About the Artist
About the Artist The Guitar Brothers were formed on May 26th, 1999. They were the result of a last minute show thrown together by Jay Turner. The setting was The Stratford Grill. The crowd was The Dog Town Yacht Club. At 3pm The Guitar Brothers, a three-piece acoustic act, took the stage for the first time. There were three guitars but by the end of the show, there were only two left. The two remaining "Guitar Brothers" had played together before. Kirk on rhythm guitar and lead vocal and Jay on drums and backing vocals fueled the harmonic vocal engine that drove the band Freight Train Jane. Now with Jay switching to rhythm guitar and Kirk to lead guitar, the stage was set for a completely new sound.

About two weeks later The Guitar Brothers added the percussion talent of Kirk's roommate, Andy Monday. The band's sound was now coming together. Soon they were booked in some of the most well known clubs in the Richmond area. They practiced there acoustic rock magic were ever they went.

In October of 2000, the band added a fourth member to the line up, Keyboardist Jodee Herrington. The addition of Jodee to the band has created a whole new dimension in the sound of The Guitar Brothers. Not only does Jodee play the keys, but he also plays flute and adds a much-welcomed third vocal to the mix.

Almost every weekend The Guitar Brothers can be found entertaining crowds young and old. The list of clubs whose marquees have adorned the name of The Guitar Brothers is becoming longer and longer. Now with the release of their first CD, "Memories Worthy Of A Song", the boys might be on to something big.

5 out of 5 stars Acoustic Americana.......2001-09-02

It's nice to here a CD of southern rock and other American blends that isn't packed with screaming electric guitars or drowning, boring sad ballads and uninteresting vocals. This CD has re-established my faith in the ability of musical artist to create great music with acoustic instuments.
