Pendulum have Created a Hybrid Mix of Drum 'n' Bass, Nu-skool Breaks and Classic Rave, Managing to Keep their Underground Roots While Crossing Over to the Mainstream. The Album features the Singles 'slam' and 'another World'.

This is genuinely the best drum and bass album ever, in my opinion. If you listened to any DnB sets at all in 2005 or 2006, you'll almost certainly recognize every single song on this album. It's truly a remarkable blend of beautiful vocals and hardcore headbanging bass. Every song fits within the album as a whole, and at the same time they're all very different. Buy this album -- it's well worth it, even at 27 dollars.

I'm new to the magical world of Drum and Bass with Trance as my gateway drug. I enjoy that this album has a good stylistic range; some songs are really hard and intense (Slam, Through the Loop, Tarantula) while some are not so hard and intense (Sounds of Life, Girl on Fire, Hold Your Colour). What makes this worth a rating of five to me is the consistency of quality from track to track. I don't end up skipping forward to hear the two or three good songs typically on a CD, but rather listen to the whole thing from start to finish. I highly recommend this album to those with an interest in D&B.

I bought this CD on an impulse after listening to only one song, and it now ranks as one of the high points in my collection. Each song is distinct and lasts long past the initial "new CD feeling". "Girl in the Fire" and "Hold Your Colour" are epic, while "The Terminal" has a darker mood. "Slam" swings between hip-hop beats and techno soundscapes while the last 3 songs are all softer and surprisingly enjoyable. Vocals are employed on nearly every track, and it feels as if the music had been composed with a certain vision in mind.

Overall, a great CD, and necessary if you have even a passing interest in electronic music.

Personally, the cd was a little too over hyped. I've heard much better dnb before. It's a good album with a bunch of solid songs on it, but there are a few that take away from the album.
