This is a good effort from this band, but, unless you're a fan who needs all of their recordings, try another cd.

Great debut album! Is it jazz? Is it funk? I don't know, but I popped time stops... into my car cd player and listened to it 3 straight times before I could take it out. They really know how to put a tune together, and they play even better than they write. They are REALLY GOOD live, too! Catch them wherever you can. You won't be dissapointed. And sisters, these guys are H-O-T! I can't wait for their next cd to come out.

idletime plays a kind of jazz-rock fusion with funky bass lines, emphasizing imaginative improvisaton played against a lively structured rythmn. They've been getting a lot of attention in their home bailiwick of New Orleans. This is idletime's debut cd in which the group showcases some of their original compositions. This is the kind of music that brings forth all-at-once what I think are the important elements in the American music forms, balancing creativity and originality with accessibility and enjoyment. Aaron Wilkinson's vocals are an additional plus, and the compositions themselves are all jammable, as is demonstrated. Check this out!

Good first album!.......2002-07-06

I bought this after seeing the band live, and while it is a good recording I have to admit that it does not adequately document their abilities. This is their debut CD, and being a few years old it sounds a little dated. Still, it serves as a nice introduction to their sound. The sax player who plays on this album no longer plays with them, and with a keyboardist in his place I think they have really found their sound. The tracks on "Time Stops" are mostly instrumental, whereas they play more vocal tunes now. Still, even though this debut CD is not perfect, it has really grown on me and I enjoy listening to it during my mellower moods. It suggests great things to come and is certainly worth good listen.

I saw these guys in Colorado and they blew the place up! Time Stops is mellower than their live sound, but still some nice cuts here with some long improvisation. A more laid back, jazzy spin on the New Orleans swamp funk they come from.

'cause it's made up of hard-working musicians on theroad every day bringin u the cultchah. jazs is dancin-fool-fun:let's do i.t.! I hope i-time comes out with a LIVE cd in the nearfuture. this band IS a=LIvE! you got to check it out.
