Product Description
The highly anticipated collaboration of Darryl Palumbo (hardcore's Glassjaw )and legendary beatmaker/ producer Dan "The Automator" Nakamura (Handsome Boy Modeling School, Gorillaz, Dr. Octagon), Head Automatica sounds like nothing you would imagine (i.e., NOT rap metal)on the duo's debut album Decadence. "We're an electronic cock-rock band," says Palumbo, setting aside the anger and angst of Glassjaw. "I just want to f***ing party." With Head Automatica, the party is full on.

Fun!.......2006-10-31
I don't dance. But I love this CD. It puts me in a better mood no matter what. Beyond that, I need to say that people who are fans of Glassjaw should not be necessarily turned off right away by this.
If Glassjaw and hardcore are the only things you listen to, perhaps you should expand your horizons. I love Glassjaw. And I love Head Automatica. Two different bands.
Any of Head Automatica's CD's will make you realize how diverse Daryl Palumbo is, and how much fun you can have listening to this music.
A Good Result From A Bad Idea.......2006-09-20
This record was not a good idea, from a marketing standpoint. It is not even close to hip-hop (goodbye, Automator fans). It is nowhere in the neighborhood of punk (whoops...sorry, Glassjaw devotees). Neither of the two most visible contributors to the album have created anything that remotely resembles anything in their catalog, and that, as much as anything, is responsible for some of the negative press you can read here.
That's a shame, because as an independent project, not knowing anybody involved with the work, this is an above average pop rock entry. It's not going to change the world. Frankly, I'm bored with "artsy" music. If I hear one more argument about Radiohead I'm going to throw somebody out of a window. This is music you can put in and expect it to sink nicely into the background, and not in that bad, boring, sleepy way. It's music that won't offend most openminded folks' (meaning, not attached to their particular niche genre--i.e. not EXCLUSIVELY punk, or hip hop, or country for that matter) musical sensibilities. It is the definition of party music.
That said, it's hard to say whether you'll like this or not. I came here because I like Dan the Automator. He hasn't produced anything yet that I'd throw out with the garbage. This particular record bears more of a relationship to Lovage than it does to Deltron 3030, but even that comparison is loose and difficult to make. I like this record mostly because I also like the occasional guitar-driven pop rock outing. As such, I'd recommend it more to people that fall in the latter camp than folks that came here from the former.
To repeat, because it bears repeating: this is NOT hip hop. This is NOT punk. Do NOT buy this album and then complain because it's not either of those things.
As good as I had always heard it was. .......2006-09-09
I have heard of this album for a while just never ventured to get it altough it was highly acclaimed before, when, and after it came out. This album gets off to a great start when the second song kicks in i.e. Brooklyn Is Burning. Then it goes into Beating Heart Baby a great song and if I am not mistaken the beat in the verse is a sample of U2's Two Hearts Beating As One. Then from there it goes into my favorite song on this album Please Please Please ( Young Hollywood). Amazing song is an understatement for this particular song. Great album from start to finish and a great party record.
Good plain fun...3 1/2.......2006-08-16
This album is just good plain fun. Simple as that. The beats are very enjoyable, Dan the Automator is magic on this album. And Palumbo is becoming one of my favorite frontman. He sounds amazing in his other band Glassjaw(check them out) and he sounds amazing on this record.
The album is not going to change your life, its not revolutionary, but it is good. It is fun, and its a great ride. Pretty much all the tracks are great listens. Standouts include, Beating Heart Baby, King Caeser, and The Razor. Check it out if you want a good dance album. Highly recomended.
Great.......2006-07-16
I heard "Graduation Day" on TV and bought Popaganda, and then I bought this CD. Both are good, but this one is better. I like to listen to it when I'm mad about something...it makes me so...happy...

Bruce and the ring........2006-11-06
The basic track sound is great (I'm referring to game of death) but, differently from the orignal version you can listen in the Bruce Lee's movie, they added the sound of a bell (it souds like a triangle) which rings along all the traks and impede you to really enjoy them!
Game of Death:5, Night Games:0.......2005-03-21
Well...to keep it short & sweet, I've been a Bruce Lee addict since the 2nd-3rd grade, and while Game of Death wasn't a REAL Bruce Lee flick, the motion picture score really made up for the absence of Lee in 20th Century Fox's version of Game of Death, keeping the focus on the action as opposed to the obvious snippets from past Bruce Lee flicks and the UNCONVINCING double.LOL! But as it relates to the 2003 soundtrack reissue, it's all about tracks 1-11, I love the Game of Death theme, the fight themes(particularly the stick fight with Dan Inosanto), and WILL THIS BE THE SONG I'LL BE SINGING TOMORROW is addictive for life. Beyond the 1st 11 tracks are tunes from Night Games, a movie I've never seen or heard of...so I seldom listen through all of those. However, the ONE reason I didn't give the album a 5 is because they left out the Bruce Lee yell that was supposed to start the opening track. But overall, the GODeath sdtk is a classic.
"film music genius and composer extraordinare ~ John Barry".......2003-10-11
There is no disappointment in this latest performance from John Barry ~ "Game of Death" and "Night Games", both on Silva America label with brilliant remastering by Rick Clark. The composer John Barry arranged and conducted this masterful score from not to be forgotten Bruce Lee film. Both films can be relived from a passionate and compelling soundtrack that reaches down into the pit of your very soul, as only Barry can do!
Entire album has all the ingredients within every cue to recapture the moments from the screen to the listener at hand ~ found this score to be haunting and deeply suspenseful. Barry's score will transport you into significant areas of your mind which transcend into loving and exciting feelings through his signature style. Sonic quality is outstanding ~ just take a listen and be enticed with "WILL THIS BE THE SONG I'LL BE SINGING TOMORROW", both instrumental and vocal tracks are worth a "film-score-buffs" attention and then some.
Opening track is a delicious composition "THE LESBIAN TANGO", from "Night Games", great solo violinist takes you into a latin ballroom filled with beautiful ladies that will make your heart flutter ~ followed by "WATER SPORTS/THE DOMINATRIX'S WALTZ", typical Barry counterpoints give you a sensation of drifting into the stratosphere ~ let the waltz begin as main theme counter melodies bring harmonious orchestra sections into full swing...gotta love it!
Hats off to Silva America, James Fitzpatrick and David Stoner (album release supervisors), Reynold da Silva (executive producer) and of course the legendary composer, conductor and producer ~ John Barry.

Moving on from death metal to something different..........2006-03-14
On "Punishment for Decadence", Coroner move beyond the largely rote stylings of their initial release, "RIP", the guttural rasps of Ron Royce notwithstanding. Many songs on the record focus on neoclassical guitar riffs, arpeggios, and stylings that are reminiscent of perhaps what Vinnie Moore or Tony MacAlpine would sound like if they were also really into super-fast tempos, abrupt shifts in mood and feel, and lyrics pondering the misery of drug addiction ("Skeleton on your shoulder"), the type of decadent conformity that can destroy societies ("Sudden Fall"), or the murder of some mysterious politician who had "ulterior motives" ("Masked Jackal").
This is probably the second-best Coroner recording, after "No More Color" (although "Mental Vortex", for its superior production, would probably also get some votes). Coroner never sounded much like the American thrash or death metal of the time; rapid fire scales replaced riffs, and while there are portions where the double bass drum is pounding and everything is cranked there's a certain mournful quality to the slow riffs of "Sudden Fall" or the acoustic intro to "Skeleton On Your Shoulder" that has more emotional depth than much of the competing European thrash of the time period (ie, Destruction, Kreator). You probably won't hear a better guitarist than Tommy Baron for his mixing of jazz, metal, and pyrotechnics; "Marquis Marky" (Marky Edelmann) wrote some fairly obscure lyrics, and Royce belted them out. A very loud band with a lot of thought behind it.
A worthy album.......2005-12-14
Punishment for Decadence, Coroner's second full-length album, was released in 1988. It has ten tracks. Of these ten tracks, two are instrumentals and one is a cover tune, "Purple Haze" from Jimi Hendrix. The album's material is in a metal musical direction with progressive leanings. Altogether, the songwriting is worthy, the musicianship is proficient, and the sound quality is satisfying. The guitar playing of Tommy T. Baron is accomplished; also, I am impressed with the meticulousness and fluidity of his solos. Ron Royce's vocals are distinctive and likeable, while Marquis Marky's drumming is impeccable. The band's creative musical arrangements and the shifting tempos of the compositions are impressive, too. "Masked Jackal," "Skeleton on Your Shoulder," and "Sudden Fall" are examples of tracks that I enjoy. Baron makes his mark on the memorable, well-structured "Masked Jackal"--he provides a gratifying guitar solo and magnetic rhythm guitar work. Indelible guitar riffs are supplied by him on "Skeleton on Your Shoulder." "Sudden Fall" furnishes a chorus that is enjoyable and pleasing rhythm guitar playing from Baron. The CD booklet includes the song lyrics. In addition, an illustration of the group is displayed on the back of the CD jewel case. The disc is almost 39 minutes. This concise, urgent-sounding album is recommendable.
Great band, Great album!.......2004-01-10
Coroner was a trash band, from the middle 80's to the beginning of the 90's. They released five albums, and I consider "Punishment for Decadence" to be their masterpiece.
Coroner delivers a sofisticated old-school trash metal, very technical and heavy, combining lots of different riffs and tempos, and melodic solos with classic influences, with a "raw sound", like old Metallica or Tankard. The music is catchy and perfeclty assembled, with different rhythms...What caught me most of the band is their originality and capability to create such a great chaos! =)I have really no comparisons to give you an idea. If you like trash metal, you should get into Coroner, and "Punishment for Decadence" is a must...and so is their discography. Coroner, a band that trascends time with this great album; and so their discography. Too bad they split up...Anyway, don't miss "Punishment for decadence"...
PS: Check out J.Hendrix's cover, "Purple Haze"...
Thrash virtuosity!.......2003-04-10
Coroner deliver their second record of technical thrash. Tommy Baron's guitar style is characterized by sweeping arpeggios combined with a jazz influenced rhythm section. Baron really squeezes in every note he can in his OTT shred style. I think this band influenced Nocturnus and Cynic both. Great late 80's thrash for fans of amazing guitar work. Maybe like a super-tech Slayer.

BRILLIANT AND UNIQUE!!!.......2005-12-14
I snaged this in an ORIGINAL VERSION, brand new in the cd long box..remember those?? has huge artwork!!
Man I have had this for what seem's like for ever now, such intellegent METAL..make's exodus sound like the 3rd grade bully's they are!! read the word's to ''MAKSED JACKAL'' to get a glimpse into my mind set!!
The music is top notch TECH/PROGRESSIVE and really sound's like nothing else you will ever hear!!
CORONER WAS one of the best undergroud band's that lived, their album cover's alone can cripple you and bring you down just with the thought of them, they are so HAUNTING!!
If there ever was a ''cult'' band CORONER was it!!!
A TIMELESS ALBUM!!!!! BUY TODAY AND BECOME A NEW PERSON!!!
Tight As A Drum........2003-01-31
I was lucky enough to see Coroner the one and only time these Swiss metal legands toured in America, in Support of Nuclear Assault. They were one of the tightest bands I have ever seen; so powerful, so in control of their music. They sounded amazing. And this, their 2nd, lp is a true classic. Progressive speed metal at it's very best. Own this.
Coroner : Pure Punishment!!!.......2002-07-03
At last!!!....About time!!!
I was a huge Coroner fan back when this was released. These guys are fast and furious. It's a mix between Speed/Death/Thrash/ Techincal Metal. Not many people have ever even heard of Coroner, but finally Amazon has made this CD available. THANK YOU!!!
The three members of Coroner had more talent than most five member bands. Guitarist T. Barron is lightning fast, and also plays with a melodic approach at times. The whole thing comes together to form a "in your face" onslaught of power....
"Punishment" may not be the best Coroner release to date, but it's very refreshing if your looking for something quite different than your normal Metal sound. It's very unique in a scary sort of way.....
I prefer "No More Color", and "Mental Vortex" over "Punishment", but they aren't available yet on CD.
"Punishment" is still very good, and it's great to see this out again. I just bought it, and I can't wait to hear it again. Coroner has an underground fan base around the world, and with the re-birth of Metal today, Coroner should not be overlooked....
Check them out if you dare!!!
AT LAST.......2002-06-30
...I would suggest you [buy this] asap, because this is one [great] band. Highly underrated and coming from Switzarland (just like Iced Earth before, and possibly Red Sun Project in the future)
Playing trash with noticable prog influences this is not usual death/trash metal. Vocals (done by bass player) are growls but the music is amazing all the time. Technically great with heavy riffs, a guitar player that can easily take on Darrel, and the 50lbs drummer who's pounding on double base non-stop is something that you do not want to miss. I personally prefer thier two last albums (Mental vortex, Grin), but there is nothing wrong with these before (Punshiment..., No more color). Too bad they've disbanded.
Music should not be described with words, so I wont try to do that, just a friendly advice: get this as soon as possible, and listen to it. Over and over again.
Intense Speed and Skill.......1999-05-05
This is speed metal at it's best, and my favorite Coroner CD. These guys possess amazing skill, fast and tight. If youve never heard this guitarist before..LOOK OUT!!!

Outdated.......2006-11-17
By now, there are probably more Crue comps than albums out there. This early 90s compilation is really dated, particularly because of its flawed tracklisting.
Sure, most of the hits are here. Most. However, several have been remixed (and have been given the most adolescent remix tags ever); such tampering is unwelcome when one wishes to invest in the big hits. One key track, "Dr. Feelgood," is presented in an inferior live format. Why do compilers do this!? If you give us a live track, tack it at the end and give us the original as well. Omitting the studio version in favour of a lower quality track is just bad marketing. Furthermore, as Darth Kommissar noted, "Too Young To Fall In Love" and "Too Fast for Love" are missing. What? No!!!
The last few tracks on the disc are rarities, but are they really necessary? Well, having one third of your compilation consist of rarities is rather extreme. Maybe two or three, but a third? Rarity overkill! Give us hits instead! "Teaser" is an okay track with a decent chorus. "Rock 'n Roll Junkie" offers a rather well-produced bassline and is a good track. "Primal Scream" offers a cliché hair band chorus over an alright rock track. "Angela" has a typical sing-along Crue chorus as well, but it doesn't instantly gain a place in the canon. And "Anarchy in the UK"... um, yeah, they're trying too hard.
Overall, this set is outdated and flawed. Stuff is missing and there's an abundance of unnecessary material on here. Try out the recent "Red, White and Crue," since that should be more comprehensive than this compilation.
A good album with an appropriate title!.......2005-11-05
Decade of Decadence was the best Motley Crue could offers. A compilation of the greatest hits of the best rock band in the world.
If you want a good idea of what Motley Crue is all about. Buy this album! That's an order!

Since Amazon has not listed the tracks that appear on this album right on this page,I thought that I would post them for you. All of those tracks are the tracks that first appeared on Motley Crue's first greatest hits compilation,"Decade Of Decadence:81-91". While it is not perfect,it is really good. As already mentioned below, this compilation contains material from the Motley Crue albums "Too Fast For Love"(1982),"Shout At The Devil",(1983),"Theatre Of Pain"(1985),"Girls,Girls,Girls"(1987),and "Dr. Feelgood"(1989). As for the other tracks, you get two tracks that Motley Crue recorded for two motion picture soundtracks:"Teaser"(a cover song that was first written by Tommy Bolan and Jeff Cook that Motley Crue did for the album "Stairway To Heaven,Highway To Hell"),and "Rock 'N' Roll Junkie",an original song by the group that was written by Nikki Sixx,Tommy Lee,and Mick Mars and recorded for the soundtrack album "The Adventures Of Ford Fairlane"(1990). There are a remainder of three tracks that Motley Crue had managed to get in the studio to record right before this record was released so they could probably get fans who already owned the orignal albums to buy this album:the tracks that had been previously recorded for this compilation are:"Primal Scream"(which made people predict that Motley Crue was going for a different style of music after they heard this song, and they proved to be right when the album that came out right after this was Motley Crue's self-titled grunge album that featured John Corabi, one of the lead singers for the Scream, substituting for Vince Neil on lead vocals),"Angela"(a very pretty love song that could have been and should have been a hit),and a funny profanity soaked cover of The Sex Pistols' "Anarchy In The U.K.",which kind of points a middle finger towards the United States Government. My pick out of all of the songs that were recorded for this album is "Primal Scream","Anarchy In The U.K." is a pretty good and funny cover, and I'll say it again:ANGELA(the song, not a specific person)COULD HAVE BEEN AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN A HIT!!!!!
Overall, this is a very cool compilation. I am a die hard Crue fan,and as of 2005,the Motley Crue compilation you would be best off getting is their new two disc set "Red,White, and Crue". If you own that album and the rest of Motley's albums, then there is really no need to get this album seperately,so here is what you should do:Get "Red,White, and Crue",and then buy this as a part of Volume Two of Motley Crue's "Music To Crash Your Car To Box Set"-this album was re-issued with that box set,and you don't get all of the tracks that were included here(although you will get them if you buy "Red,White, and Crue" and Volume One of the box set that I just mentioned)-but the cool thing is if you get this album as a part of "Music To Crash Your Car To:Volume Two",you get the '91 remix of "Home Sweet Home",the kick ... '91 remix of "Live Wire",the screamin '91 remix of "Piece Of Your Action",live versions of "Kickstart My Heart" and "Dr. Feelgood",and the rest has unreleased stuff(demos of songs that had been released but the demo had not been released, and demos for songs that had not been released at all),as well as a poster for this album...so have a great day, thank you for reading my review of this, and whether you decide to buy this album seperately or with the "Music To Crash Your Car To:Volume Two" box set, don't forget...Motley Crue rules!!!!!!!
The only Crue compilation worth investing in.......2004-10-20
Decade of Decadence '81-'91 (1991.) Motley Crue's first hits compilation.
Motley Crue was, without question, one of the greatest of the classic eighties metal bands. Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars, Vince Neil, and Tommy Lee managed to create a unique sound that was the happy medium between glam and thrash - and in the process, gained a huge audience. Once the so-called decade of decadence screeched to a halt, the band remained together, and released their first hits compilation - 1991's Decade Of Decadence. Read on for my review.
PROS:
-OF ALL OF THE MOTLEY CRUE HITS COMPILATIONS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE, THIS IS THE ALL-AROUND BEST ONE. Essentially, where other Motley Crue compilations fail, this one succeeds.
-ALL OF THE BIG EIGHTIES HITS ARE HERE. The compilation covers the albums Too Fast For Love (1982), Shout At The Devil (1983), Theatre Of Pain (1985), Girls Girls Girls (1987), and Dr. Feelgood (1989.) Basically all of the popular songs from these albums can be found on this disc.
-UNDERRATED TRACKS HAVE ALSO BEEN INCLUDED. While most of the compilation is devoted to underrated stuff, many of these often overlooked gems also made the compilation.
-UNRELEASED STUFF! In addition to eight big hits, there are seven previously unreleased tracks. Some remixes, some new recordings, and even a live recording are among these releases.
CONS:
-TOO MUCH UNRELEASED STUFF. I like the unreleased stuff, but it should have been left off in favor of other big hits that didn't make the compilation. In the case of the remixed and live tracks, I prefer the originals. The new recordings aren't bad, but once again, I'd prefer more Crue classics. Any hits compilation needs bonus tracks, but this is overkill!
-A FEW SONGS ARE MISSING. Where's Too Young To Fall In Love. Where's the title track from the band's debut LP, Too Fast For Love? Admittingly, the song isn't missing a whole lot of things, but the omissions are hard to ignore.
OVERALL:
Don't buy Motley Crue's Greatest Hits. Don't buy the Millenium Collection compilation. Get all of the band's albums instead. But if you MUST buy a hits compilation, make it Decade Of Decadence. Pay a visit to Amazon's pages for the other two compilations, look at their tracklists, and you'll see why DOD is the one you should own.

The punch of the old friends.......2001-02-20
I had the pleasure to spend some time jamming with this guys, on the early 80's...This guys rocks!! The Brazilian stuff is realy great, on ever kind of music style. Well done!!
For the ones looking for a different type of Thrash..........1999-03-06
This Brazilian Band is amazing. The sound is all tied together. The vocals are heavy as well as the guitars. The Drums and percussion are trully the state of the art of something new. The lyrics are violent and, in the first song, you can listen to some portuguese!!! It is really a album that all thrash-metal lovers should have in thier collection. Téio.

simply amazing!.......2006-03-24
There's some bands like The Sainte-Catherines that really understand how punk-rock should be, this isn't an emo-jazzy-experimental record that sounds like the many new bands we are hearing over and over again (Atreyu, From first to last, you name it!)! I'm sick of th emo scene seriously, glory to the Siante-Catherines!! And they are one of the best bands you could see on stage, buy this you won't regret your purchase, all songs are excellent!
Lots of energy, anger, and attitude.......2006-03-22
The Good
Raw and weathered vocals compliment the driving guitar riffs and break-neck drums on "Burn Guelph Burn." It's the ultimate `up yours' anthem. Despite its balls-to-the wall pace, "Ring of Fire = 4 Points" has quite an emotional message to it. If it's a rebellion you're looking for, look no further than the anthemic "Get Your Politics Out of My Hair." The chorus is sure to generate mass shout-alongs at the live shows. "Emo-Ti-Cons: Punk Rock Expects" takes a direct shot at the glossed over rockers that claim to be punk. The Sainte Catherines put them right in the place with this one. I love the guitar progression on "I'd Rather Be Part of the Dying Bungee Scene." It's simple, but catchy. "Track and Field Style" delves into the life on a recovering addict.
The Bad
The song titles; too long and ridiculous.
The Verdict
On Dancing for Decadence, The Sainte Catherines come out swinging form the get-go with lots of energy, anger, and attitude.
