Classic from start to finish. Pure, unadultrated honky-tonk. Even the newer cuts (sneaky) fit in the mix. Grab this if you see it. "The Essential Gary Stewart" released by RCA covers the same ground and would be a great substitution.

Very good collection of Gary's music. Used to listen to him in Ft. Pierce at Frankie and Johnny's. Trying to find a song he sang named Okeechobee Purple. Wondering how I could find it.

Great if you love honky tonk. Every song is the definition of what classic country music should be: drinking, cheating, and drinking some more. I loved every track on this album.

A gravel scotch soaked voice, enough broken hearts to make you want to put a gun to your head, Stewart is one-of-a-kind. The way county music was once upon a time, before the business men and the radio consultants slashed out the heart. Buy this masterpiece and beg RCA to bring back all of his tragicly out-of-print records from the 1970s.
