Ricardo undergoes the negative consequences of falling in love with Laura (Dora Venter), a young photographer, who tells him forcefully what she wants from him. Ricardo begins to doubt himself and to doubt his life and the "everyday routine" of his existence. He does not know wether to leave everything for her or if he really only loves his woman, Maria, and Laura is only something fleeting. On the other hand Laura has been madly in love with his son Joan, for the last 4 years. Carlos, his lifelong friend (Roger Pear) tries to help the pair, although their minds change when he presents Ricardo to Pamela, the prostitute, to make him forget Laura, The memory of the goldfish is an allegory to the fact whereupon the men sometimes lose their senses with everything which seems new to them.
