Just as great as ever!.......2007-06-03
Twenty years ago in college, I used to dance around my dorm room to this entire album (and I do mean "album"). I just re-discovered this while loading my Ipod, and it still makes me want to dance 20 years later! It has so many great songs it's hard to choose the best. Definitely one to add to your music collection. 80's music fan or not, it's just as great today as it was then.

After hearing a short snippet of the chorus to "You Spin Me Round" during a commercial for the Hoover Spinning Brushes vacuum quite some time ago (four years ago to be exact), I couldn't get the tune out of my head. I had asked a friend to see if she could find this album somewhere for me, and she did. I got it that Christmas and could not stop listening. I had originally wanted the album for that song only, but found the entire track listing irresistible!
For those who disagree, I stand by my review, and its title. This was, and still is, Hi-NRG at its finest...Period.
A MASSIVE QUAKE!.......2006-06-06
As a massive fan of the great DOA, i would have to say this is my favourite album of theirs. 'Spin me' was the first song to catch my attention way back and i have followed their career through and still do to this day...'Youthquake', to me, is an album FULL of pumping dance tracks and the odd 'surprise' tracks like 'In too Deep', the BRILLIANT 'Cake and Eat It' & the underated 'It's been a long time'. Best tracks on 'Youthquake' to me are 'Lover Come back to me', 'I wanna be a Toy', 'Big Daddy of the Rhythm' (should have been a single release after 'Lover' rather than the bland 'In too Deep') & of course the dance gem 'You Spin Me Round (Like a Record'...i would have included 'My Heart Goes Bang', however, the album version does NOT compare to the remix that was released...DOA..ahh what would i have done without you...
Good, but SAWing still going on........2006-01-30
This LP doesn't sound dated at all. Although SAW are still here and going strong. Lord, leave ALREADY! Again, this type of production took Pete Burns years to pull out of. This LP is just dark enough, thanks to Pete's lyrics and compositions, that SAWs bubble gum just makes it too sticky. This LP is Dead Or Alive and isn't OVERTLY interrupted by SAWing, so, I give it 4 stars. They deserved to be listened to. The teeth of the SAW hadn't completely entered Pete's skin at this point.
Loaded.......2006-01-27
Lots of people know DOA from "You Spin Me Round" but this cd doesn't end with this classic it only begins. Youthquake is loaded from top to bottom, you certainly won't be reaching for the skip button. Absolutely one of my favorite cd's of all time.
