Way beyond BOYBAND are...........2007-06-09
I've enjoyed the Moffatts's music since they were kids. It's been great watching them grow up, and following to their developing musical sophistication. This is the Moffatts "Comming of Age" album, and it's music will stand the test of time. The Moffatts were never some fake "boyband" put together by some fat gay bald guy and sold to music industry mogals like a blue plate special. No--the Moffatts were the REAL thing, and always their own true originals. This CD is must have for any contemporary collection as far as I'm concerned, an enjoyable listen over and over again.
A good change.......2005-04-18
I'm sorry to hear that today, the guys have broken up. But I can understand because they were the typical brothers going throug the typical changes. You could obviously tell as they grew that they were going through changes because their music changed and evolved. This is a great album. I am more into the more rock and roll and deep songs like "Just another phase" "antifreeze and aeroplanes" "Spy" and "Destiny" because they dig into these guys emotions and they played great rock and roll in these songs. I love "antifreeze and aeroplanes" because the bridge just goes through a total change and adds flavor to the song. (Especially with Clint's great bass playing and Scott's vocals that blend in with him saying "falling" over and over again). But my absolute favorite song is "Spy". I love the bass line, the guitar, the drums, and Dave's interesting keyboard effects. Clint's bass solo definitely is the best part of that song. I give this album 4 stars and not 5 because i saw these guys perform live and their music sounds 10 times as better than on c.d. I wish they sound on c.d how they sound live. These guys were great musicians at a young age who grew up in front of the world. I don't see why everyone compares them to hanson. The Moffatts were better musicians and vocalists. Their music was on a totally different and more mature page. The only comparison is the fact that these two bands were brothers. Because Hanson sucks
Evolution..........2004-07-15
I (being an extreme teeny bopper at the time) bought this C.D the day it came out. I was surprised. It wasn't at all like their previous C.D (or C.Ds, rather). Clearly, the Moffatts had evolved. For obvious reasons, seeing as how so much changed when you're a teenager, including music. The vocals, lyrics, and instrument playing on this C.D far outshines that on Chapter 1. Everything is a bit more mature. And this C.D has a great mix. It's not like they went totally heavy metal to prove themselves the anti-boyband. They've got a couple of boybandish ballads on it in fact, but they're really good. It's for those who like pop, rock, alternative, soft rock, and oldies. It's as though they've combined all of these styles to form one amazing C.D. I miss them! I'm sure whatever other C.Ds they may have put out would've been as great as Submodalities.
Anyways, this C.D, remains to this day 4 years later, one of my favorites.
The Moffatts Prevail.......2003-09-23
Their best album by far. I own it and I love it - the first one I had got so worn out (literally) that I had to get a new one. And believe me, it is worth every penny. If you haven't gotten this yet- DO IT! What are you waiting for? The rock sound mixed with a new twist on pop lyrics are a must for everyone.
Boypop what?.......2003-08-28
I seriously dig this album. I mean, of course I do, I *love* teenybopper pop. C'mon. Remember what a cute sixteen-year-old Scott Moffatt was, with the mess of brown and blond hair? Of course you do. On Submodalities, The Moffatts have finally gone beyond having the words "Love" and "Crazy" in all their song titles, and the melodies are complex and pretty while the lyrics have a sometimes introspective, sometimes tongue-in-cheek tone. Submodalities is a nice growing-up album for the boys. Too bad they "broke up." Ah well. You can still drive to their music, and you can't exactly say that for everyone.

AMAZING MOFFATTS.......2005-10-07
This album is amazing, another hit from those four awesome brothers with more talent than anyone could comprehend. I'm a fan of over tens years and counting. I Love every song on the album, each song is special in it's own way. If ya listen well enough you'll feel The Moffatts talking to you through them. It's amazing, there is a song on the album everyone can enjoy, pop, to edger, to the romantic! If this scale went up higher, they'd be at least a 100. Keep up with the awesome music guys!!

I'm 13, and haven't listened to this CD since I was about 11 because I think I lost it, but I've started downloading the songs again. I still remember how great it was. Their latest CD "Submodalities" is a bit better, but this one brings back great memories. The best song is "Saying I love you".

Well, another 5 star review for the Moffatts, what can I say? They are the best! It's not like the newer stuff, this is the pop phase. If you like harder songs, go GET SUBMODALITIES.
1. Wild At Heart - it's a cool song, not one of my FAVORITES, but I love the chorus.
2. Miss You Like Crazy - I like this song, it's sweet and Dave's voice *drools*
3. Say'n I Love You - it's a ska song. Definately a change with a french horn.
4. Girl Of My Dreams - Scott! ;D This is a sappy love song. It's sweet! ;D
5. Crazy - I love this song! :D It's UPBEAT and the guitars are cool.
6. Don't Walk Away - I like the intro to the song, Dave's voice, again! ;D AH! Well, it's a sweet ballad and the chorus and melody, harmonizing are perfect.
7. Now & Forever - I do NOT see why Moffatt fans have such a problem with this song. I love this song. ESP. the intro!
8. Love - it's a sweet ballad, Scott wrote it and you'd fall for it if he ever sang it to you ;D
9. I'll Be There For You - a lot poppy. If you're not into heavy pure pop. You won't be into this.
10. Girl I'm Gonna Get You - this is another sweet song. I guess the title tells you the theme.
11. We Are Young - I like this song. It's about following your dreams... "If you only believe that everything you want is not so far away"
12. If Life Is So Short - I LOVE this song, it's about loving someone before the chance is up.
13. Jump - I like this song, it's a party song, more than any of the others.
BRILLIANT.......2001-07-30
The Moffatts have always had my heart and will keep it. This band is an amazing quartet of young brothers. They have tons of talent and should be more recognized in the music industry. They all play they're own instraments and have wonderful voices. I admire them very much. This band is definitly going to take it to the top. They're awesome. It's great to be their fan.

Transformation.......2003-09-23
This was a huge step in the right direction for the Moffatts as a band and as people. From ballads like "I Miss You Like Crazy" to rock sounds such as "Wild at Heart" this will fit any mood you may be in.
A really great, slightly different album.......2002-07-21
I think the Moffatts are a great group. They wrote, or co-wrote most of the songs on this CD, and the songs, therefore, reflect the group in a way that singing other composer's songs don't necessarily do. The boys were young when they recorded this album, and you can hear that in their voices. Yet they still manage to produce an amazing harmony when they sing. They play all their own instruments, and that makes the CD just a little sweeter. This CD is way more Pop than their later release Submodalities (which is a great CD as well), and is worth a listen if you like good pop music with a little edge to it.
Not a copy of Hanson........2002-05-05
I've had this CD for two years, and I still enjoy putting it in my stereo and blasting it. They show their difference from Hanson. Though many of the songs on this CD are sappy, they still have awesome rthyms and amazing talent. And for the girl who said Hanson was out in 92, maybe as a garage band.. besides, The Moffatts were a signed group by 1989. I'm a Hanson fan, and a Moffatt fan, and these two are complete opposites. Just because they're all brothers, doesnt mean they're identical.
Canadian Rock!!!!!.......2002-03-26
After buying this cd I let a couple of my friends listen to a track or two and they instantly fell in love with these four great looking canadian musicians. Whether it be their looks, the lyrics, or the fact that they each play their own instrument, no one can resist Dave, Bob, Scott, and Clint Moffatt's harminous toe tapping pop rock.Not partial to Pop? Check out their newest cd Submodalities featuring great songs with moreof a rock feel to them. Either way, buying a Moffatt cd is something you will never regret. :)

Well worth buying.......2007-03-15
As the previous reviewer has mentioned, this is clearly a low budget compilation, but despite that, is good value for what you get. However apart from some of the VCD content, all the material has been released previously, taken from the singles, the two versions of "Chapter One", "Submodalities", "Up & Coming" (the only album released by the twins' band "Hidell", before they re-formed as "Same Same") and "The Closing Of Chapter One" DVD. This compilation provides a good "snapshot" of how The Moffatts' music has evolved, since the early days, and if you've just discovered their music, this is a good place to start. A nice "companion" album is Same Same's "The Meaning Of Happy" - Clint & Bob's latest project.
Cheap but a great effort!.......2006-08-19
Outwardly, this has obviously been put together with the minimum of budget - you inlay photos are all from a magazine shoot at sometime or other, and there's even a spelling mistake on the front cover! But you can't fault the effort - you get every Moffatts single, plus a few album tracks, some b-sides and what appears to be two unreleased songs! In addition, there is a VCD of videos (which works on my UK DVD player!) and a behind the scenes thing. The booklet contains all the lyrics, and actually the photos are pretty good too.
All in all, this is a superb package - and really takes you back to the good old days of the Moffatts and reminds you how great they were! Despite the budgety feel, you'll probably not get a better Moffatts collection than this based on the material, and you get lots for your money!

my friend came up to me and went ' You have to get the moffats cd Chapter one' and I was like who are the Moffatts?.. well Needless to say i went out and bought it, it blew me away totally. I loved it.. every song .. then i found out they've been around for a WHILE.. i was thinking 'Where was I when this was happening?' i think the only place i remember seeing that name was on the single "Let the Music Heal Your Soul" but their was SO manny artists on that song i didn't know who sang what.. (i loved that song too hehe) So here i am trying to get their Younger cd... i cant find it ANYWHERE i check here and its sold out =( Oh well i'm still goning to try! Bye bye from Jersey

The Moffatt brothers proved their talent to the world a long time ago. This recent US release, Chapter1: A New Begining, reinforces that and expands on it. They have added a few hidden tracks also, which in my opinion are even better than the rest of the already commendable tracks. The Moffatts are showing their true colors. Let it shine guys!

I was quite surprised when I saw this cd in the country rack when it's totally not! It's a great sound of rock and pop. I especially love "Raining in my mind." Their song writing skills are excellent, the music is so great to groove to, and overall it is pretty great. :)

Okay, I'm gonna make this short and sweet! The Moffatts are the greatest band in the entire world! Their songs are relatable and meaningful. They are not just another boy band, so don't label them. "Misery" is my favorite song and I love it. The Moffatts have worked hard to provide listeners with something they don't want to stop listening to, and they have succeeded in doing so! Well I already own Chapter 1 a new beginning (both copies- imported and the us version) and this is a great single. It's definetly worth it because of "Let's Party". It's a great song and of corse until you loved me and the snippets of; misery, miss you like crazy, and written all over my heart; are great of corse! This is a must have for a die hard Moffatt fan! (Which I am!!he he) So go get it!

Hey, I think this cd was the best. The re-mixes, and the new songs, it was just great. I love all the songs. Whoever doesn't like the Moffatts, and is writing so many bad things in here, GROW UP!! i think that this CD is great. it's something you wouldn't mind sharing with friends or family. it has this ring, this sound that catches your attention. you could dance to it and people will see you dancing to this great music and will join you. the song "Party" is perfect for a party. sometimes i put in they're CD and play that song over and over at my parties. if i could i would play it all night long and everyday. i fall asleep listening to they're sweet, smooth voises. my friends ask to listen to it on the phone! sometimes when they ask it's really anoying! because i'm usualy listening to a differant song. like when i'm listening to Party they want to listen to Until You Loved Me sometimes it gets anoying! i think that they should be number one on all the charts. i also think that they should come to Marietta Georgia and play at OHBC (my church) or at my house or just anywhere in georgia. well this has been fun making a review for the Moffatts. bye y'all

I love the Moffatts and this is the best cd they've ever completed. It has so many new songs and the enhanced part is the best. Danielle Fishel plays a good part in the video for this song. They are very lucky to be getting all this attension as teenagers. Personally, I think it rocked!!

Gil! Oh my god! What a voice. Where have you been? This is the kind of talent we need in the US. If you like this cd you have to buy "The Album" by Gil.It is one of the best cd's you could own. It has a great mix of rock,or what I like to call hip-rock(soft but upbeat rock)and it has a great mix of ballads.Please get this cd and tell everyone about Gil.He needs to tour the US.We are all missing out on a very special talent by not hearing his music on the airwaves.Once again GIL YOU ROCK!!!

Hello. I just wanted to say that this song is very beautiful and uplifting. About three months ago, I was having some hard times with my family. I was just in one of those very down and depressing times that you sometimes get in if you have just lost someone, you know? I almost felt as though I was missing something. Then I saw The Moffatts on T.V. and then listened to this song. Now, every morning, my spirits are kinda torn when I wake up, but I just turn on this song and it just completely wakes me up and gets me ready for the day, week, month ahead. I just thought I'd share my little story to see if it might help support The Moffatts. Since I heard "If You Only Knew", I will do all I can to support this wonderful family in their career. Please consider buying this cd.
P.S. If you've never been to Canada, go! I went this summer and will never dream of being anywhere else! I strongly recommend Newfoundland.
