About the Artist
Van Wagner Courtesy, Appalachia Acoustics BIOGRAPHY

Since he was a child, Van Wagner has been singing, strumming, rambling, and picking his way through the hills of Pennsylvania. Now 24 years old with over one hundred original songs under his belt, and co-production of nine albums, Van has developed a unique style of musical expression. He has performed several times in Europe as well as all over the United States.

His style is a hybrid of influences from bluegrass to blues. His songs tell the story of growing up in rural America. Coal mining, iron milling, lumbering, religion, and farming all work their way into Wagner's songs. His hometown of Danville Pennsylvania is often the focus of his songs. Danville's people, places, and rich history continue to inspire Wagner to write about small town life.

Van is currently touring with the release of his newest album “Going Back To Bald Top.” The album was released in March of 2001 and features 16 new songs by Van.

5 out of 5 stars Musician to be watched! GREAT SINGER/SONGWRITER.......2001-10-10

There are few artists out there I truly appreciate, and even less that I can listen to day in and day out for weeks without playing someone else's music. However, I am glad to say that Van Wagner is one of those artists I just can't seem to get enough of. This album contains a nice mix of several varieties of music, with hints of bluegrass, blues, country, and others (admittedly, I don't even like most music from these genres- but this album is the exception), all blended into one concise album. This is a rare CD- the kind you listen to the first time, get hooked instantly, and keep coming back for more. Also, many artists write one good song, and then throw junk songs in to fill the album--you sure won't find that here either. Song after song--written and sung from the heart.
Definitely a five star album for a five star musician.
