'real iceman' whos frozen body was found in the swiss/french Alps.
A thought provoking film that hits its target - i recommend for all interested in our paleo history and our regression as a forward thinking civilization. top marks.
Good Flick, worth the purchase!.......2007-03-12
Like many other reviewers, I saw this movie a long time ago, and remembered liking it. So for various reasons that I will not bore you with, I purchased it recently, and was not disappointed. Although the movie actually has less happening in it than I remember (meaning less events), it was surprisingly much more powerful, and much more heart-wrenchingly-sad for me this time around (or perhaps I got more sentimental as I have aged- gasp! ;-).
For many (but not all) people under 25 (the generation that I feel is mainly into special effects, and constant action (be it sexual or violent), and has less appreciation for good dialogue, acting, and plot), this movie may move too slow at times, have too little happening, and will consequently probably have them bored by the end of the movie. However if you are not in the category I mentioned above, and you have a heart that can actually feel empathy for others, and you like something that is thought provoking...If you like a film that will probably get you to reflect on modern and ancient humans, the evolution of religious beliefs, human psychology, human rights, and other deep topics, than this movie, (although it is by no means in the same league with movies like Casablanca) is a good film, and definitely worth the purchase! ...Compliments for the man who played the Iceman- great character acting!
A Good, Honest Film.......2006-12-14
I remember watching this movie somewhere back in the early 90s on free television, when I was around 12 ("Iceman" came out when I was only 3). I thoroughly enjoyed the film then, and, even as young as I was, I was able to comprehend the meaning of the film. When I grew older, I was elated to find the movie was released on DVD. It is in my top 10 movies of all time. This is not to say it is the best movie ever; it is just one of my personal favorites. "Iceman" doesn't care about fancy special effects or all the other traps that big-budget Hollywood movies are littered with. This is one of those films that you watch when you just want to relax and enjoy a good, honest movie with some substance and some good dialogue.
Despite a few plot holes here and there, this movie is about one thing: Mans introspective search for understanding our origins. Any movie that explores that in any capacity gets a nod from me.
True, you only get the movie on this release. There are no bonus features or menus of any kind, but I believe a review should be based mainly on how good the film is or isn't. With that said, let's hope they release a special version in the near future.
This DVD is in Pan & Scan not Widescreen.......2006-11-30
A very good story and movie. Ruined by releasing it in Pan & Scan. I ordered it but did not notice the
version was the chopped up "full screen" version. I won't even bother to send it back. It goes in the trash along
with any movie that is not in it's original, uncut, widescreen format. What a waste of a good movie.
iceman.......2006-03-10
very good movie to view and deals with alot of emotions on the treatment of a human being no mater what time period he came from. if you care for people and understand what the scientists were trying to do to help further science to help mankind.
you must remember a human being has rights in a modern society that has passed through alot of history of abuses of thouse rights. case point adolf hitler and the jewish people. there are always concequences for what society or one goverment thinks is for the betterment of man kind. this movie brings you to that point where it shows hes more human instead of a gini pig.

Customer Reviews:
Mike is right... where are the bonus fights?.......2007-05-19
First and foremost i want to say that i'm a huge Chuck Liddell fan.. .and it is very unchuck to whine about anything... However I think that the dvd could've gone in depth a little bit more and should have shown the full fights of liddell vs. Couture as advertised... I bought this dvd specifically because i thought i would be able to see the entire fight...
Jackson is not mentioned at all... but that is understandible because this is a Zuffa production and this dvd was made prior to the acquisition by the Fertitta brothers of the Pride organization... So I think for legal reasons when this dvd was made they couldn't include Chucks wantingness to fight Silva.. .and losing to Rampage in the Pride Ironman tournament...
Regardless... the lack of bonus material and the lack of full length UFC fights makes it hard to give the dvd a high rating... I mean the production paid for the rights of all these different songs for highlight reels and montages contained in the movie but they couldn't show complete fights??.. or go in depth a little more?? You can find additional stuff on youtube by searching around... The run time is exactly 1 hour... I think Chuck deserves a little more time then that.. and so do the rest of us for buying the dvd...
UFC Revisionism.......2007-05-18
Whoever produced this DVD, have you ever heard of Jackson?? The only person to have defeated Lidell, that Lidell has yet to defeat?? The DVD is somewhat informative, not totally entertaining. It says it has Couture 1,2 &3, but it is all edited fights and you only see about 90 seconds worth total of each fight, if that.
To reiterate, the DVD does not mention or show the Jackson fight. It leads you believing that Liddell is unquestionably undisputed. This is very very false. Did I miss something???/
I think Lidell is intelligent enough to believe that this DVD is BS, my question is is how much input did he have in production? Seriously, Liddell by simply not saying that a documented loss never happened, is on the same playing field as Ortiz evading a title fight with Liddell. What Ortiz does through his mouth, Liddell does through UFC promoters. C'mon Chuck, I'll KNOCK YOU OUT!!!
I love Lidell's family values and work ethic. Sorry Chuck. If you lose this week against Jackson, I won't feel sorry for you, because I spent $15 on a DVD about you that invents its own history.
Great documentary .......2007-05-04
This is a great documentary about Chuck Liddel. Talks about Chuck's childhood and emulation as a fighter from his first fight in the UFC where he was the guy "with an accounting degree" to the Light heavy-weight champion. The great thing about the DVD is that it deals with how Chuck deals with losses to a Legend such as Randy Couture and how he over came them, and it is refreshing to see how much respect the fighter have for each other as well with the exception if Tito Ortiz. I think Jason Horn put it best when he said "I did not beat the Chuck Liddell of today I beat the fighter he was 6 years ago". The only problem with this DVD is that it does not give you any bonus material at all, and just the highlights of the fights them selves. It would be nice the have a couple off the fights in there entirety. I mean you can fit more then an hour documentary on a DVD. In closing I would just like to say if you are a fan of Chuck Liddell or Randy Couture get this DVD.
Great documentary for new and old fans alike.......2007-04-03
This is a documentary about Chuck from his childhood to UFC 57 which was the third and final time he fought Couture. It is a very well done, 60 minute life story. It showed old home video clips of him and his brothers, how he got involved with The Pit, and overall into MMA. Once it got into the MMA portion of the story, it showed portions of his fights against Randleman, Vitor, Babalu, Horn twice, Tito, Couture all three times, and some earlier ones as well. These fight segments were very well integrated into the story. They also shoed details of how his feud with Tito began and evolved into what it is now. Definately a good watch, but I wouldn't pay more than 10 dollars for it, as it is only the documentary and not much else. As far as the packaging goes, it has a shiny cardboard slipcover that has raised print, a regualr case, an insert just like other UFC DVDs, and mine also came with two trading cards.
Parting thoughts:
This was a very well put together documentary, and they made it earn it's collector's edition label. My only complaints are that they didn't have the complete fights as supplemental material, and I think the $20 reccomended price is too high.

The Iceman Cometh.......2007-07-05
Star Lee Marvin delivers the goods in the demanding central role of Hickey, the loutish sermonizer who attempts to convince his fellow losers that admitting to being a failure is the only possible redemption. In the last role of a long and distinguished screen career, March also shines as the aptly named Harry Hope, a widower who numbs his grief with work. Still it's tough guy Ryan who gives the film's most towering performance as the dying, laconic intellectual Slade (Ryan was also terminally ill when the film was shot). Frankenheimer, normally a director of high-wire political thrillers, directs Eugene O'Neill's raw, devastating play with confidence and sympathy for the plight of his characters. Look for a very young Jeff Bridges as Parritt, Slade's tragic young friend.
A LITTLE DREAMING BETWEEN SHOTS.......2007-06-07
OUTSTANDING.......2007-05-14
GREAT PERFORMANCE. WHY THESE DVDS WITH MARVELLOUS STRAIGHT PLAYS FROM THE THEATRE ARE NOT PUBLISHED WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES? I THINK I KNOW THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE A LITTLE, BUT SUBTITLES MAY HELP! INDEED.
History has proven the truth has no bearing upon anything....a great play and a great film.......2006-05-03
The "history" line is so sad yet true. It's uttered by Larry, brilliantly played by Robert Ryan (one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood history). It sums up this Dostoyevsky like play/film. It's very heavy going, rarely showing a ray of sunshine in the dismal existences of the sad souls that populate Harry's Hope, a 1912 dive bar where getting another round of whiskey is all that matters in these shattered lives. Some hang onto their pipe dreams, but they are only dreams. This is a full text, uncut version of the film, directed by the great John Frankenheimer (The original Manchurian Candidate and Seconds). The film had rarely been seen (in any form) since its premiere with the American Film Theater endeavor undertaken by Ely Landau. Kino has restored this film to its original 239 minute length. Kudos to them for bringing it to us. While there are problems with the source material (you can tell where material's been restored and the sound isn't always clear), it's still worth watching. It's not the worst transfer I've ever seen. The performances are superlative. Even Marvin, who some have criticised as being miscast, acquits himself quite well as Hickey. Ryan is the standout in a great cast. See John Ford's The Long Voyage Home and Sidney Lumet's Long Days Journey into Night (also produced by Landau) for great films based on O'Neill's work.
Greatness abounds, but...........2006-01-31
I will simply agree with the other reviewers raving about March and Ryan, as well as the thought that the entire ensemble is incredibly good. This movie was a cult favorite of mine back in the day - I would drag people to see it as a way of communicating that I really cared about them.
It was very upsetting to see how bad the print is. Wow. It would be a labor of love for someone to go through this to correct the color. Since it is the acting and the dialogue that is most important, this is still a treasure, but it would be wonderful to be able to see it with all the atmosphere it had when it was released in theaters.

THE ICEMAN COMETH AGAIN...........2005-05-11
....I've had the privilege of sharing the stage with two GREAT "Masters Of The Telecaster"...Albert Collins & Roy Buchanan...as a guitarist with Billy Price & The Keystone Rhythm Band in the late '70s, I was fortunate to have been in the company of both...at a club date at Mancini's in Pittsburgh, Albert and I tuned up our guitars together before the show...I told him I sometimes opened up the set for the band with a song of his called "Master Charge"...a playful tune he composed regarding the use of his credit card by his wife...after viewing the DVD, though he is no longer with us, he's as "Frosty" as ever on this workout....his band on this occasion is beyond stellar...forgive me for not naming names for the production/editing/cinematography....I've never been good with names, telephone numbers, or addresses....but whoever put this together...a thousand times....THANK YOU !!!
...it's blues to me,
charles frank roethel
I Wish I Could Give More Than 5 Stars.......2005-04-14
This is a fantastic CD. The quality of the image and the sound is excellent.
In the beginning, the band is announced. As the band walks out onto the state, Albert Collins emerges. He can't be described as walking. The man is strutting. He knows he is the man. And he knows he is about to blow away a bunch of people many of whom probably have never heard of him before.
The CD contains some excellent guitar work, and the unselfish Collins is generous in giving the band members their own chances at solos. Two bass solos are the best I've ever seen on DVD. James Genus genus, bassist for the Brecker Brothers, sits in for Johnny B. Gayton in the first set, and he is fantastic.
My wife is a merenguerra and a fan of family friendly contemporary christian music. She has never heard of the blues when I had met her. After having seen parts of this DVD, she now proudly responds, "The Blues!" whenever anyone asks her what type of music she likes.
The Master Of The Telecaster In Japan.......2004-08-01
Years ago Albert Collins produced an album "Live In Japan". It featured perhaps his best tune after "Frosty" which was "If Trouble Was Money". This excellent DVD, released during the Year of the Blues 2003 features two sets by Collins and the Ice Breakers lineup which I saw him with during his final tour to Australia. This is set at the Mt Fuji Jazz Festival. The playing is casual, but Collins distinctive sound is no way diminished. Any fan of his music will love this DVD.
While the set has many tunes that are replicated, the overall presentation is very interesting and excellent. The first set has a stand-in bassist for Johnny B. Gayden, his usual player and oldest Icebreaker, who does a good job. The two highlights of this opening set are "Light's Are Out But Nobody's Home", Collins always excelled at slow blues and storytelling. The other is Same Old Thing is also very funky and well done (even without Debbie Davies singing backup!). On Travelin' South the string he had just changed (Collins had no backup guitar- like Albert King) goes way out of tune, but he still manages.
The night set is better. A great highlights of this are "Nobody Home" again and "Frosty" his signature tune. But, I really love Lowell Fulson's "Honey Hush". He had recorded this tune as the opener on his most infuential LP "Ice Pickin". I really love his style on this!
This DVD is essential for any Blues lover. Collin's live performances on video or DVD are rare (Like Albert King's). This is a great edition to one's library- color great, sound is very good, could have been longer, but is still excellent.
Excellent dvd of the Master of the Telecaster.......2003-09-03
Having had the pelasure of seeing Albert Collins, this dvd was a real treat capturing not that long before he passed away but who would know that from the vital performances captured here. As the others have noted there is some duplication of material between the two sets presented here but the sound and video is quite good and he has quite a strong band behind him
A Great Bluesman.......2003-07-29
Albert Collins The Master of the Telecaster. If you've never
got a chance to see him Live, This is your chance-Don't miss
it. Albert Collins is sorely missed. His band brought Life and
Fun to the blues. Once you've heard them your hooked. You'll
be looking for anything Albert Collins. Sorry to say many
of his CD's are beginning to vanish from the stores, but look
for them I promise you won't be dissapointed.
Five Stars, you bet five stars. Though some songs are repeated
in the two sets there is a different feel to them, so enjoy
Thank God Someone had the good sence to put this on DVD.

Amendment get The Best of Deathmatch Wrestling, Vol. 3: The Legendary Japanese Tournament, instead of this DVD. You get all the same matches, WITH audio, and another 2 hour DVD for the same price!
I have been waiting to see this DVD for 12 years. I have not seen anyone of the matches, and my expectations are very high.
Tiger Jeet Singh vs Gannosuke- Singh just dominates from start to finish. It was a bit boring because it was so one sided. Brutal choke on the barbwire at the end. Grade C-
Leatherface vs Terry Funk- This match isn't bad and has some potential. Leatherface cuts terry with his chainsaw. They both climb up this 20 ft fence, however neither can do anything since they are both holding on, and they both just climb down. Not the best finish. Grade C+
Cactus Jack vs Terry Gordy- Gordy just dominates this match. Gordy has some wicked shots with a barbwire bat. Gordy press slams Cactus from the top rope onto the floor. Weak finish however one DDT by jack and he gets the pin. Grade B
Hiroshi Ono vs Shoji Nakamaki- Solid thumbtack match. Both guys went into the tacks a lot. Thes guys reminded me of Samoa Joe both in size and the way they hit. Grade B
Ichihara vs Okano- Ichihara tries a suicide dive and you can just see there heads collide. Good solid wrestling match, this one seemed like it wasn't part of the tournament. Grade B-
Iceman vs Kamikaze- This is for a light heavy weight title. I think the Iceman is easily tipping the scales at 300 pounds. Ok match nothing spectacular. Grade C
Terry Funk vs Tiger Jeet Singh- Tiger attacked early and got an advantage. Its great to watch because he is so vicious! He never lets go and just pummels Terry. Tiger used a piece of metal from a chair to stab Funk over and over. He then tosses Funk into a piece of glass. Cactus Jack hits the ring and hits Jeet, and Funk wins. Grade B
Cactus Jack vs Nakamaki- This is a great match! Cactus Jack looks totally deranged! Some amazing moves with a bed of nails, and a bed of barbwire. Solid finish (Finally!) Grade A-
The Headhunters vs Silver King and El Texano- Interesting match, we had Silver King (5'8 195) and El Texano (5'6 185) versus the Headhunters (6'2 450) a piece. The team from Mexico showed some great high flying, but where beaten down by the larger team. Its amazing to see men as large as the headhunters execute such perfect moonsaults. Grade B+
Dan Severn vs Tarzan Goto- A short match. This was for the NWA title, yet Goto went down fairly quick and easy. Grade C
Cactus Jack vs Terry Funk- Great match. It was a brawl for it all. Both of the men bleed and took some huge hits. The ring was supposed to explode and did not. The end of the match was a bit disappointing since Terry just knocked Cactus Jack off a ladder into barbwire yet somehow Cactus gets the pin. Grade A-
Overall it wasn't a bad DVD, however its not the best DVD I have ever seen so it partially did not live up to the hype. Its worth getting because it is an enjoyable DVD. It is true there is no commentary during the matches. In a few of the matches wrestlers really missed some moves, tables didn't break, and there where some glitches. The DVD quality wasn't too bad. A lot of what is said is in Japanese and we don't get a translation. Overall Grade B
Essential for Die-Hards, But Not The Best DVD Money Can Buy.......2007-03-24
This DVD edition of the 1995 IWA King of the Death Match Tournament is a must-have for die-hard wrestling fans as well as Mick Foley fans. That said, the video quality is only a little better than your old VHS copy of a copy and the sound may not even be in stereo. The matches on this set are in many respects below average--many slow-paced outings as well as botched spots make this card drag on in places. This card represents a historic moment; however, it was the night in which Mick Foley established himself as one of the most acomplished hardcore wrestlers in the world.
Geil!.......2007-01-03
Geil! as we say in the germany, that means great. I love Terry Funk and I love Mick Foley, what else should I say. I think this tournament is legendary and also the match between the two hardcore living legends is a must see. There were a lots of moments I asked myself how can they do this!.
And there were too a lot of great real wrestling matches between the tournament matches. I read the Foley books and I wanted to see this match and was not disappointed!
blood and more blood.......2006-11-26
first off i just don't have an account and don't want one so that's why it says kids review. also this is a very bloody dvd not for the weak hearted exspecially the funk and foley main event. it's just a match where whoever wins deserves a standing ovation in my book. not exactly a buy just a rent.
A Long Time Coming A Must have DVD!.......2006-08-28
