Capone-N-Noreaga's sophomore album was "The Reunion" (2001). The album marked the return of Capone (A.K.A. Kiam Holley) who had been incarcerated, Noreaga (A.K.A. Victor Santiago) released a couple of solo album's during that time. CNN will always be known best for "The War Report" (1997), their impressive debut which featured outstanding production and guest appearances from artists like Tragedy Khadafi. The duo give Carl Thomas the spotlight on the intro "Change Is Gonna Come" which is a cover of the classic song. After a skit, CNN get's thing going with Phonetime, rhyming back and forth - a track about their previous circumstances - Capone in jail and Noreaga out on the streets. Capone-N-Noreaga rep their hood on "Queens" feat. Complexions. Gangstarr's famous producer DJ Premier laces CNN with a sick beat for the on point "Invincible". Female MC Foxy Brown is enlisted for the decent "Bang Bang ". Another standout track is "All We Got Is Us", Noreaga and Capone deliver some memorable lines, providing thir own chorus. Nas drops in for "Be Ez", while Mobb Deep makes an appearance on the grimy "Queens Finest". Capone-N-Noreaga's "The Reunion" is a solid release.

Truth is, I think this is a pretty banging album when it came out and today 6 years later! It certainly could outshine many a so called hip hop album these days. Capone N Noreaga's first album 1997's "War Report" is an undenaible hip hop classic!!! Dare I say it it is up there with "Illmatic", "Ready to Die", "Reasonable Doubt" or "Paid in Full." Unfortunately, Capone went back to the clink a year later and NORE went on to become a popular solo artist, but not a very fulfilling one. 2000 found them back together while Pone was back home, temporarily that is, and this is the result. The first song on the album "Phonetime" is without a doubt the hottest, the beat is just bananas!!! CNN always dropped them crazy ill NY beats, but lyrically they weren't looked at as prophets. That is the thing, we listen to CNN for the hotness, not the lyrical aspect. In actuality, NORE established himself with his off kilter and comedic rhyme style, where Pone dropped good and very decent street verse. This album is far from a "War Report 2" but it has its moments. "B-EZ" featuring longtime CNN pana NAs is hot, as is "Bang Bang" with foxy before she lost her hearing of course, "All We got is Us" and " Queens Finest." Sadly, they parted ways due to more of Pone's legal troubles, as well as NORE's GHORRIBLE decision to break into the emerging reggaton style. Remember, this was 2001/2002 and reggaton was good 3 years away from becoming the abomination it is today. I'd say pick this up if you like CNN at all, and if you have "War Report" you know you do. on the other hand, this is a hit or miss album and unless Pone and Nore get serious again as a unit, we will continue to reminisce on them old days.

Yeah, I like this album. This is the best thing I ever heard. The track ''Phonetime''is the nicest song I ever heard. I think Noreaga has the best voice of all rappers. Then I liked songs like BEZ, Bang Bang, Invinceble, Don't Know Nobody and all other songs to. I think Noreagas individual albums is not so good as with Capone. I truely recomend this album to other customers.

I taped a copy of this off my sister when it first came out(on vinyl). I played the cassette to death and feared that I would never find this again. Thankfully it was re-released and I get to enjoy it again. The song is classic 80's Brit-pop with guitars, guitars, guitars meeting lyrical hooks that catch the listener with each listen. The lyrics are thoughtful and the excellent rhythm section carries each song, subtle underneath the rave-ups, stand-out on occasion. Almost the perfect pop record. Each song insinuates itself into your consciousness with driving hook-laden melodies. Favorite selections: "Railroad Side" and "Listen On" I only hope that leader Gary Newby continues his anticipated 2003 comeback so I could experience this band live.
