Customer Reviews:
One of the best ever.......2007-04-11
Not only is this Ian Tyson's best album, it's one of the best country-WESTERN albums ever. Every song rings true about life as a cowboy in the Canadian and American West. Ian's clear, strong voice is amazing and so are the heartfelt words to every song. I bought the cassette a couple decades ago after reading a review in an alternative-weekly newspaper and then saw him in concert in Virginia; I then bought the CD as soon as it was available. This CD is simply WONDERFUL.
The creme-de-la-creme.......2006-07-28
This album (and "Old Corrals and Sagebrush") are the best Ian Tyson ever got. This is not so much a review as a recommendation. A true voice of the American (and Canadian) West in both writing, material chosen and vocal delivery. A true living legend and worth every penny you spend adding both these records to your collection. They cannot be recommended enough.
Simple & Satisfying.......2006-04-18
I bought this CD only about 2 months ago, and I have yet to take it out of the CD player in my car. The songs are real, his voice is amazing, and I can't get enough!! I would recommend this CD to anyone, regardless of the genre they're interested in.
Deserves a skyful of stars, not just 5!.......2005-09-13
I bought the cassette tape way back in the 1980s when it was a newborn. Through twenty years and countless playings, not once has it failed to delight, quieten the soul and uplift the spirit, and make me thank God that Ian Tyson was born and that he shares his gifted voice and songs with us. Never was a cowboy born who wouldn't have loved the heartstring pulling and honest songs that Ian says he "tries to write" in Springtime. Rockies Turn Rose and Own Heart's Delight rival any songs, anywhere, for top hand status.
Excellent Cowboyology.......2005-09-13
If you love cowboys and riding the range, you'll love this one. I rate this one AAAAA+++++
