The Truth of Being.......2007-03-30

i remember listening to the cd before going to a healing movement class. the music and chants vibrate the truth of being. i was able to feel grounded with the ability to completely empty out into the silence of the divine. one of my challenges it to keep my feet here while embracing the inner light. this cd is very supportive of the healing journey and wherever i am in the moment. a beautiful merging of primal sounds and pure light. thank you for the gift of this cd!

Cave of the Siddhars CD entered my life back in May of 2006. Since then I have listened to it every day at least once. The blending of instruments and Nandhi's voice are amazing. Love it !! The resonance and high vibrational energies seem to awaken and stir ancient memories of knowingness within my being. At the same time bringing a sense of immense peace and joy. My cells dance to the vibrations. A CD that can be listened to anytime anywhere. Highly recommended. Dare to enter the magical/mystical realms of the Siddhar Masters and you won't be disappointed :)

A Powerful Journey into the Turiya Nada.......2007-01-11

The wonderful combination of sacred mantras and astonishing music creates a profound inner experience. It is a powerful and amazing journey into the realm of Turiya Nada. I experienced that I was able to reach into a whole new level of awareness by flowing with the sound/light waves.
I was initially curious about how the digeridoo and the many other instruments would work in combination with the mantras, and it works just perfectly - there is always a delicate balance between the music and the chanting. Pure enjoyment all the way...

The sounds on this CD are nothing short of alchemical sound infusions that vibrate on level of consciousness that allows the listener to listen and/or participate in a manner that empowers the individual to merge with the soul!!! I give thanks to those who have given of themselves to make these powerful mantras availaible to humanity-again. Even science is noticing that everything is energy which can translate into light frequencies that are waves, particles, and to some even strings!!! With this CD it is possible to experience the divine nature that is inherent in all of us and still appreciate the artistry of being human. I hope more people find out about this type of music that has been enhanced by living sages with the sacred love and vision of our collective hopes and dreams! If you only get one CD for the rest of existence, I highly recommend CAVE OF THE SIDDHAS!!!!!!!!

THE PAUSE THAT INSPIRES.......2002-08-11

Am a hard rocker at heart. When killing time at an airport, had a chance to visit a store with a CD listening kiosk. Put on the headphones and started pressing through the selections. When seeing a release featuring a cello, first thought was classical. But had that time to kill so hit play. I was transfixed. The first fifteen seconds of "Soliloquy" stunned me. The next fifteen seconds sold me. It is one of the most moving pieces of music I've heard in my 50 years. Superb passionate melody floats just over chords that I find extremely moving. Like an intense driving rock and roll emotional charge, this CD brings about an equally strong response...but just on a different level.

Distressed concept.......2006-06-28

A concept album of despair and redemption, this comes across as a little cliched and bare. Eleven tracks - 8 of them unhappy/unpleasant/angry in tone, + one instrumental and two uplifting tracks. The balance isn't there. Maybe a longer album would of been better.

The music is good, plenty here for Elegy fans. Henk van der Laars and Ian Parry are both in top form. Production is what you'd expect of an Elegy record.

It's the fact that the subject matter doesn't grab you that lets the team down. Savatage has given us far better concept albums over the years. fans should try to get holdof this album as they will find some worthy moments but newcomers should steer clear of this and direct themselves to State of Mind as a first step into the Elegy catalogue.

Nothing Compares to ELEGY!!!!.......2005-08-21

Elegy is way underrated and unknown to the progressive genre world.. Fans of progressive metal must pick Manifestation Of Fear up. I stumbled upon Ian Parry's vocals from Consortium Project 3 : Terra Incognita. He has a powerful and melodic vocal lines. From there I went on to purchase CP 2 and 1. So I would have the complete set. I was thrilled to own all 3 cds as all 3 are superb progressive metal albums. Then I also did a little bit of historical identification. Ian Parry was from Elegy!!! And I went ahead and purchase 4 albums.. State Of Mind, Principles Of Pain, Manifestation Of Fear and Forbidden Fruit. Elegy is not those kind of Prog Band for anyone to liked the very 1st time they listen to their songs. It is progressive alright with tons of odd times signatures and displacement of rhythm and drum beats. You have to constantly listen again and again so that it shines out. From the first time when you listen to it.. you know these guys are awesome with their instrumentation technique, skills and their song arrangement. You loved it but you just couldn't grasp the structure of the song just yet. It leaves you wanting to listen more and more each time you finished the entire disc. Elegy is a band with sound musicians and musical abilities written all over their songs. I have been listening to all 4 albums tons of times and have yet to grasp every single song because of the odd song structure....It is hard to even play their songs..... My high recommendation is those 4 albums...You need to check thes guys out because you will missed out a whole lot if you don't. Think you know what progressive metal is?? Think again!!! Elegy is another whole level of progressive metal. Challenge yourself and see you could digest ELEGY!!!

Another brilliant, yet under-appreciated release.......2005-02-23

Elegy is one of those bands that are criminally overlooked without any logical explanation. Apparently, bands like DT and Symphony X have earned all the commercial success, but their work pales in comparison to the sheer quality, emotion and power as the ones released by bands like Elegy.

Contrary to Elegy's traditional catalogue, Manifestation of Fear is somewhat darker, yet a must have in your power prog collection. The song "Master of Deception" alone is a tremendous masterpiece. Sadly, this is the last album featuring great guitarist Henk Van der Lars, his solo at the end of the CD on Metamorphosis (Silence is Golden) is, by far, one of the most memorable I've ever heard from anyone in any genre. As always, skin basher Dirk Bruinenberg is outstanding behind the drum kit. One of the best bands in the genre.

If the pan-cultural acoustic/psych inventions of Ben Chasny and his Six Organs Of Admittance could be defined by only one composition, that tune would certainly have to be "The Manifestation." Released in the year 2000, The Manifestation was a clear, one-sided vinyl 12" featuring a primitive etching of the sun on the B-side. A one-time pressing of 500, The Manifestation evaporated just as quickly as it came. As an artifact, it is an underground psychedelic collector's treasure, worthy of display space on the mantle. But it also happens to be a dangerously potent dose of the Six Organs Of Admittance experience, a divinely concentrated blend of every aspect of Chasny's mystical sound. Music of this caliber simply cannot remain unavailable. Announcing the reissue of The Manifestation on compact disc, entirely remastered and featuring nearly 20 minutes of conceptual bonus music based on the ancient idea of the "music of the spheres" and the harmonics between the visible planets. We are proud to reincarnate The Manifestation, a crucial entry in the Six Organs Of Admittance body of work.

"Manifestation" was a one-sided 12" which featured one track of the same name. that's the first track on this cd reissue, the second one being "the six stations", a new track featuring david tibet of current 93 on vocals. both of the tracks are a bit longer than 20 minutes, so this disc is 45 minutes long in total. the two tracks are quite different in their sound in fact, but they fit on the same record perfectly because they generate similar mood. although this record is a re-issue in a way, by quite deep re-contextualising of the first track (the re-issued one) with the new 2nd one and new artwork, i feel that actually a completely new record is created.

the first track opens with a series of distant chants, bells and quite thick but not loud eastern-sounding percussion which persists throughout most of the track. later, beautiful acoustic guitar melodies come seeping into the track as well as the minimal, but as usual, incredibly effective ben chasny vocal as well as a "reciting" female voice. drones are here as well, and they are not very static this time. the track expands these ideas in a quite circular way, spiralling upwards and becoming larger and larger, creating a quite mystical and calm, yet intense atmosphere. this "calm, yet intense" feeling is something that i get from all of ben chasny's music and it's something i like very very much.

the second track has a quite abrasive cracking sound that sounds quite similar to the one of a very scratched vinyl record throughout most of its length, which, i feel, is suiting the track very well. it makes everything else in this track sound distant and ancient - almost like some lost and now rediscovered spiritual treasure - and i like this alot. guitar melodies on this track are not as minimal as on the first track and are very beautiful indeed. also, they are not really structured at all. the track is divided into "six stations". this track seems to have a mythology of its own within itself based on astrology and numerical calculations that seem to dictate the way the music is composed and that the station of earth is represented solely by voice where david tibet's BEAUTIFUL recitation comes in (david also wrote this text - if you like this and haven't listened to current 93, try getting pretty much any post 1994 c93 records). the recitation is quite short, but very effective. also, it doesn't sound like the discontinuation of the track. when you get this record, you'll be able to figure all of the above out by yourself from the notes and drawings on the inner side of the record's beautiful 6-panel digipak packaging. this all makes me looking forward to the full ben chasny/david tibet collaboration very much. i'm sure it's going to be stunning.

this record is completely epic and everything is just VERY well done, the music/sounds/words are all just beautiful, so, go for it.

A giver of true value of healing and insight........2005-08-13

I have always been skeptical of guided image c.d.s', until I listened to this one. Lisa has a wonderfully soothing voice combine with peacful and relaxing sounds and music. She gently guides you to a wonderful place of healing and renewal. In only a couple of days of listening to Lisa's guidence, I found myself more relaxed and centered then ever before. To listen to her is a powerful and transforming experience.
