About the Artist
What could posses three guys from Enon, Ohio to play rockabilly music with a smart-assed attitude, crazed rhythm and some of the best guitar solos this side of the Mississippi? Only the rock and roll gods know the answer. But fans of the Stray Cats & Southern Culture on the Skids have made room in their CD collections for one more great band….. Crazy Joe and the Mad River Outlaws.

Crazy Joe and the Mad River Outlaws have come a long way since the late 90's and their days at Greenon High School. Whether opening for the likes of Deke Dickerson and the Ecco-fonics, the Reverend Horton Heat, Mojo Nixon, the Blue Moon Boys, or playing for their old band director's retirement party, you can bet that when the Mad River Outlaws are in town, a swingin' good time can't be far away.

In 2004, ATOM Records is proud to announce their first full length CD release: Chopped, Slammed, & Twangin'. The new CD features 12 original songs that span less than 26 minutes from start to finish. But what do expect from a great rockabilly band? Six minute guitar solos? Sappy ballads? This band doesn't need ballads nor a bunch of drawn out songs to make their point. They simply want your butt wigglin' and your feet on the dance floor.

Crazy Joe and the Mad River Outlaws consists of Crazy Joe, a famous potato cannon engineer, who plays guitar, sings and is sometime referred to as Joe Tritshler, but only when he is working on his PHD in electrical engineering at Wright State University.

On bass is Hep Cat Matt Duffey, who has been playing bass since he smashed his trumpet trying to crack open walnuts at age 14. And last but not least is Punkin' Pat, or Pat Lee as his birth certificate states, on drums. Just don't upset Punkin' Pat, he is rumored to have shaved the family dog and glued him to a fence when the dog went "number two" on his favorite Johnny Burnette record. But can you blame Pat's response to the sacrilege practiced by this pooch? A Barry Manilow record would have made more sense.

Crazy Joe and the Mad River Outlaws are expanding beyond their Enon, OH roots. The boys have twice played rockabilly festivals in Las Vegas and their new CD is being carried by the world famous Waterloo Records in Austin, Texas, rated the best damn record store in the US. So what are you waiting for? Check out the Mad River Outlaws today (or the band may hunt you down and give you a wedgie).

5 out of 5 stars JUST PLAIN GREAT!!! JUST PLAIN FUN!!! JUST PLAIN SMART!!.......2006-07-24

Awsome guitar playing, smart/funny lyrics, and authethentic production! THE BEST Rockabilly trio CD that's out there!!!! This guy is RIGHT up there with perfect guitar playing and tone. If you've ever seen Brian Setzer play live (when he's at his best), Crazy Joe also plays with just the right feel, rock references, and perfect tone. Chopped, Slammed, & Twangin' is in heavy rotation in my iPod along with Johnny Burnette's Rock n Roll Trio, and Gene Vincent's greatest hits. Non-stop fun, tempos, and chops!

This album rocks from start to finish. I bought it as soon as it came out and it has not left my CD player yet. If you are a fan of rockabilly, definitely give this hot new band a listen to.
