5 out of 5 stars Oustanding!!!.......2006-06-15

I always heard mixes from Ms. Young/buy them online but is actually the first time I buy a whole disc from her......this disc has everything instrumentals, vocals, effects, everything. I just went to see her at Boston Gay Pride.....and definitely her work in a studio is well done.....you can smooth the edges and everything......but see her transmiting all that energy to her people, is just oustanding, you cannot compare studio vs. live but with her is totally possible......keep it up Tracy....We all luv u!!!

3 out of 5 stars DanceCulture - Ups and Downs.......2006-03-22

I bought this CD because of the reviews that I have read on Amazon.com's site. I've heard "bumpin'", "jumpin'", and many other adjectives to describe this CD; however, with only 13 tracks--and one track comes in at a whopping 29 seconds plus there is no ENERGY until Madonna's song--I needed to hear much more "bumpin'" so I could keep "jumpin'". The Madonna cut is the best by far of the tracks listed. I enjoyed "Alone" and "You Used to Hold Me" as well. Most of the other tracks are pretty non-descript, if you ask me. If this is high N-R-G music, someone please explain "Let the Rhythm" as I found it pretty boring.

I expect dance music to be just that: danceable, and I don't want to have to continue to push the "next" button on the CD to find a track that is. The remix of Madonna's song makes this CD. If it were not for that one, I'd have been very disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing Tracy.......2005-09-16

Heard Tracy spin at Altanta gay pride in 2004. Absolutley blew me away. Her understanding of what the dancefloor wants is like ESP. Her Madonna mixes are like none other. Its like they share the same brain. And just a few weeks ago she was at the Abbey in Atlanta and the last song she did was Dont Stop Believin by Journey. Brought the house down! Keep it up Tracy. We love you.

4 out of 5 stars A Masterpiece!.......2005-09-16

Tracy Young has OUTDONE herself with this compilation of fantastic, spine-tingling and thumping dance music. This mix of tracks has something for every taste, including vocal dance remixes, deep house, and industrial dance. Remixes of Chaka Khan, Suzanne Palmner and Cyundi Lauper are some of the best I have heard in years, and tracks like "The Beats and The Drums", "The Bass Drive" and the mix of Ralphi Rosasrio's "You Used to Hold Me" make this one of the strongest dance compilations since Junior Vasquez' "Twilo" collection. But it is with Madonna's "Easy Ride" That Tracy Young truly shines, the song is so shiver inspiring that I had to actually pull my car to the side when the track hit its climax. In summary, Danceculture is one of the finest vocal house/dance music commercial releases, that I have come upon, in a very long time.

4 out of 5 stars Strong vocal tracks...painfully boring instrumentals..........2005-08-25

Tracy Young should really just stick to vocal tracks in her mixes because any time she throws an instrumental in, it's death to the party. There are plenty of slammin' instrumentals to be found, she just never chooses the right ones. So here, the party doesn't really start until track 4, the Madonna remix, which is an okay mix of a slow song from the "American Life" CD-a definite must have for fans since it's exclusive here, and clocks in at 8:30!!! Some strong vocal tracks follow, and finally, after years of remixes, You Used to Hold Me gets an interesting reworking that deserves to be put next to the original mix and the Razor n Guido mix in terms of worthiness. I could do without the Opera song (World is a Stage), but concluding the disc with an exclusive mix of Cyndi Lauper covering Walk on By makes this disc twice as worthy of purchase (first reason being the exclusive Madonna, of course!!!) Track times:

1. let the rhythm (4:15)
2. I believe (4:30)
3. the beats of the drum (5:16)
4. easy ride (8:30)
5. bass drive (5:31)
6. alone (7:45)
7. you used to hold me (7:07)
8. new love (6:30)
9. te quiero (5:01)
10. home (7:07)
11. world is a stage (7:15)
12. shelter me (:29)
13. walk on by (7:02)
