About the Artist
My name is Terry Lynn Bell Lead singer. I started listen to gospel music at an early age. And I have always loved country music. My influence's are Hank Sr. & Hank Jr. also Travis Tritt. I also have influence's in rock. which are Buddy Holly & KISS. I also have influence's in blues. Which are B.B King. I have always admired the ones that have done there own thing. I really injoy writing my own music, but most of all I Love performing live. I have a wife who supports me in everything I do. Who is also my booking agent. I also realized on July 9, 2000 When I lost my father in a boating accident that life is truely short. I have a lot more music to be heard & I hope you injoy it.
Sincerely, Terry Lynn Bell

A Chorus Line may be better known, but Dreamgirls was a towering achievement for director Michael Bennett. Loosely based on the Supremes' story, the 1982 musical told a typical show-biz tale of fame, backbiting, and survival. As is often the case for one-night only events, the cast in this concert version (recorded in New York on September 24, 2001) is led by an eye-popping assortment of Broadway powerhouses: Lillias White (The Life), Audra McDonald (Ragtime, Marie Christine), and Heather Headley (Ragtime). McDonald reveals a previously undisclosed comic streak, while Headley confirms her status as a rising star. Reprising the role of Effie Melody White (created by Jennifer Holliday), White belts the classic "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going." But the beauty of Dreamgirls is that it's so packed with catchy, Motown-influenced R&B numbers that each lead can sink her teeth into some prime material and get a turn in the spotlight. This double-CD set really makes you wish you'd been there when the show was recorded: you can hear the crowd going berserk at times, and the temptation is strong to do the same thing in the comfort of your living room. --Elisabeth Vincentelli
Customer Reviews:
Dreamgirls 2001.......2007-06-27
This was the worst reproduction of Dreamgirls that I ever heard. I was so disappointed the CD went into the garbage. This is one CD that I would not sell to the public because I expect so much and get so little.
Not the real "DREAM" experience.......2007-04-04
Forget about the film sountrack. Get this CD set. And it's far better than the original cast recording which goes lacking. More songs and more everything that makes a live performance just what it is. Live (compared to film where anything can be done to enhance a performance!) -- the energy, the excitement and the performances make this a rare treat for anyone wanting to share in the real DREAM experience.
Isn't a full Broadway revival long over due. But wait: I've heard rumors that a rvial may be "in the works. I certainly hope so. Maybe this time it will receive the Tony award it deserved in the first place.
Absolutely brilliant!.......2007-01-28
There is atleast 5 new songs on this album that were not in the movie! These girls kill it I mean they are just amazing singers, and this all live! This is needed for any Dreamgirls fanatic like me! You are gonna love it! Enjoy! love live laugh :)
Amazing!!!!!!.......2006-12-04
As a theatre lover, this recording is amazing. I actually prefer this recording to the OBC. Sheryl Lee Ralph is okay, but can't touch Audra's Deena. The first time I heard Ms. White's "And I Am Telling You..", goosbumps all over my body. The only weak cast member in my opinon is Heather Headly. Vocally, she just isn't there. Too much Aida, not enough Dreamgirls. But all in all, a great live recording of a great show.
One Night Only .......2006-07-19
I was lucky enough to attend this One Night Only concert performance of Dreamgirls and it was a night I will never forget!! The cast was brilliant and the cd is as good if not better than the Broadway cast recording because it is the entire show not just the songs. Bravo to everyone involved !!!

Barrueco plays Lennon McCartney.......2007-03-20
A first-class CD. Excellent arrangements, especially with London Symphony on "Winding Road."
Brilliant arrangements and performance.......2007-03-06
Aside from the folks who would otherwise waste an opportunity to discuss the worthiness of this album, I fully endorse it as an example of a beautiful combination of excellent playing and superb composing. A good arranger finds the perfect balance between keeping honest to the original music and exploring/exploiting the inherent qualities within it through different means. That's precisely what occurs with this album. You're hard pressed to find better arrangements than the Takemitsu. Leo Brower shows a deft touch for string writing in his arrangements and again his writing for the guitar is spot on. The final two arrangements by Mr. Lubbock are interesting, yet straying further from their original inspiration than the other arrangements, still manage to capture that lovely balance.
There aren't enough accolades to give Maestro Barrueco whose precision and musicianship are nearly unmatched (still a close second to Pepe Romero in my book). An excellent and interesting purchase for guitar, strings, and Beatles lovers alike.
hmm..........2002-02-05
Um... for the record: All the Beatle songs other than those composed by George Harrison or Ringo Starr were credited to "Lennon-McCartney" or "John Lennon and Paul McCartney" by prior agreement of John Lennon and Paul McCartney, whether they actually collaborated (as they did in many cases) or one of them worked by himself.
John Lennon wrote Ticket To Ride, Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, A Hard Day's Night, and You've Got To Hide Your Love Away.
Paul McCartney wrote Yesterday, Here, There, And Everywhere, Fool On The Hill, Penny Lane, Hey Jude, and The Long And Winding Road.
John Lennon and Paul McCartney collaborated on Eleanor Rigby, She's Leaving Home, and Michelle.
Again ?.......1999-12-05
This is not the first CD on this site where you try to convince us that John wrote The fool on the hill and other songs written by Paul.I really can't believe you're so uninformed.

Highly pleasing reissue of latter-day Kendalls LP.......2003-04-17
By the time of this late-80s recording, this father-daughter duo had already hit their peak popularity on the charts (documented nicely on Varese's 1999 collection "16 Greatest Hits") with breakouts like 1977's "Heaven's Just a Sin Away" and 1984's "Thank God for the Radio." Jeannie's lead vocals rendered in a fetching, high-lonesome voice, blended magically with her father's baritone.
While producer Buddy Killan (who worked with Doug Kershaw, Joe Tex, and many others) moved Jeannie more to the foreground for the sessions that resulted in this album, the familial harmonies are still the music's selling point. The mix of classics (including Buck Owens' "Crying Time," Harlan Howard's "Pick Me Up on Your Way Down," and Felice & Boudleaux Bryant's "Bye Bye Love") and then-contemporary songs from the likes of Max D. Barnes (including the fine title track, and a reworking of the Kendalls' earlier hit "Thank God for the Radio") and Kevin Welch ("I'd Rather Dance With You") show how broadly the duo's hard-country harmonies could succeed.
Though the album's chart success was minor (a cover of Don Gibson's "Blue Blue Day" reached #69), this is a perfect example of how artists can remain vital even as the spotlight of popularity fades. It's especially impressive that the Kendalls' and their producer didn't chase after commercial success by changing their sound. Instead, they retained the integrity of their vocals, loaded up the tracks with fiddle, pedal steel and twangy guitars, and produced one of the best albums of their career. Hats off to Varese for rescuing this one from the vault!

Great Single.......2005-07-30
Just the original version of this song is good enough reason to purchase this. The remixes & w/e are okay but nothing special. If u really like this song but dont wanna spend the money for just 1 song....Get "Lest we Forget" (mansons "best") which contains this track.
Awesome song.......2004-06-14
This is a very very cool song (although i wouldnt pay $10 for it!) One of the wierdest songs ive ever heard come out of Manson, as well. If you want the music video instead, buy God Is In the T.V. which includes all of his music videos.
"I wanna live, I wanna love..."--Mar1lyn Man5on.......2003-03-02
Good set o' songs on this lil' single. If you're a real fan o' Mar1lyn Man5on, go buy his book. It has the same title.

One of Manson's finest..........2002-05-14
The song is "THE Long Hard Road Out Of Hell" not "It's" like it is enterend here on Amazon. But anyways, it is really a unique sounding song done for "The Spawn" soundtrack. The song really has catchy lyrics and the expression that is Marilyn Manson. Something you should own as a fan. The video clip ( it appears on the videotape "God is in the TV") also shows Manson's equally unique artistic side. He is trully a creative artist.
Could've Been Better.......2001-06-04
This song bridges the gap between AntiChrist Superstar and Mechanical Animals. Overall, one of Manson's best songs and videos. However, what the ...is Korn doing on here?! The remixes are alright.

Disappointing.........2006-06-29
Not worth the money or time and trouble ordering this product. I just did not like it!!!!
Yes, Jazz but no much.......2006-02-24
This CD is very smooth to ear. The player trio is fine. The flute (Elena Duran) is more present on Beatles music, Grapelli (violin) presents a splendid violin solo on Bach music (his Air On A G String violin solo is unforgettable). The jazzistic components are presented by bass, drums and piano, but they're not enough to give a genuine jazz touch to this disc, I think so. If you want mor jazzistic features for Bach and Beatles music, you must ear Swingle Singers and Jacques Loussier.
More jazz than Bach.......2004-05-20
Given the title of this album, I was expecting arrangements of a baroque nature; that's not what they've done, however. There are renditions of 19 Beatles tunes done in a style that is largely of the light, sprightly jazz variety, and a similar treatment of a theme from Bach's Brandenburg No. 2. If you like this kind of thing, the recording quality is excellent and the players are good at what they do; the performance is very fluid (to my ear) and the sound is crisp. It is not, however, a baroque adaptation of modern material; the style of performance is merely shifted from rock to acoustical jazz ensemble with embellishments to match. Unfortunately, the moods of the original pieces do not always match the moods of the versions here, and some of the arrangements venture off into other styles in places as well. If I hadn't been expecting something else, I'd probably have liked this CD more.
Papa Bach boogies! Oh, yeah!.......2004-04-06
You are welcome to the Beatles cuts on this CD. The Bach tracks are what make it worth the price.
Don't get me wrong. I love the Beatles, but honestly, the works of Lennon and McCartney do not easily adapt to the jazz trio style. It's more like being pummeled into submission. What's left is better heard in a vertically moving metal booth with a panel of numbered buttons next to its automatic sliding doors (OK, OK, I'll say it! It's ELEVATOR MUSIC!). ::whew::
The Bach selections, quite the opposite, are as at home with a cup of strong black coffee at a bistro table for two as they are on a picnic with an 8-piece spicy chicken dinner from Popeye's (red beans and rice, please). It's only right. Bach was, after all, such an improviser that some of his compositions consist of 2 or 3 chords. It was up to the performer to put SOMETHING between those chords.
When these recordings were originally released on the Angel Records digital LP "Brandenburg Boogie," the titular track was the opening salvo. Here, it's saved for last and very well indeed it serves as a finale to the works that precede it.
"Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" sways in a hammock nudged by the breezes of Stephane Grappelli's violin and Elena Duran's flute while Laurie Holloway's piano work sparkles like sunlight filtering through the leaves.
"Groovy Gavotte," based on the Gavotte from French Suite for keyboard No. 5 in G major struts along like an iron-pumping peacock with attitude. Grappelli sits this one out while Duran plays straight lady to Holloway's key-pounding improvisation evocative of that peacock whomping the snot out of a hawk that tried to have him for lunch.
Everyone who records Bach records "Air on the G String." Maybe it's some kind of RIAA reguirement but here, the most mellow cut on the whole disc, is where the whole trio seems to be at their most adventurous. Even Duran nudges her flute outside the dots and lines more than on any other cut.
The Minuet from the Little Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach returns to the norm with Duran once again playing the melody as straight as an arrow while Holloway comes back with the kinds of electric piano riffs you only hear in those previously smoke-filled jazz clubs.
The aria from Cantata No. 30 starts off like a ride in a swing at the park but soon soars over town like a hot-air balloon. Duran's octave leap on the closing bars is a true high point of the disc.
What do you do when you have only one violin but you're playing a movement from the "Double" Violin Concerto? You have Elena play one violin part on her flute while Stephane rocks on his violin and Laurie rolls on his keyboards. Yes, it's been done on classical recordings before but never like this.
The Gigue in B flat major gives the listener and the performers a chance to cool down with a stretch. Once more, one notes Duran's careful note-for-note playing contrasted by Grappelli's sonic leaps and bounds.
The other must-record piece is "Wauchet Auf". Grappelli's improvisation dances around Duran's presentation of the melody. Then, Stephane takes center stage and challenges Laurie to a violin versus electric piano showdown at twenty paces. Who wins? Does it matter?
The Sicilienne from the Sonata for harpsichord and flute exudes an air of mystery and lulls the listener into a sort of calm before a musical storm of Bayou hurricane proportions.
That storm arrives when the trio gets down on "Brandenburg Boogie", modeled after the first movement of the second Brandenburg Concerto. In its original form, the piece was once described as "Dixieland Baroque," all the more fitting for this performance. Grappelli and Holloway provide the most raucous moments while Duran's flute keeps order. Everything culminates in a sort of musical "Oh, yeah!" that leaves the listener both invigorated and out of breath.
interesting.......2002-06-20
This mix of baroque touch and beatle melody results in true pleasure for the ear.

Album Description
This record is complex and challenging, but equally rewarding to those who make the effort. The prize? A trip into a man's psyche and the quiet intensity therein.
This project is an amalgam of talents: the music of renegade Ohio composer John Howell Morrison, and performed by the universally acclaimed Intergalactic Contemporary Ensemble (fresh from the world tour promoting "I Dig" Innova 548). Under the direction of the original madman in the rain, Duane Schulthess, they bring to life Morrision's compositions with a resilient brilliance.
One of the freshest voices in American music, John Howell Morrison is no stranger to struggle. His new release on innova, Hard Weather Makes Good Wood, is a fantastical synthesis of the American South, the ferocious chops of the performers, and a creamy blend of electronic and acoustic media.
Combine these elements into a seamless whole and you get a heady, hearty, challenging sound world that shows us a glimpse of the future of chamber music. Morrison has character in buckets and reminds us that surviving life's storms is what builds us up. Through it all, hard weather makes good wood. Music shouldn't be easy, and this isn't but the rewards are so worth it.
