AMAZING! She is so much better live!.......2006-12-02
This CD rocks! This is Sarah Brightman on her Harem World Tour, and this performance was recorded at her stop in Las Vegas. The first two tracks, "Kama Surta" and "Harem Overture" debut from her newest album, entitled HAREM. The two tracks are connected, but in the actual Harem Tour, the full piece "Harem" is sung. If you go to www.youtube.com and type in "Harem Tour" in the Search Bar, you can see live videos. I would prefer that the album has placed "Harem" instead of these other two tracks. The third track, "It's A Beautiful Day", is from Madame Butterfly, written by Puccini. This version is Brightman's twist, which some more pop and some English. It's pretty cool. The fourth track on the album, "Dust in the Wind" is from EDEN, an amazing album. Track 5 is, "Who Wants to Live Forever", and it seems as though Brightman never creates a tour without putting this piece in it. It's a beautiful tribute to Queen's rendition. Track Six is "Anytime, Anywhere", also from EDEN. I'm not really into the Foreign Language - English songs, but this works very well, especially because she ends the song with the classical foreign language. The seventh track is Brightman's rendition of Dvorak's "Song to the Moon", or "La Luna". The track is beautiful! The eighth track is Puccini's "Nessun Dorma", and Sarah masters this beautifully! There is no other soprano I know that can sing this piece one octave up and can hold the ending note for ever!!! Track 9 is "The War is Over", which is followed by "Free", both from HAREM. Track 11 is "A Whiter Shade of Pale", from LA LUNA. It's beautiful to listen to. Sarah's version is very gentle, but has a lot of energy in the chorus. The twelfth track on this album is "Twisted Every Way", followed by an instrumental version of "The Phantom of the Opera" Theme. The next track is "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again", which is extended at the end, in which you hear some men cry out "WE LOVE YOU SARAH!", and she responds cutely with an, "I love you, too." The audience laughs! Track 14 is "Time to Say Goodbye", the duet that made Andrea Bocelli famous, and skyrocketed as the number one single sold in German history! The last live track on the album is "A Question of Honour", from "Fly", which is awesome! The last track on the album is a bonus track, which I don't really prefer. However, the whole album is simply amazing. I much prefer Sarah when she is live. She has a more magical quality! If you love Sarah Brightman, then you will love this album.
ALSO RECOMMENDED : Since there is so much Sarah Brightman to choose from, I also recommend EDEN, TIME TO SAY GOODBYE, LA LUNA, CLASSICS, and DIVA.

Inspiring, Beautiful and The Sweetest Voice!.......2005-08-21
What an album, absolutly beautiful!
We, the fans of this great artist finelly have in our hands a live album, and it's amazing:
-The voice is totaly live, she sang about 24 complete songs in the show, but the album only contains 15.
-Snow In The Sahara is a lovely song.
If you have the chase of get this alubum, don't doubt and get it; It wond disapoint you!
astounding performance.......2005-06-07
an impeccable concert experience that successfully elevates the album to majestic heights. I had long been a fan of Dead Can Dance and the unparalleled work of Lisa Gerrard. When Sarah Brightman ventured into these Middle Eastern sounds on the Harem disc, I thought it was too derivative of the Dead Can Dance sounds (there is even a sample used on one of SB's songs that had previously been used within DCD).
However, experiencing this epic and intensely mystical concert compelled me to realize the individual and unique glory of Sarah Brightman. Also, this concert is so phenomenally entertaining at many levels that I couldn't help but fall absolutely in love with the special magic of Sarah Brightman. Obviously, the expansive Middle Eastern milieu can accommodate more than one angelic vocalist!
I now consider Lisa Gerrard and Sarah Brightman to be geniuses who both warrant goddess status in the pantheon of lyrical greats. To see either one of them perform live is surely one of the most powerful and memorable sensory experiences one could ever have!
Great, of course.......2005-03-18
Sarah's voice and style are terrific, as usual. However, I have to say that her version of Anggun's "Snow on the Sahara" is fairly bland, especially compared to the original Anggun version. Sarah has the chops but lacks soul on this great song. Everything els here is very nice.

Patricia Kaas is proud of her stance as a unique chanteuse, and her individuality is clearly highlighted on this CD, recorded in Paris and London with an impressive selection of first-rate musicians. She demonstrates her musicality in unusually vigorous and varied interpretations. Not afraid to challenge her audiences, Kaas dares to mix genres as different as a piano quartet and a bal musette accordion on the same disc. She can, on "JoJo," sound like the reincarnation of Edith Piaf, but she also succeeds in putting her own personal stamp on such Piaf classics as "La Vie en Rose." On this disc, she essays two songs in English, but her distinctive charm is revealed more clearly in her breathless rendition of "Reste Sur Moi." --Ed Killham
Album Description

The best and original European female singer in the Nineties.......2004-12-19
The strong presence and magnetic charisma of that outstanding vocalist can be felt even by the most candid listener. Gifted with a wide frequency voice , she may be well displace for several rhythms and musical territories with any problem . Every track is new experience .
From Hotel Normand for instance to Kennedy Rose or the outstanding theme Mademoiselle chante le blues to Entrer dans la lumiere are formidable and eloquent performed.
I guess to assist to one of her live performances must be simply terrific and hallucinating .
Buy this album and will obtain much more than the simple sum of the tracks .
Patricia, je te dis tu es belle. Et l'album aussi.......2003-10-28
There's more nightclub torch ballads here and less blues than on Scene De Vie, and there are times when her voice does match Bonnie Tyler's for soulful intensity, if not roughness. Tour De Charme begins with the music-box like "Y'Avait Tant D'Etoiles" before going into the piano torch ballad "A Saint Lunaire", which is a special place "because happiness is fragile/pull a thread and it's undone."
The moody "Je Retiens Mon Souffle" has shadings of an 80's ballad, prominent piano mixed with some bossa nova. One of the three standout tracks here.
A bluesy sax begins Patricia's comforting ode to the downtrodden and unlucky, "Ceux Qui N'Ont Rien" which has a steady drum and at times, an electric guitar. She is backed on the chorus by a brass section and the intensity of her voice is supported by backing vocalist: "Let me sing/for those who have nothing/let me think/that there is still someone/who tries to give something good." This line really caught my attention, yes, another theme to this reviewer: "When you've seen your life slip by/and you've felt guilty all this time/you wonder if it wouldn't be better/being someone else."
Then comes the standout track, "Il Me Dit Que Je Suis Belle", which is an 80's ballad in the manner of Heart, John Waite or Alias with the electric guitars, synths and backbeat, with a Mutt Lange-like sheen. Her voice really wails a storm in the climactic end, awash with electric guitars and keyboards. She's dreaming of her ideal man, but sadly, that's where he is: in her dreams. Key line: "But the nights are my churches/and in my dreams I believe."
She then covers Maxi Priest's "Shape In My Heart", originally on his Bonafide album, done in her torch ballad style with accompanying piano. Her voice is just as resonant in English, as it is in French. Not bad.
"La Liberte" is a song on the homeless, refugees from Gabon for example, whose song is "Freedom/you won't find it next door/Freedom/it's at the end of the world."
Another sad torch ballad, "Fatiguee D'Attendre", of an emotionally-killing silence, and how to break the ice. The "tired of waiting" refers to tender words never spoken.
Her voice takes on a deep timbre in "Jojo", where the title character is "the king of the bars" who's drinking to forget someone, but the chanteuse knows something that will allow him to remember, not that he'd care.
Then comes her cover of Edith Piaf's "La Vie En Rose," which is done in the same slow tempo as Piaf or even Audrey Hepburn's rendition in Sabrina. A nice touch is added with the piano and violin.
The melody of "Je Dis Te Vous" could've been good for Sade's Diamond Life, although Sade would've tuned down the heavy instrumentation.
"Reste Sur Moi" has a nocturnal ambience with upbeat prominent bass and keyboards reminiscent of Sade's "Never As Good As The First Time."
The English sung "It's A Man's World", the James Brown number, states that despite the patriarchal world, "it wouldn't be nothing, nothing/without a woman or a girl." Without them, man would be "lost in the wilderness" and "lost in the bitterness"... like me. She recites the verses but sings up a storm on the chorus.
The quiet synth ballad "Entrer Dans La Lumiere" features a gospelish chorus after the bridge. It's a bit jarring to find English lyrics and not the French, especially as all but two of the songs are sung in French. However, I'll list the titles in French and then the English translation, where applicable:
Y'Avait Tant D'Etoiles: There Were So Many Stars
A Saint-Lunaire: In Saint Luniere
Je Retiens Mon Souffle: Holding My Breath
Ceux Qui N'Ont Rien: For Those Who Have Nothing
Il Me Dit Que Je Suis Belle: He Tells Me I'm Beautiful
Space In My Heart
La Liberte: Freedom
Fatiguee D'Attendre: Weary of Waiting
Jojo
La Vie En Rose: Life All Rosy
Je Te Dis Vous: I Say [To] You
Reste Sur Moi: Rest On Me
It's A Man's World
Entrée Dans La Lumiere: Coming Into The Light
A strong and worthy followup to Scene De Vie, showing Kaas expanding her styles, but never losing her vocal prowess or position as France's chanteuse of the 90's. Tres bien, Patricia. Et Je Te Dis Tu Es Belle.
A perfect present for a good conversation ........2003-01-06
2002 , Desember 31 , 11 pm ... Russian Christmas 1 hour away... My TV decided to take a breake and refused to show any signs of life . I put this CD on and had a very good conversation with my girlfriend to celebrate the New Year ... Thank you P.K.
No wonder why she is so popular in Russia . She reminds me of Sade , just different ... and French is a beatiful language . Well deserved 5 stars .
Superb.......2003-01-05
All right, I'm biased. Kaas has been a favorite of mine for probably the last decade, if not longer. She has the most amazing voice, so full and rich, and she manages English and French songs equally well (even though she'll always be a quintessentially French artist). This album was my absolute favorite in college, and I still go back to it, particularly to the beautiful ballad Je Te Dis Vous, which is just SUCH a beautiful song (and, if you know a bit of French, the words are great, too). Other than that, JoJo is very good (a little Russian, even), as are La Liberte, full of very native rhythm, and the bluesy Laissez-Moi Chanter. In general, a great compilation of songs from a lovely and talented singer.
Nice, but buy the French version "Je te dis vous" instead.......2002-02-10
This is a beautiful album indeed, but my first caveat is that -- in comparison with French release entitled "Je te dis vous" -- getting Mlle Kaas's version of "La vie en rose" is not compensation for getting a VASTLY inferior arrangement and version of one of her biggest hits ever "Il me dit que je suis belle." I bought the English release first and the song made no impression, and then with then French release I heard how powerful and transcendent it is. If you already like this song, you will not believe your ears when you hear the version on "Je te dis vous." The English album also omits the very pop "Hôtel Normandy" and an odd-ball German rocker "Ganz und Gar."
Otherwise, it's a well-integrated musical collection spanning French cabaret tradition, Piaf-inspired vocalism, the drive of rock, with blues at its heart. Songs like the omitted "Hôtel Normandy" and "Je te dis vous" (following her signature tune "Mademoiselle chante les blues" from her first album) are excessive in their self-regarding posture -- the performer's world view, alternately gutsy and winsome -- but, it IS great music. "La liberté" and "Jojo" are more convincing, touching on more universal themes, yet they bear the indescribable Frenchness that one associates with Juliette Gréco. How satisfying it is to have something new that reminds one intuitively of old favorites.
The English songs (included in the French album) are performed creditably, even memorably, but the material isn't quite as arresting and come off as blues exercises. I'm sure her ability to communicate in English will improve, but we need her in French.

The line between evangelist and entertainer has always been somewhat indistinct. But as showcased on this 43-track, double-disc collection culled from his '87-'96 recordings for Elektra/Nonesuch/Atlantic, Michael Feinstein's dedication to spreading the gospel of the American song often blurs it beyond recognition. While the singer's pedigree for the task is impeccable (a long-term stint as Ira Gershwin's assistant and early career sponsorship by Liza Minnelli), his interpretations often succeed by playing off a tense axis of fervent emotionalism and a joyous sense of irreverence.
If his readings of romantic standards can sometimes tend toward the precious, they're often balanced here by sheer dramatic power and telling insights ("Isn't It Romantic" fairly bristles with ironic chauvinism) and a few loopy curves ("The Mole People," the Sherman Brothers' "The Ugly Bug Ball," and the previously unreleased "Rhode Island Is Famous for You"). Feinstein's dedicated song archaeology is also showcased on several gems: "Violin," a duet with Liza Minnelli; "My Favorite Year," a rejected ballad for the film of that name; the sublime "lost" Gershwin classic "Ask Me Again."
Sprinkled with live performances (the forum where Feinstein's talents seem most energized) and studio outtakes and featuring a lengthy print interview with the singer, the set chronicles both the pioneering efforts of one of pop music's most successful revivalists and, crucially, the cream of his beloved American songwriters, from stalwarts Gershwin, Berlin, and Porter to later legends like Herman, Styne, Lane, Martin, and Mercer. --Jerry McCulley

Mixed feelings.......2005-10-05
This album has some GREAT songs on it; sophisticated swing being one of my favorites. However many of the other songs are too operatic and lame. I give three stars but this album is definatly worth it just for some of the better songs.
Your love for this superb collection will be here to stay..........2002-07-18
The magnificently talented Michael Feinstein has made one wonderful album after another for nearly two decades. Now that Elektra and Rhino have put together this anthology, I am blown away by the versatility and diversity in Feinstein's recorded output. Such amazing rare gems, combined with the most beloved favorites in the history of American Popular Song. Assembled with wit, intelligence, and obvious affection on the part of the record company, this set is a keeper. You'll love it!
He's done it again.......2002-07-15
Is there anything this man can't sing? This collection is so varied as to be the definitive collection of songs for any occassion.
This is perfect background music for a dinner party for a whole group but especially for two. Light, romantic and just gorgeous. You just can't go wrong when Michael Feinstein is your musical choice.
Way to go Michael, you've done it again!
Absolutely 'S WONDERFUL!.......2002-06-10
There are very few contemporary performers who can hold their own with the truly great interpreters of American popular song. Michael Feinstein is truly the ONLY performer of the "younger" generation who really understands what these songs are all about. His incredible knowledge of this music, and his enthusiasm and passion for it have fueled his career. Rhino Records has done a truly outstanding job of putting together an anthology that exemplifies why Mr. Feinstein has become so beloved by audiences around the world. The packaging is excellent, and filled with interesting photos and background information about many of the selections.
This collection not only contains all the favorites one would expect, but a neat group of surprises too. I especially love the duets with people like Liza Minnelli and Rosemary Clooney, and the various collaborative efforts with songwriters like Jule Styne and Burton Lane accompanying Michael at the piano.
This collection is a classic to be treasured. Bravo Michael!
Bravo Rhino!
A beautiful 2 disc CD-another hit for Michael.......2002-06-09
I have every CD Michael has ever made and this is by far one of the best ones because of Michael's range in singing and his wonderful singing voice. I love his duets with Rosemary Clooney and Liza Minelli. He is a wonderful performer on this double CD and am looking foward to the next CD.

Album Description
Germany's Helloween are undeniably one of the most influential heavy metal bands to emerge from Europe during the 1980s. By taking the harmonies and structure of classic bands like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest and infusing them with the urgency and energy of the growing thrash metal movement, Helloween created something unique and truly embody the essence of 'power metal'. The band remains a strong force today, as proven on this new double CD, Keeper Of The Seven Keys: The Legacy World Tour 2005-2006 Live on 3 Continents. Captured live in Sao Paulo, March 25th, 2006 during their latest global trek, this release is a must for any fan of fantastic Heavy Metal.
Customer Reviews:
great live album by a great band.......2007-04-04
This album sounds great, the song "the king for a 1000 years" its amazing live(yeah 13 minutes with 17 seconds) the track list is magnificent and no question why did they choose brazil, brazilian audience has a lot of energy, they make you feel there all through the album...good job helloween!
Excellent performance by an excellent band.......2007-03-01
Helloween has allways been a great melodic metal band; 1 year ago they released the "Keeper Legacy" album, in my opinion one of their best (if not their very best). This Live album couldn't come out in a better time; For those who like this band, you dont have to think about getting it. The performance was great, the sound quality simply terrific and the track selection almost perfect (excpet for some songs that you really come to miss). I had the chance to see one of the shows of this tour in Europe, and when I heard this for the first time, I almost thought that the guys were playing in front of me again. And dont miss the tracks of the past "Keeper" album performed by Andy Deris and with the sound quality of these days. A great experience for a metal fan. I seriously doubt that you can go wrong with this.
Amazing live album!!!.......2007-02-27
One of the best Live metal albums ever. Helloween are amazing, great set list, amazing sound, great vox a perfect concert!!! The energy from the crowd that this band draws is also unparalled.
Happy Happy Helloween oh oh oh oh.......2007-02-22
This album shows just how powerful Helloween sounds when they play live specially in front of an amazing crowd like Sao Paulo. If you close your eyes and listen to this record you can feel being part of the audience. One thing I dont like so much about this record, is that some songs are over 10 minutes , when they could easily could have chosen to play some shorter songs, but they decided to play mostly songs from the Keeper of the Keys albums. Best treat....I Want Out...just listen to the crowd!

Magical.......2002-06-19
From the intense, swing rhythms of Indescretions and Nawlins to the very enjoyable Bimoya and Lost Tribes, this album is fantastic. Even though many of the vocals in the songs are in other languages, they still flow well and convey a universal meaning. I guarantee you that you will enjoy every minute of World Tour. Get it as soon as possible. (no matter who you are!)
zawinul is a musical god.......2001-07-21
Coming from Austria it therefore shouldn't surprise anyone that this gentleman is THAT good. Inheriting a legacy of other genius classical music composer...WOW! In my reckoning, he is probably the greatest jazz-world-music Caucasian composers ever. And, undoubtedly the best synthesiser master. Check out "Indiscretions", damn, the build up, the conversation with Richard Bona, another genius, I'm glad to be alive to be able to listen to music this good. My dream for this band, let Bona come back and play alongside Victor Bailey a la Henry Threadgill and Ornette Coleman kinda line-up...and with, to boot, Wayne or Steve Coleman. Ouch! We wait for more fom the master himself. Signing out from South Africa.
mostly slammin'.......2001-07-02
I saw them on this tour in summer '97 and it was a mostly cookin' / slammin' show . There were some technical difficulties that Joe was having with his keyboards from the humidity.. ( was an outdoor show in the dead of the Pittsburgh summer here ) . He was grumbling and cursing his gear out at times .. hehehe.. it was amusing ... But... yea.. as other people on here have noted ... Paco, the drummer is a good player ... knows when to play and when not to and has that uniquely African sense of accentuation that I haven't heard since Manu Katche` ( drummer with peter gabriel , sting , robbie robertson and others ) ... Manolo Badrena is really the other good half of Paco though, playing off him with wonderful bemusement , .... Manolo is perhaps the best hand percussionist i've ever heard... and seen ... he sang a few tracks when I saw them as well ... If there's any complaint I have about this release is that it's perhaps too much of the African aesthetic and not enough jazz fusion as Joe is better known for ... I think he got a little too obsessed with being Mister-World Music . I feel he also relies on the vocoder ( a device that makes his voice sound harmonic and strange ) too much ... He's better suited in the post-Miles Davis/ post Weather Report thing in my opinion ... He oughta leave the African entendres to others I think ... As well... a few of the tracks that are comprised of just Joe playing his keys are a lot too elevator-music -cum sing - songy mamby pamby---.... " Sunday Morning/Sunday Evening " being one of them ... The track ' Success ' with the spoken word poetry comes off a little out of place as well , a little too spooky for the collective vibe of the rest of the cds . " When there was royalty" is another track that feels and seems out of place on this 2 cd set, being a monaurally-recorded single piano performance piece that was done in a studio and had nothing to do with the live show ... this piece would better be suited on a piano/unplugged only sort of release from Joe Zawinul . But overall ... this is as close to what Weather Report did live as any other release that I know of ( as far as live stuff ) . I wish Joe would release more live Syndicate stuff ... this set teases me for more ... There is talk of Columbia Records releasing a boxset with a bunch of not heard before Weather Report .... that should be dazzling ....
BLENDS WORLD MUSIC AND FUNK ALA WEATHER REPORT.......1999-05-02
THIS 2CD PACKAGE CAPTURES THE ESSENCE OF A BAND PLAYING THEIR SOCKS OFF IN A LIVE SETTING REMINISCENT OF WEATHER REPORT IN THEIR HAYDAY..PACO SERRY IS THE 'WARHEAD' IN THIS LINEUP, BUT THE ENTIRE BAND GEL SUBLIMELY, WITH FUNK GROOVES AND WORLD MUSIC, FIRE & WATER, LIGHT & SHADE.. THE IMPROVISATIONAL PASSAGES ARE RICH WITH EXERPTS FROM PREVIOUS ZAWINUL ANECTODES. A MUST FOR ANY LISTENER WHO ENJOYED WEATHER REPORT.
