About the Artist
Rick Guerrero was born Texas and currently lives Southern California. Rick is a newcomer to the music scene and has just released his first CD titled Another Day In Paradise. Rick plays a variety of instruments on the CD including guitar, bass, keyboards, and accordion. He also performs all vocals on the tracks. Rick has played acoustic guitar for many years and in early 1990 began writing and recording original compositions.

The songs on Another Day in Paradise cover a broad range of topics and musical styles.

Spanish Song (track number 7) was written shortly after Rick's favorite radio station in Los Angeles broadcast its last show. The station changed from an Album Alternative to an all Spanish format causing its loyal listeners to lose a great source of entertainment. Spanish Song was recently featured on “Unsigned Artists”, a program that airs on Music Choice, a music channel available to cable and satellite television “listeners” across the country.

You Must Be Laughing (track number 3) and That Special Day (track number 4) cover the roller coaster of emotions one goes through when starting or ending a relationship. Cappuccino Dream (track number 5) was borne out of a crazy dream that Rick was able to capture in words and music. Hittin' Too Long (track number 9) was written about people who need to confront the truth about spousal abuse.

Rick recorded the Another Day In Paradise at Ocean Peek Studios in Dana Point, California and at The Loft Studio in Alpharetta, Georgia. He has formed his own record label, Hirsch Ebarr Music.

Who knew that junkies had such good taste in music? Larry Clark, who brought us the lo-fi, haute-cool Kids, turns his lens to mid-'70s drug culture and the low-lifers who skitter through the bad days and good highs. Far from a kitschy '70s throwback, this CD is stuffed with eccentric soul songs of disarming charisma. Allen Toussaint's "Soul Sister" is a loping ode to thigh-high boots, hairdos, and other head-turning allures. Clarence Carter can describe his big, wide polka-dot tie as a hunting implement in "Looking for a Fox." And thank God Otis Redding's "Hard to Handle" will outlast the smirking Black Crowes remake. N'Dea Davenport does a lovely job remaking Bob Dylan's "One More Cup of Coffee," but while her expert singing can replicate some of his more savage vocal runs, Dylan's later appearance on "Every Grain of Sand" reminds us how inexplicably appealing his voice is. Sure, the two albums following this may have been of better quality, but this is where it all began. Definitely worth having for anyone who can't get enough Strung Out, I had this one first, when it was first released, and I gave it the play time everyone now gives Twisted by Design. If you're like me, anything by Strung Out is worth hearing several times over -- even the old stuff. People just get spoiled by the new albums if that's what they know first, like anything else.

i used to own this album, but i sold it. For a strung out album and a fat band. It's actually not that good. It's lacks a lot of power that they have gained in the 3 realeases after this one. If you are a first time strung out buyer....buy twisted by design!!!! it is wonderful.

With the glut of awful skatecore bands plaguing the earth, it would be easy to pass off Strung Out as just another baggy-pants teenage fad. Well, this was their first effort for Fat Records, and their best. Back when they still had a slightly metal tinge to their sound that made them stand out. Nowadays, they're just another melodicore band in an overcrowded field of them, which is too bad. But many formerly decent bands have followed this path (Lagwagon) so it really isn't surprising. So if skatecore is your thing, any Strung Out album will do, but if you want to hear pre-"just another Fat band" Strung Out then pick this one up.

Although this is a good album in its own right, it just does not compare to Strung Out's latest album, Twisted by Design. Another Day in Paradise lacks the maturity and melody of Twisted by Design. I know that this was their first album, and gives a great insight into their talent, but if you want to hear a great punk album, I'd recommend that you by Twisted by Design rather than Another Day in Paradise. I own both albums, and rarely listen to Another Day in Paradise while Twisted by Design virtually lives in my CD player.

This CD wasn't great, i'll be honest. All i seem to hear from punk fans these days is how bands like NOFX, Lagwagon, Strung Out etc... started out good, but have just got worse and worse. In my opinion, these people could not be more wrong. How can anyone not like the new Lagwagon and NOFX cd's is beyond me. If people would just stop and listen to the melodies in such CD's then they would realise that change is not a bad thing. This CD was far too metal and not enough melody. Strung Out, stick to what you're doing at the moment!

Brandy, and Ray-J are not good duet partners, the first song they did together was cool. But this one, and the one they did on Brandy newest realease are not good.

I mean the song has very good lyrics, and I know it diffrent from Brandy, and Ray-J other songs. But Im' already not a big fan of Ray-J voice.

But the song is alright..I guess.

          This is the CD single of Phil Collins #1 smash hit "Another Day in Paradise". It won the 1990 Grammy for Record of the Year. David Crosby provides the backing vocal. The "b-side" is "Heat on the Street", which is another pretty good song. The CD also includes the short instrumental "Saturday Night and Sunday Morning". Here is the complete track listing:

          What makes a song seem to click upon the issue is very simple within its lyrics. For Phil Collins, he has definitely put those feelings aside with Another Day In Paradise. The song was the breakthrough track from But Seriously in 1989. What actually makes this song click, is a giant issue about homeless people. Unfortunately, we don't seem to do anything to help those less fortunate, especially after 9/11. The song and its message are still as strong as it was released in 1989. Still, I just hope that many people still think of that side from Phil, and can understand this song. It is just one of the most dynamic songs ever.

          Another Day In Paradise is one of the best songs Phil has ever recorded. It's been one of my favorite songs of all-time by anyone for many years.

          Don't let the title food you. The song is about how a pedestrian who sees a homeless man but completely ignores him as the lyrical line "He pretends he can't hear her".

          Truly one of the best songs that I've ever listened to and it is a timeless classic.

          "Another Day In Paradise" is a very touching song and I remember listening to it on the local radio station during my teenage years. It is still one of my all time favourite English songs.
