About the Artist
While New York and Los Angeles are looked to for the latest trends in electronic dance music, there is formidable action bubbling in the vicinity of Boulder, Colorado. This is where longstanding DJ and producer DJ Harry resides and from where he has been steadily and reliably creating enticing sounds. Drawing as much from futuristic elements of house music as from traditional music sources, DJ Harry's approach has the accessible sensibility to appeal to a wide range of listeners at the same time keeping its dance floor roots.
Although currently residing in the Rockies, DJ Harry has traipsed across North America, culling sounds from various cities. An integral part of the rave circuit during its heyday, Harry has DJ'ed alongside the likes of Doc Martin, DJ Dan, Mark Farina, and Kimball Collins. Not limited to that scene, he has also been the support DJ for James Brown and the New Deal.
Product Description
From the genre bending DJ/Producer comes an eclectic blend of original work. Together with the hard-driving remix of The String Cheese Incident's "Galactic" and the sexy downtempo allure of "All My Life", Collision embraces the full spectrum of dance-floor electronica.
The follow up album to 'the String Cheese Remix Project', Collision also features the debut of Lissie, an incredible female vocalist, who adds vocals to the track "All of My Life". Whether you loved Harry's first album or enjoy bands such as Zero 7 and Morcheeba, Collision will fit perfectly into your record collection. Let the dance party begin!

Slavic Soul Party bills itself as the "No. 1 brass band for Balkan-soul-gypsy-funk." While the competition may be a bit thin in this niche genre, there is no argument about the validity of the tag. The band, made up of members of varying backgrounds from the U.S. and Japan, introduces the brash-but-intricate horn lines of the Balkans and adds some New Orleans grit and groove to the stew. On the Brooklyn-based group's third album, one can't help but marvel at the ensemble playing of knotty horn lines on tunes by leader Matt Moran (the percolating "Ruchenista!" stands out) or Slavic traditionals like the sadly romantic "Djelem Djelem," which features guest vocalist Eva Salina Primack. Those ready to party need look no further than the uproarious "Vrainje" or the title track. No matter which direction the nine-piece band goes, it easily takes the listener along for the ride. --Tad Hendrickson

Fun Music.......2007-07-07
When I first heard about this on NPR, I immediately got a big grin. This is a fun, funky collection of tunes. I'm also a big fan of The Art of Noise, so take that into account. This isn't full of sound effects, just cool tunes with a fun beat.

Album Description
With great success and momentum going before them, the David Crowder Band began the process of writing and recording their newest release, Illuminate. Having performed 251 concerts in 2002 (yet only missing 11 Sundays at University Baptist Church), Crowder says that the band was able to truly interact with its fans, consequently learning where the connections are: "We realized that, musically, their tastes were similar to ours. Just because a record is in a store doesn't mean they'll get it. Our music made sense to them. We were nervous about how the interaction would be. But, in between records, we kept getting reaffirmed that the fans really understood what we were about...that what we do is useful and significant in other people's lives. It helped us relax. It made us want to make music."
David Crowder has never been a disciplined, let's-sit-down-and-write-now kind of songwriter. "Songs come in spurts," he explains. "I am an inspirational writer. The moment will hit and I know I better find a pen and paper. There is a lot of intentionality behind my songwriting." And so it happened with the songs of Illuminate. Back in Waco, a writing spurt began as Crowder was having conversations at church about the relationships between the physics of light and Scripture. "It was definitely a 'head to heart' kind of experience when the songs came out," he says. Who knew that science would inspire worship?
Customer Reviews:
A Musical Masterpiece.......2007-06-05
I may not be the first to mention this, but this album greatly strengthened my relationship with Jesus Christ. I've always been a strong believer, but this music just takes me to new heights in my spiritual journey. Just when I thought "Illuminate" was as good as it gets, Crowder produces "A Collison" and captivates me once again.
"Wholly Yours" is just about the most profound song that I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. Even the interludes have deep meanings to bridge the gap and complete the album.
The album is a true, meaningful journey of worship and praise. It is an experience that you won't be able to discover anywhere else. DCB has changed me individually and I'm so much better for it. Believe me, you will never want to take this one out of your CD player!
Fantastic.......2007-04-12
Every cut on this CD is wonderful. There is a great variation of tempo throughout the album. I especially like Here is our King. Be more Quiet is simply haunting. Usually I don't enjoy bluegrass but I really thought I saw the Light hit just the right note
Why I listen to it over and over.......2007-01-28
If you've seen David Crowder in concert, you will want to buy this CD. David can get 'out there' with his techno sound, but this is not like that - it's 'real' sounding. David Crowder has an awesome voice and his lyrics are pure worship, if not directly from the Bible itself. You'll find yourself singing along. The only fault I noted was 'odd' breaks between some of the songs, but it's only distracting the first time you listen to it. There's really no cut on this CD that I don't like.
Unique!.......2007-01-10
David Crowder strikes me as someone who would be fun to know: he seems smart, committed to Christ, and creative in the extreme. This album is fun to listen to, and is definitely unique!
I Wish it Went to 10 Stars!.......2007-01-10
This album is WOW! thats all there is to say...it so great and so sincere. You can really connect to the cd. You should definitely consider buying Illuminate too! Its even better!

The first question everyone asks about Collision Course is "Is this album more Jay-Z or Linkin Park?" The wrong answer is that it's Jay-Z with a loud band or a back-and-forth of covers where one rearranges the other. The right answer is that this CD/DVD set is quite possibly one of the best cross-genre pairings of its kind. What started off as an exercise at "mashing" a Linkin Park track with a Jay-Z track turned into a fantastic pickup game between two artists at the top of their worlds. Each brought a short list of their best songs to the field and walked away with a six-song trophy. This is recess in the supergroup sandbox, and the boys shared their toys. "Numb/Encore" and "Izzo/In the End" are near-perfect plays of seamless sonic moves and mic assists from heavy metal to hip-hop and back. Both artists have spent a little time in the other camp on various parts of their records, but it's the collaboration that makes this album a winner. It may be true that Linkin Park is less than convincing than J-Hova on "Big Pimpin'/Papercut," but there's no evidence of "I" on this team. In fact, the DVD clearly shows Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda taking on the role of head coach as he commands the digital workstation, the mixing desk, and all the players with a collective spirit. --Pete Hilgendorf

Not worth your money.......2007-05-13
I was really looking forward to listening to a great CD. Instead I was extremely disapointed. There are probably only 2 good songs on the CD. Not worth your money.
Whiny __________ & a __________ rapper.......2007-04-12
Not only do both of them suck at music, mixing them together dosen't work out. Indeed, this is one nasty collision.
I'd like for you to think of the wretchedness that this cd makes of itself. Don't even think that this will work, it dosen't. I don't even reccomend this to Linkin Park fans. It's better without Jay-Z trying to rap about the ________ no one cares about. Or better yet, _________ em both and get THe BEastie Boys or something else.
And it's a ripoff too. Watching them live realized how much they ________ suck at the guitar or the other _______ they try to do.
Amazing.......2007-03-09
This CD is a must-own. I love this CD. I wasn't a big fan of Jay-Z, but I love Linkin Park and these guys just mesh so well together, I'm certainly a fan now. I only wish the CD would have been longer but that's my only complaint, I love it otherwise. Great job!!!!!
Awesome genre mix.......2007-01-21
What can you say? Linkin Park and Jay-Z is a great mix. The songs are awesome. The beats they make by mixing the two genres make this a MUST HAVE cd.
Love the songs, way too expensive though.......2007-01-03
I love this combination of artists and this is a nice CD. Radio overplayed the one hit song, but actually all of them are quite nice. My only complaint is that there are too few songs for the price they want, and this is not available for purchases from the likes of iTunes, so I got stuck with it.

Customer Reviews:
The Complete Piano Music of Scott Joplin.......2007-06-08
John Arpin does a great job with these pieces. The songs carry a consistent sound and are played very close to as-written, which comes and goes with old ragtime pieces. The stamping on Stop-Time Rag doesn't have a consistent sound to it, can be a little distracting. Everything else is great, overall I think that it's a great buy, I'm very happy with it.
Another Performer Rewrites Joplin's Masterpieces.......2007-05-31
Once again, another performer feels the need to rewrite the music of the King of Ragtime. Scott Joplin spins in his grave each and every time this recording is played.
Again, to those who believe that concert music is meant to be rewritten by each and every performer I ask, is the same treatment also acceptable for Chopin's and Rachmaninoff's music? Would "Moonlight Sonata" sound better if played at twice the tempo and with a reprise of the first Adagio movement thrown in at the end? Obviously, the answer to these questions is a resounding NO!, so why does one of America's greatest composers get such disrespect?
Interpretation is an integral part of every performance. Adding one's own notes, phrases and chords where none should be is not. Randomly changing the structure of the piece is not. Playing a piece at twice the indicated tempo is not.
One the plus side, the depth of this collection is outstanding. Joplin's lesser known pieces like "Harmony Club Waltz" really shine. The recording is decent in quality, although a bit bassy in places.
While its been stated before, I feel its worth repeating: Buy Joshua Rifkin's performances of Joplin in order to hear how the Master intended his pieces to sound.
complete piano music of Scott Joplin on 4 CD's.......2007-02-14
Although all of the music is terrific it is rather a lot of a similar sound. I think I would have preferred 2 CD's of selected piano works of Scott Joplin. But I did get the music at a good price.
Ragtime Marvel.......2005-10-09
This collection of Scott Joplin's piano music is outstanding. As a lover of ragtime which was a prelude to jazz, I am thoroughly enjoying this collection. If you are not a lover of jazz, you may be a lover of ragtime. Jazz can sometimes be grating on the nerves, whereas ragtime lifts the spirit.
Complete, but poor quality.......2005-09-25
I have been learning some ragtime and wanted to hear more to find other selections to learn. Listened to Maple Leaf Rag, my favorite, first and was disappointed. Listened to others and was more disappointed. Maple flies - much faster than anyone would play it, you can't make out some of the phrases. And talk about ad libs - Tempo, dynamics, embelishments, nuances - I really think he plays some wrong notes too because he's going so fast. It's really a poor recording - and that's just on Maple Leaf. Others with "intros" start quick and then there's a grand pause, not a rest, but nearly a five second break. It's hard to argue how Joplin would have played it, but this is hardly anything I want to try to imitate. The only qualitating factor is the number of songs for the price. A lot of variety of a poor interpretation is only worth 3 stars. if that. Look for Rifkin or a copy that is as written to listen to first, then go for the ad libs and "artistic interpretations"

A great addition to your Crowder Collection.......2006-11-11
A bluegrass version of several of the band's great songs from A Collision - "Wholly Yours", A Beautiful Collision",and live versions of "Be Lifted" and "I Saw the Light" with Shane & Shane and Robbie Seay.
The more Crowder I hear, the more I like! What an awesome ministry!
Heavy, but Beautiful........2006-09-15
This is an awsome extension to their album A Collision. I like bluegrass, or hoedown music and that is what most of this is. Some songs have a heavy feel to it, though. I believe this is so because it says in their "album booklet" that their pastor died. They already created an album about death, A Collision, but they didnt expect this. So they remixed or "Acoustic-ted" some songs. I like this album, and Im sure if you like David Crowder at all, you will like it too. P.S. I love the banjo.
Here it comes.. a beautiful collision!.......2006-08-24
David Crowder*Band produces another great album! B Collision is a great addition for any Crowder fan. With faves from A Collision remixed and reinvented, this album is a real gem. There are even a few live versions of some other greats like "I Saw the Light". Don't forget the full version of "Everybody Wants to go to Heaven". It is definitely one that gets stuck in your head!
Awesome Mix of Styles!.......2006-08-19
The CD has truly been proof that great music can still be created!
After thinking about it for some time, I still can't honestly say that I have a favorite song! Every song is unique, has its own style - each is encouraging, uplifting, and I recommend it to anyone who wants to worship God with some great music!

Give It A Chance.......2006-02-22
I was ready to write this one off, literally, after hearing it the first time, having written "no" next to where it was listed in my notes. So why did it keep haunting me? After a second, third, fourth listen, I became totally hooked. Runga's voice is so perfectly, crystal clear, and seductive, that she becomes absolutely irresistable. Jazz, piano pop, I don't know how to categorize this. It may take you a couple of listens, but if you like soft, intelligent jazz.pop.fusion, this may be for you. Five stars for the opening track, "Get Some Sleep," others get three, three 1/2, four ("Listening for the Weather"), but overall a four for this haunting cd.
lots of potential.......2006-01-11
The melodies are pretty dry, but if you're a big Bic Runca fan, then this is another worthy CD. When I listen to the lyrics, I feel like they are each a story on their own. Written in a style that might be fitting for standard country tunes. "Honest Goodbyes" gets my attention because some of the background instruments are placed so well. The flute or piccolo maybe it is, just captures the essence of the parting within the song. The lyrics don't grab me, even though they are well composed. I think the background noises probably help make this album a stand out for Bic Runga fans around, though I have not tried to concentrate so hard on the music to listen to every inkling. I like to be able to pick up on some things on a first or second listen, and this is not one of those type of CDs for me.
So, I'm not feeling the music because I feel there could be more flair to the lyrics and the sound. Something more aggressive or more different and noticeable would help. I think her future album(s) will be worth waiting for.
Singer/Songwriter Extraordinare.......2005-09-21
Bic Runga's "Beautiful Collision" should be a part of every music lover's collection. The very first track on the album "when I see you smile," is a great example of the artistry that is Bic Runga. The album is full of rich imagery about love and all its abstract complexities, which is evoked through Bic Runga's very soft voice, that often veers towards ages past but is quick to bring you to the the present. The stand out track on this album is "Gravity" which I encourage everyone to listen to and you will come to know as I do that Bic Runga has taken the hard path down a road that may not lead toward an exuhuberant amount of records sales. But she has done a very noble thing and reqarded her audience as intelligent and is giving us music that respects and entertains us and will forever mark us as followers of her path toward making her kind of art
what it feels like to be in love.......2004-10-26
a friend mailed me this cd from new zealand and i had never heard of bic. the first time i heard this cd i hated it, and it was definitely a jump from all the indie and punk stuff he listens to, but this cd has become one of my absolute favorites.
for me, the song election night is exactly what it feels like to be in love, and one of the most beautiful songs ever. my favorite.
bic's voice is amazing, but while this is on my all time favorites list, i don't like the cd previous to this (drive) at all.
I love this CD.......2004-06-05
I just adore this CD, it's a really good soothing CD and I like it best when played straight through, though usually on a CD I'm jumping from one favourite song to another.
I find Bic's voice very unique and I would recommend this CD to anyone I know.

Second of all, I'd like to mention that, like most all Mixtapes, this Mixtape only contains "Explicit Content", and yet does not contain a "Parental Advisory" sticker.
Thirdly, I'd also like to mention that Mike Shinoda himself (aka Fort Minor) has said that anyone who wants to, may download this Mixtape for free off of the internet, and he (Mike Shinoda) actually debuted the Mixtape for free download on the internet, before it was ever even released in CD format, on a well hidden MySpace page.
So after you've purchased the Mixtape CD, feel free to make copies of it, and give it to friends, but please encourage them to also buy a copy, so as to support M. Shinoda (aka Fort Minor), along with getting a copy or two of "The Rising Tied".
And fourth, I'll give you the complete tracklisting.

Dope.......2006-04-18
This is the best mixtape I've ever heard. I'm not really into the mixtape scene, primarily because most of them recycle the same beats too much for me, but this one is way different. Fort Minor got creative with this one.
The production on this mixtape is off the charts. It makes the cd. Shinoda kills this mixtape production wise, and he is quickly becoming one of my favorite producers in the game. This cd contains some innovative sampling from bands you wouldn't expect to hear on a hip hop mixtape including: Guns N Roses, Jimi Hendrix, Rush, and Bloc Party; and some of the beats on here will amaze you.
Shinoda is not the most gifted emcee, but he is capable of holding his own on the mic. Apathy and Lupe Fiasco spit some fire on this cd though. Styles of Beyond and Celph Titled have their moments on the mic as well. There is even surprise guest appearance by Juelez Santana on here, who spits a hot verse also.
The official cd Fort Minor put out-"The Rising Tied" used to get a lot of air time in my whip, but this mixtape has pretty much replaced it in my cd rotation. One of my boys told me "DUDE, You GOTTA burn this cd for me" after hearing three songs on it. Fort Minor: We Major is an underground gem.
Here is a quick summary of this review--You want to own this cd. The End.

Better than expected.......2007-06-28
Personally I'm not a fan of rap perfromers such as Jay-Z, still like LP's style. But mixed with LP's beats and lyrics this is worth listening. Some parts of this release are spectacular and both performers complement each other very nicely. However only there are only 6 tracks. Other parts with only rap-style beats and Jay-Z's voice alone don't sound so attractive.
Overall: recommended if you either like LP or Jay-Z.
Mediocre.......2006-07-05
This is a decent mash up, but moreso, it's the record companies seeing something amazing done online and trying to capitalize on it.
DJ DangerMouse's Grey Album struck huge on the net. Mixing The Beatles White Album with Jay-Z's Black Album, which became The Grey Album. If you liked this, you'll be blown away by the Grey Album. You can still find it on the net if you look hard enough. And best of all, it's free. I'd recommend googling it and giving it a listen.
Also, if you want a funny not-so-serious attempt at mash ups, google Jay-Zeezer. Jay-Z's Black Album mixed with Weezers Blue album. It gives for some amusing songs. Although the bonus track 99 Luft Problems is actually really neat, and sounds awesome. 99 problems mixed with 99 red balloons. Fun stuff.
Linkin Park + Jay-Z = Good Album.......2006-03-21
An album with songs from Jay-Z and Linkin Park, mixed to make a new one. I didn't like Jay-Z when I heard some of his raps, but this album is pretty decent. It made me get into Jay-Z a bit more. Even though you'd think that Linkin Park and Jay-Z wouldn't make a good combination, its actually good.
1.Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You
OK, I'll admit I don't like the first verse much, the metal is brung down and vocals too. But the chorus and next verses, which is from Dirt Off Your Shoulders, brings back some of the rock with the creepiness from Lying From You. It sounds good. Then it goes back to the 2nd verse of Lying From You. It's not that good, but the bring back the chorus and ending of it and that makes the song nearly perfect.
4.5/5
2.Big Pimpin'/Papercut
I can't stand this song. I don't think verses of Papercut mix well with some crappy jungle beat (which I think is from Big Pimpin'). It doesn't make the song how it's supposed to be. The rap from Big Pimpin' is good, but it still doesn't make this song good or catchy. Its a good attempt but to me it just doesn't fit good together.
2/5
3.Jigga What/Faint
The first verse of this, from Jigga What, is fast and catchy, but it has a lot of cursing. Then after its over the first verse of Faint comes without the rock and not much feeling. But after its over the thrashing metal of Faint comes in for the bridge between the 1st verse of Faint and the next verse of Jigga What, with the guitars playing as it was a verse from Faint. The rest does pretty much the same thing with the music from Faint playing almost normally. Chester's screaming solo is just as it was from Faint. I love Faint and mixing it with Jigga What did not get rid of the awesomeness. But really, it didn't bring it up too much either. This is a very good track, its worth listening to.
5/5
4.Numb/Encore
The only track that got a single off this album and is one of the biggest hits of all Linkin Park songs. The music and beats is all from Numb, while almost the whole song is Jay-Z rapping Encore. His rapping fits almost perfectly with the music as it does with most of the others. Then after a while from Jay-Z's rapping, Chester starts singing the first verse of Numb, then chorus of it with Jay-Z's Encore. That makes an excellent combination. Thats probably why they made a single of it. I think this song is amazing, but I would rather have Jigga What/Faint as a single more than this.
5/5
5.Izzo/In The End
This is not a very good song to me. The hip-hop from Izzo is good, but the verses of In The End does NOT mix good with it. The rap is slowed down and lost all feeling. Except Jay-Z's rap, which is alright. The song is a bit short for a mix between 2 songs. Theres only 1 verse from In The End with some other parts, and the rest is pretty much Izzo. I love In The End, and Izzo is OK, but they don't do good together.
3/5
6.Points Of Authority/99 Problems/One Step Closer
3 songs mixed together, comes out with a good result, but could of been better. At first, its music from Points Of Authority and rapping from 99 Problems. Then the music changings to One Step Closer but still raps from 99 Problems. And the only singing that is not 99 Problems is the close the end, where Chester starts singing the "Shut up!" part. Then it goes to the One Step Closer chorus with Jay-Z's song. The beat from Points Of Authority is good with Jay-Z's rapping, but it gets old soon. It sounds just as good with One Step Closer. I really like this track, but the beats from Points of Authority gets stuck in my head when I listen to it.
4/5
That's all I've got to say about this album. I would rather see them mix a Jay-Z song with Breaking The Habit, even though it probably wouldn't sound good. So if you're a Linkin Park or Jay-Z fan, I suggest you buy this album or listen to the tracks.
This was a good album.......2006-03-06
people, dont diss other music just because youdont like it, the whole world doesnt revolve around what you like, and linkin pakr isnt the best band in the world and jay z isnt the worst rapper, i loved this album because at times rap gets me really pumped up, and so does rock, and when you put then together it makes actually a really nice sound, i liked the album i thought it was a nice new creative outburst. so i would reccomend this album to anyone who likes to get pumped up

first off, grow out of ignorance... then come back to amazon to do reviews!! i cant believe they allow ppl with no knowledge of the word impartial to post! anyways lets proceed with this review... i wont go song for song, so lets keep this short but sweet, i underestimated Lp and j-zay doing a collabo.... but then if u listen to reanimation LP was clearly ready for this project.. and hova was def open to the whole project... after all he especifically chose lp, so that goes without saying... i enjoyed this album its a fresh collabo its pushing the envelope in in era of stale music. much props to LP for being the most influential rock/rap group in years, and to Jay-Z for provividing us with a classic catalog of rap music. ppl with open minds will enjoy this project for sure

Best interpretation...is NO interpretation.......2007-02-24
This is as PLAIN a Ragtime CD as I've ever heard. No frills, no added notes, no interpretation going on here. Not everyone would like this style-without-a-style, but for me it's the best. I like to listen to these recordings with the sheet music in front of me, to see whether I can catch every note. (OK, so I do the same thing with Palestrina...I'm too left-brained to appreciate music the way musical people do.)
If you enjoy the solace of great ragtime, get a Joshua Rifkin or Dick Hyman CD. But if you crave the essence of Joplin's genius in the straightest, blandest form possible, this is the CD for you.
Also, don't dismiss the possibility of listening to a track on this CD, then on the Rifkin CD to develop a keener appreciation of Rifkin's unparalleled Joplin style. "Bethena" is a good one for this, as Rifkin brings so much PASSION to his interpretation. Well, a mechanical piano roll is not going to do that....
