Great Album.Better than Ultra Dance 07.......2006-03-12

Ultra Dance 06 is 10 times better than Ultra Dance 07.I have been listening to Ultra Dance 06 over and over for several months and still enjoy it. I could not stand listening to Ultra Dance 07 after only 2 days because of the crappy mixes.

too much like Annual 2005 .. but it's still great.......2006-03-12

The songs on this album are pretty good, with songs such as Lola's Theme, Call On Me, Put Em' High, Stay (the David Guetta one), When The Dawn Breaks, Stay (the one by Kim Sozzi), Stronger On My Own, and Just Be. It's definitely like the Annual 2005 ((which was mixed better)) but it has some great songs on it that the Annual doesn't have. I recommend buying the Annual 2005 because the mixing is better and there are some good songs on there too .. but this cd is still great!!

Ultra.Disappointment.......2005-09-30

This is a two-disc album with twelve music tracks per disc. Let me get Disc 2 (The Riddler) out of the way first, because I can easily sum that up as being overall decent, with no stinkers, but no keepers either. As for Disc 1 (Vic Latino), it's a wildly mixed bag which I will go into further detail about below:

The first thing I need to point out is the best track on this entire album, which is "You Won't Forget About Me (Original Extended Vocal Mix)" by Dannii Minogue vs. Flower Power. The music is excellent, combining a great melody with a variety of instruments including guitar, orchestral strings, and the obligatory synths. The lyrics are good, and the vocals play right into the melody, putting everything in perfect harmony. The second thing I need to point out are the two worst tracks on this entire album, which are the amazingly terrible "Mamasita" by Flexy, and the incredibly lame "Just Move" by Ultra All-Stars. Being that the problem stems directly from the infernal vocals, I hope the vocalists and lyric writers for these tracks die cold and lonely.

Other than that, there's not much to say about the Vic Latino disc. "Lola's Theme" by Shape:UK is probably the second best track, due to the neat music, but it's kind of repetitive. The rest of the tracks are more-or-less decent, but not worth mentioning.

I would give this album only a single star, but it gets a whole extra star just for including the Dannii Minogue vs. Flower Power track. Go grab that single I mentioned, and avoid Ultra.Dance 6 at all costs.

Huge hits and rareties make this a great addition to the series........2005-09-29

Aside from the fact that there are loads of big hits on here, what Ultra Dance has done right is giving us fairly long versions of club mixes that are virtually impossible to get on disc, including "All This Time" by Sylver, Rise Again by Tina Ann, and the dance mix of Wynonna Judd-not to mention the rare Rauhofer mix of How Would U Feel running 9 minutes! With big commercial hits, peak hour anthems, filter disco, and tracks sampling and covering some classic songs from ELO, Steve Winwood and Hall & Oates, this is probably the strongest disc in this series so far. Good music for the money.......2005-07-19

Overall I like this compilation. The selection of songs is pretty good. I prefer to listen to CD2 more because of the type of music and how its mixed. There are some songs I dont particularly like but 2 CD's for $15 -- its a pretty good value.

My fiance and I have been out of the club scene for a while --- this set makes us want to get back in! For the money it cant be beat.

DJs: Vic Latino; The Riddler. Ultra Records has released several series of club-oriented compilations, but its periodic DANCE offerings have been the most accessible and popular. ULTRA DANCE 06 continues the trend with a double-disc set mixed by DJs Vic Latino and the Riddler, both of whom are veterans of top-rated New York City radio station WKTU. Vic Latino returns from ULTRA DANCE 05, on which he reached particularly far afield for material by mining pop hits from Sarah McLachlan and the Pretenders' Chrissie Hynde. Here, however he stays closer to home, featuring primarily dance/R&B-oriented tracks, with the notable exception of a remix of country superstar Wynonna's singing the classic Foreigner power-ballad "I Want to Know What Love Is."
