Customer Reviews:
Better then the other two, even if those are really good..........2007-06-19
Well, I just bought this recently, and I have to say this is a really good CD. But, of course, it's not for everybody. People who liked "The Black Parade" and even "Three Cheers" may not like this, as it is some of the hardest rock out there. Almost all of the songs on this album are at least two times harder than "Hang 'Em High". Also, parents, this CD deserves a PA sticker, as in one of the songs there are eight f-words (all of the songs aren't like that, though).
Absolutely the best one of them all.......2007-05-24
Raw, haunting. Any MCR fan must have this in his/her collection. The only song added that would make it a 6 is "Sister to Sleep" as it exists today (recorded as either a demo or at a club by someone). You will play it over and over and won't be able to help yourself. BUY IT ABSOLUTELY.
My Chemical romance.......2007-05-08
Wasn't sure when I first bought it, but now absolutely love it. The riffs, the lyrics everything we have come to know and love from MCR. This is an album I would highly recommend.
My Chemical Romance.......2007-05-04
I love this album. It's not mainstream, but it's still appealing to people. This album is a must for anyone who considers themselves a fan of My Chemical Romance. It's dark, fast-paced, and filled with meaninful and emotional lyrics. (Pay attention to the lyrics remember) Each song is different in its own way.
~~REASONS TO BUY THIS ALBUM~~
*Headfirst for Halos-Don't get fooled by the upbeat tempo, listen carefully to the words. Really great song, though.
*Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough for the Two of Us-This song is great, it has a music video if you didn't know already.
*Demolition Lovers-Starts at slow, but has a fast, loud ending. Who couldn't love this song?! I don't know who...
*Early Sunsets Over Monroeville: A slower song. It has this sort of eerie quality to it I think.
Oh yeah, that's just SOME of the songs on this album. So, anyways this is a great album.
My Chemical Romance.......2007-04-24
Okay, this is a great CD. It is MUCH darker than The Black Parade and Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, though. But I still love it because...
~Demolition Lovers: this is the song that I first really loved from My Chemical Romance, more than The Black Parade or Three Cheers stuff.
~Vampires Will Never Hurt You: This is another awesome song, I can listen to it non-stop!!
~Drowning Lessons: I really like this song, too... but what is up with the end, how it stops and then starts again??!!! whatever, it's still good.
Anyways, those are my favorite songs off this CD. So many people only know The Black Parade stuff, but really I think this is so much better.

Customer Reviews:
A jazz treasure following a national tragedy.......2007-06-14
Much of this splendid album was recorded on Sept. 12 and 13, 2001, immediately after terrorist attacks on New York City and the Pentagon. Yet cornetist Ruby Braff, pianist Bill Charlap and drummer Jake Hanna turned in memorable performances to go with three tunes recorded earlier during the session that produced Braff's "Watch What Happens" CD. For that date, Braff, Charlap and Hanna were joined by pianist Dick Hyman and guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli at Arbors' 2001 March of Jazz festival. Like Braff's 15 or so other releases on the Arbors label, "You Brought a New Kind of Love" is absolutely necessary for jazz fans who love a lyrical horn player's improvisations on familiar standards. If you've never heard any of Braff's work on Arbors, this is a good place to start. If you already own some of his other efforts, this CD will make a fine addition to your collection. It's one of the best CDs by Braff, who passed away in 2003.

Customer Reviews:
Great memories but nothing Remastered here........2006-04-15
To call this CD remastered is a bit misleading. I would have gotten the same results by sticking a cheap microphone near the speaker of an equally cheap television set.
The songs and sounds of the Marx Brothers brought back great memories but the skips in the CD and the overall quality of sound was a bit disheartening. If you love the Marx Brothers then buy this CD for the memories, as for the quality, I would definately think twice.
If comedy were still like this . . ........2005-08-20
. . . it'd be much better than it is - well, if you've seen "Monkey Business" you know what I'm talking about!
This CD contains music from two of the Marx Brothers' early Paramount films, "The Cocoanuts" (their first) and "Monkey Business." Since these films were made in the late 1920s and early 1930s, the sound quality isn't the best (and the dialog occasionally carries over in the music), but considering that a CD like this is hard to find, it's certainly worth adding to your Marx Brothers collection. Not only do you get Chico's chord-smashing, finger-accented piano playing, or Harpo's dreamy, beloved harp playing, you get some of the Brothers' comedy bits from these two movies - such as their hilarious Chevalier "impersations" and the immortal "Why-a-duck?" exchange.
Just a tiny bone to pick: Harpo's solo in "Monkey Business" is actually called "I'm Daffy Over You" (written by Chico!), not "Sugar in the Morning" as the CD case says.

Why long faces? this album rocks!.......2006-01-30
Why do poeple not like this album?
it rocks!!!!
The long climb to the peak........2004-03-06
New Day marks the first studio project and tour for the veteran group Big Mountain in over six years. Their new album features an incredibly tight rhythm section of jembei, drum set, and bass over mariachi and classical guitars. The horn section provides the top end, flowing in between the bilingual (English and Spanish) vocals. It's a solid rock-reggae album that has some up-front pop elements, and nothing is too extreme. On a few of the tracks the rhythm section moves to a few slow tunes, but even they are well put together in both syncopation and sound quality. Free from their contracts, the band started thier label Rebel Ink Records and celebrates their independance. New Day is an excellent example of an album that reflects exactly how a band starts to play once they become free of the influence of big labels and the pressures of fulfilling a contract.
Southern Cal Music Vibes.......2003-04-26
New Day is probably the best album of this year thus far from any artist. From the title track at the beggining all the way to the last song their is some real inspirational songs with a unique sound that only Big Mountain can provide. With Los Alacranes providing the intro to 'Tierra Indigena' this is a powerful peace of work. 'The Wind' and 'Mama' are very powerful songwriting and well arranged. Quino, James and the guys' sonwriting is as fresh as it has ever been. Horns are mixed in very nice I might add. It is to our benefit that Big Mountain has stuck it out through the years to bring us this inspirational force driven music. With all the bubble gum sounds out there it is nice to hear a band that is a true talent and relates to the people. In these times we need a band like Big Mountain.
Continue the Struggle - Adelante BIG MOUNTAIN !!!
Nice Job Big M!.......2003-04-12
Nice stuff, title track makes you feel good and I find myself listening to it each morning on the drive to work, nice effort. Good to have these guys back. Can't wait for their next effort...
