About the Artist
James Colley is a native Californian singer/songwriter who currently resides in San Francisco. He has been writing and performing music in the Bay Area for the past five years. Originally from Los Angeles, James spent his adolescent years in Bakersfield. It was in Bakersfield where James first found his connection with music. At age 18 James left the small town life of Bakersfield and moved north to San Francisco in pursuit of a career in music.
In August of 2002, James decided to concentrate his musical efforts on his own original material, teaming up with long-time friend and producer Alex James Muscat, the two began recording tracks for James' debut album on Last Stop Records. The resulting nine song album, California Skin was released in August of 2004. Former band mates, Scott Robertson and Robert Johnson helped in creating the nine song disc with further contributions from notable artists Jesse Dyen and Jen Faith. Produced by Alex James Muscat, California Skin is an eclectic blend of California country and good honest rock and roll.
