Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Cool songs, but just another commercial trance compilation that is not convincing to average trance listeners........2006-02-20

Ok. First off this cd is pretty expensive. But it has some cool high energy trance songs that are very catchy and could be played as background music at a party or etc. Other than that this cd is pretty pathetic. I personally think Tracks 1,5,11,12 and 13 were the best songs on this cd but besides those highlights the rest are typical pathetic trance songs and trance remakes of other trance songs. Also the mixing of this cd is worthless, i noticed that they used all radio edits on all the songs on this cd and you can tell that at the last 10 seconds of each track they start rushing in the next song which makes the music seem like it was all clipped together. You can definitely tell when listening closely to the lead out of "tess - the second you sleep" going into "kassi - threw it all away" which in my sense gives it all away.

In the long run this is a good cd to have if you're a beginner trying to get into typical commercial trance songs that usually get airplay on the radio. For you average trance listeners i'd buy this cd if you catch it at a clearence sale or etc but i'd advise to stick to the Dream Dance and Ministry of sound compilations because 1, dream dance is unmixed radio edits of the best trance and house. And ministry of sound offers the same and at least mixes their music way better than they did on this cd.

5 out of 5 stars Great Stuff.......2005-12-24

The more I listen to this CD, the more I love it. All the songs are upbeat (emotionaly and speed-wise) and just...well, ROCK. Kind of expensive, but there's no filler, you get your money's worth.

5 out of 5 stars Trance Part,y, Vol. 5.......2005-12-03

I think this is an excellent compilation, at least as far as this genre goes. Every track had a very edgy, driving beat. No mamby-pamby filler tracks here. Plenty of crescendos and wailing Divas. My only caveat is that I found a couple of tracks that appear on other Robbins Dance/Trance compilations, so if you buy a lot of them, you might end up with some duplicates. "No one ever said life is fair, Tina."

4 out of 5 stars Met my expectations.......2005-11-24

In comparison to its four predecessors, Trance Party Vol.5 is simply good but not great. I have noticed that there is a larger presence of female vocalists in this compilation which does add an effeminate popish taste to it. But the melodies are very enjoyable and the transitions blend the tracks very well. In my perspective, I was a big fan of the previous Trance Party Volumes (especially vol.2) and this volume did not harm the series in anyway. However, don't expect to draw new people into the genre of trance with this CD, pick up Vol.2 for that.

4 out of 5 stars pretty good........2005-11-16

Up to par with the usual Trance Party CDs.
Some really good tracks, and some that are kind of boring.
All in all, pretty good trance music.

[and yes, the majority are about love..just like the majority of trance tracks, period.]

5 out of 5 stars Pretty good for the most part..........2005-11-28

Being a loyal dance/techno fan, I really thought that this was a treat. Although not performed by one artist, NYC Underground Party Vol.5 is awesome for all you dance lovers or club-music fans out there.

In Your Eyes~9/10 A really nice song, but the lyrics majorly lacked originality.

No One's Gonna Change You~7/10 Good, but missing something.

I Don't Want U~4/10 SKIP IT, I BEG. This song is far too aggressive and really puts me off.

Safe From Harm~8/10 Not really a bad track, and I like it.

At the End~9/10 Really great. Enough said.

Sound of Goodbye~8/10 Interesting song with a decent beat.

Wonderland~7/10, Weird, freakish. Skip it, I suggest.

Alright!Strobelight!~6/10 Pretty good, but I give it this score for it's...I don't know...it's a little strange.

Dark Beat~4/10 By far the worst track on the CD.

The Crowd Song~7/10. Pretty nice.

CD 2--
L'Italiano~10/10 Awesome song, I love it.

Alone~8/10 Nice. Fair.

Tremble~10/10 So awesome I can barely describe it--great track!!

Take Me Away~10/10 SO IMPOSSIBLY FLIPPING AWESOME. Best track ever!!!

Walking In the Sky~10/10 Love it, love it, great great track.

Like A Prayer~6/10 A cliched song, so how would it be better as a remix?

Trippin~7/10 It's okay.

Shiny Disco Balls~5/10 Hate it. HATE IT. Very bad. A horrible attempt at disco-dance.

Funk-A-Tron~7/10 Egh, kinda good.

It Just Won't Do~8/10 Pretty decent song.

And that's my opinion. Buy this CD and enjoy!!

4 out of 5 stars Almost Five Stars.......2005-08-04

It loses points because there are more filler tracks than great ones. More specifically, 9 out of 28 tracks are good. Some of them are so good that I had to give this double album at least a 4. Overall, not a must have, but if you like this type of music, it might be worth a purchase.

1 out of 5 stars very dissapointed.......2004-12-12

This CD absolutely sucks. There are maybe about seven songs out of the whole 28 that i will actually listen too. i dont know what happened, i have volumes 3 and 4 and they are the best Cd's out of my whole collection of electronic music. As being a big fan of Louie Devito he betterpick out some better songs. I dont know about anybody else but i like pure techno and trance on mmy cd's. Not stupid pop songs and old Madonna remakes.

5 out of 5 stars The only cd you will ever need.......2004-03-20

This has to be one of the best dance mixes ever put out. It has a great variety from my favorite track "It just won't do" from Tim deluxe to the hard core "goin thru'it" from Johnny P. This set was all it took to turn my girlfriend from a nasty country fan to a big dance lover. Of course im not saying louie devito is a genious but he has awesome taste and comes up with the best mixes I've ever listened to.

4 out of 5 stars 4.5/5 AINT SO BAD EXCEPT WHEN IT COMES TO LOUIE.......2003-11-22

I admit, this cd is not Louie's best, but this cd is definitely not as awful as everyone makes it seem. You read the reviews on here and you would think this is Bob Denver's greatest hits remixed into club anthems. From my experience, the more you listen to this voulme, the more it grows on you. I at first thought disc 2 sucked, but then I listened to the whole thing when I was stuck in major traffic after work, and it's not that bad. It has a good mix of decent songs, some that you actually find yourself moving too as they go on. Disc 1 is pretty good, especially with the songs "In Your Eyes", "No One is Gonna Change You", "At the End", and my sleeper pick "Wonderland". I would recommend this cd to anyone who wants a club fix for songs that were out in late 2002.

4 out of 5 stars for the serious club music fan, not the casual listener.......2005-05-05

Circuit Party 5, starts off with very repetitive, instrumental tribal and hardhouse tracks. Disc 1 has a couple of standout vocal tracks, including a shortened version of the Hex Hector mix of Shannon, The amazing Johnny Vicious mix of "Show Me", and a pretty long version of the vinyl-only plasmic honey mix of Deborah harry-which to me, makes up for some of the more tedious moments on this disc. Overall, things pick up in the second half, and there were a couple of hot tracks I'd never heard before, including the incredible vocal track Vibe. On Disc 2, we once again begin with some repetitive stuff. Track 2 is filled with pops from the vinyl used. We get to some amazing vocal anthems-Void, Jump for Joi (the brilliant Santana mix), Encore-surrounded by a bit of filler, but also some really slammin' hardhouse tracks, like People get Down and Higher. And the awesome "everybody", which loops the string opening of Madonna's "Papa Don't Preach" into a real stomper. A good set, geared more towards true club fans, and not the casual party mix lover.

1 out of 5 stars just FYI, Circuit Parties are very very BAD.......2002-10-01

Here it is, the stuff I try to warn others about so they don't do the same stupid thing I did: purchase any circuit party album. Take your pic, each and every one of them is the worst that techno or dance has to offer, [boomboomboomboomboomboom] with barely a change in beat. Yes, there are some vocals, but not very good ones, the beats that are there are just awful. This is a very boring series, and not worth a penny.

5 out of 5 stars this will make u dance.......2001-02-24

I love clubbin and the music that goes with it there are so many cd's that say its good but there are very few like this that make it reality --I miss the clubs in south beach and this takes me be back to the music ,the clubs and definalty the dj's i will give high remarks to this --especially dj eddie x --he can take you to the next level...

5 out of 5 stars Best in Series (so far).......2001-01-11

This series has been getting better ever since I 'turned on' to it at CP2. Thie CD may signal a departure from "flamer" music to a more adventurous, harder edge sound that's more contemporary, and more likely to catch the ears of "Curcuit Boys".

The first song, CELEDA's "The Underground" is an unfortunate choice, since it's the only "low point" on the entire 2 CD package, and it is also the first track. So, just skip it, and go to # 2.

This CD is more "West Hollywood" than Manhattan, but the club dancers are cuter (my opinion) in LA, and probably always will be. New York is just too much "big business" to be a mecca for 18-21 year olds these days.

While this is not "cutting edge" material, it's several cuts above most other CD dance music, and club DJ sets.

Best tracks:

SoulShaka (Club 69)JAN DRIVER,

Give Me Tonight SHANNON,

Void (I Need you) CATAPILA,

Runnin BASS TOY,

Show Me ANGEL CIVILLES,
