After the sort of year that Kenny Chesney has experienced--from a whirlwind courtship through a short-lived marriage--a guy needs some time to chill. Thus it's no surprise that The Road and the Radio finds the party-hearty country hunk in an uncommonly introspective mood. The soul-searching title track establishes the album's intimacy and theme of taking stock, sustained through the bittersweet balladry of "Who You'd Be Today," "In a Small Town," "Freedom," and "Like Me." Though Chesney only wrote one track here, "Beer in Mexico," he invests the rest with personal conviction. Even the comparatively hard-rocking "Living in Fast Forward" has a reflective twist to it, while the Caribbean lilt of "Tequila Loves Me" has more than a measure of melancholy. Whatever the effects of romantic travails on his personal life, his music has gained some emotional depth. --Don McLeese

I like Kenny Chesney..........2007-06-17
...but what the hell is the point of putting out an album when you didn't even write the songs? It's a ridiculous concept. This is someone else's heart and soul, not Kenny Chesney's. The only one he wrote has the word "beer" in the title. What an artist!
Best Kenny Chesney CD!!!.......2007-05-28
There are more Kenny Chesney hit songs on this CD. I can listen to this CD over and over. My favorite is "Who You'd Be Today." It reminds me of my friend's son who's helicopter was shot down in Iraq in 2006. God bless Maj."Bubba" Worrell and God bless Kenny Chesney.
Road and Radio Tour.......2007-05-02

Great album.......2007-04-10
My husband, a new country music fan, loves Kenny Chesney, so I got him this for Christmas along with some others. He really likes it.
THere are slow songs, fast, happy, sad and all done in classic Kenny Chesney.
A good buy.
Welcome Back Kenny.......2007-03-16
I've been with Kenny since his early years and it's been alittle trying seeing him travel with Buffet, as i am not that huge a fan of his. But as soon as i popped this CD in my player it felt like the old Kenny again. "Livin' in Fast Forward" and "Summertime" although still about the summer, is much less like the beach senario songs he's set up recently and much more about relaxin and havin a good time. "Beer in Mexico" might be one of my favorite songs because of all the brass that's used, and "Somebody Take Me Home" is another favorite. It's so catchy and different. If you are new to Kenny, you should like this for his singles, but keep in mind that it isn't all beach songs. He's gone back and put a few more meaningful songs with messages on this one as he did in his early years. No matter what, Kenny rocks! Can't wait to see him AGAIN in August!

Though Kenny Chesney had been building a rabid fan base over the years, no one expected his 2002 release, the multi-platinum No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problems, to make him a superstar. But the Luttrell, Tenn., native had found a batch of songs that perfectly captured that scary no-man's land between adolescence and adulthood, precisely where the bulk of his followers happened to live. On its sequel, When the Sun Goes Down, the protagonists are older, with kids on the way and hectic jobs that rob them of leisure time. In fantasizing about those college keg parties and hedonism after dark, they search for a sigh of relief. Chesney understands this, and his own changes, too. Emotionally he's more at home in his own skin, and since his voice has gotten deeper and wider, he sounds increasingly confident in the studio, besting guest artist Uncle Kracker on the title song, a warmed-over Jimmy Buffett vibe. He's also matured as a writer. The majority of his four songs, two co-written with others, are no match for "There Goes My Life," the powerful unwed father ballad that served as the album's first single, or even "When I Think About Leavin'," another tune about standing at the crossroads. But his memorable "Being Drunk's a Lot Like Loving You" will burrow deep in your psyche, and prove Chesney a fine guide to confronting pain. Better keep this one handy. --Alanna Nash

Another Hit by Kenny.......2007-01-12
Kenny never lets me down. He just keeps getting better all the time.
Kenny's Best Album.......2006-10-06
Out of all the Kenny Chesney albums released as of October 2006,this is by far his best work to date. All tracks on this CD are of true superior quailty. This is especially true of "There Goes My Life" and "I Go Back". A must have for all Kenny Chesney fans!!!
Mr. Spock, the cliche replicator has gone haywire!.......2006-07-25
The lyrics to the title track sound like they were written by a 2nd grader. "When the sun goes down we'll be movin'/When the sun goes down we'll be groovin/When the sun goes down feelin' all right/Everything is hotter when the sun goes down."
It almost makes "Got it goin' on like Donkey Kong" seem intelligent.
When The Sun Goes Down.......2006-07-17
"Sun tanned toes tickling in the sand," a line from Kenny Chesney's number one billboard top country single, When The Sun Goes Down on his When The Sun Goes Down CD, explicitly describes summertime. The CD was released February 3, 2004 on the Bna Entertainment label. Kenny Chesney is the Academy of Country Music's Entertainer of the Year. This CD has gone triple platinum, and is truly his best collection of songs. Chesney as been on the road performing for over thirteen years; the CD currently holds a four star rating. All country fans will enjoy this CD, which incorporates realistic lyrics with upbeat music.
Specifically,"The more you live, the more you know..and the more you experience, the more you reflect on everything around you. You become more aware, whether you want to or not - So, as an artist and a songwriter you look for ways to see it and tell people about it, to see if they're going through the same things," (kennychesney.com) Chesney believes. This CD reflects this belief, and obviously that is why country fans are so captivated with his music.
This album conveys reality for me. I can relate to each and every song on this album. Chesney sings from the heart; he manages to capture the essence of life and all its lessons, celebrations as well as its disappointments. The lyrics of the songs touch upon happiness, love, change, loss and determination. This album will spark many emotions within its listeners, positive or negative, but definitely real emotions.
My favorite track on this album is There Goes My Life; it is the story of a young man not ready for parenthood. The song begins with the lyrics, "All he could think about was I'm too young for this, got my whole life ahead. Hell, I'm just a kid myself, how am I going to raise one?" He views his life and freedom as being over. The words within the chorus remain the same, but the implication changes throughout the song, "There goes my life, my future, my everything. Might as well kiss it all good-bye. There goes my life." As the song continues, he realizes that his daughter has become his life. The lyrics recite, "That mistake he thought he made, covers up the refrigerator. He loves that little girl." In the end, his daughter has her Honda packed and is headed off to the west coast for college, and he cries, "There goes my life, my future, my everything."
Of course, picking a least favorite track is a very difficult task with an album of this quality. The best I can identify as least favorite would be the lyrics, not the music, of Anything But Mine. It's hard to understand the meaning of the song. It appears to be about a couple in love, walking the beach in the evening with the sounds of a carnival and local bands in the background. They are listening to a band and the song recites "in the midst of the music, I tell her I love her and we both laugh `cuz we know it isn't so." Now, what does that mean? The chorus, "In the morning I'm leaving making my way back to Cleveland. So, tonight I hope that I will do just fine, and I don't see how you could ever be anything but mine." Why is he leaving? Apparently, the song is about spring break at Daytona Beach. A couple meet and fall in love for a week and it's everything love in a moment is supposed to be. But, the week comes to an end and so does their relationship.
Indeed, Kenny Chesney fans will be thrilled with this extraordinary album. For those that are not yet Chesney fans, no doubt about it, they will be after listening to this album. From the first song, There Goes My Life to the last, Old Blue Chair, this album is a "must have" in the CD collection. Chesney is a down-to-earth, easygoing, country singer with many awesome stories and experiences to share, by way of his songs. When The Sun Goes Down is a collection of songs like no other.

East Tennessee-born singer Kenny Chesney has, in the course of his relatively brief career, proven to be an unremarkable but thoroughly competent singer who shows occasional flashes of brilliance when teamed with the right song. That happens roughly half the time on this 17-cut compilation disc, which, despite its title, actually includes four new songs, one rerecording, and a remix. Amid soppy country-pop chart fodder ("Me and You," "When I Close My Eyes") and second-rate ditties ("How Forever Feels," "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy"), Chesney hits his stride on robust country ballads like "You Had Me from Hello" and the lead single "I Lost It." On other gems--like "That's Why I'm Here," a heartfelt tribute to the Alcoholics Anonymous 12-step program that topped the charts a while back; "Baptism," a great duet with Randy Travis; and his fine rerecording of "Tin Man," the song that launched his career in the mid '90s--Chesney even manages to attain an ephemeral but utterly moving transcendence over his vocal limitations and sometimes questionable song choices. --Bob Allen

Greatest Hits Kwnny Chesney.......2007-06-12
Once again, I wasn't disappointed with this CD from Kenny Chesney. The songs are familiar and grouped together well. If you're a fan of Kenny. by all means I definitely suggest you get it. If you're not a diehard fan yet, you will be! Some of my friends who are more into rock, heard it in my car and we're now all going to his concert in August in Chicago. Three are now buying his CD's. He's a little of country-rock and all entertainment! His joy of music comes through on most of his songs and his talent is unbelieveable!
You won't be disappointed!!!!!.......2007-05-22
I became a HUGH Kenny fan after his hit "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy". Yes...it's not the brightest title or song, but when Kenny sings it...the fact that I think he's the hottest thing EVER doesn't hurt! My husband thinks I'm insane, but even he agrees that he's an awesome singer with a great voice!
Kenny Chesney - Greatest Hits.......2007-01-09
I already knew this was a great CD so I bought it as a Christmas present. It was a hit!! The CD was a favorite and came in perfect condition and came very fast.
Good stuff.......2007-01-03
I like Chesney, but I'm not a big fan and I generally dislike the modern Nashville sound, so please don't take my opinion and rating as the best informed. It made sense to buy his greatest hits because I hadn't bought his original albums that had them. That said, this is a pleasant sound, well performed, and anytime you play Chesney all the women in the room are happy, so its worth the purchase. The addition of some new material, a remix and live versions indicates better than average effort for a "Best of" album.
I love it!!.......2006-12-09
I didn't have anything of his and I wanted something new so I tried it. I was NOT disappointed!!

A megahit with young country fans, Kenny Chesney may seem like an accidental star, but he's succeeded largely by understanding what his following wants to hear. No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems taps directly into the squiggly vein that runs between adolescence and adulthood, when responsibilities call and Jimmy Buffett dreams beckon. As much a celebration of life as of youth itself, the album succeeds best when Chesney turns wistful and thought-provoking ("A Lot of Things Different," "Good Stuff") and makes firm decisions about what really matters in life. Sentimentality reigns supreme--you can already imagine a sea of flickering cigarette lighters when he does this material live--but as "Big Star," a song about a girl who wants to be just that, spells out, No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems is a solid affirmation to go for what you want in this silly ol' world. Chesney certainly has, and if this short, bald guy from tinytown, Tennessee, can catch a rainbow, the rest of us ought to take heart. --Alanna Nash
Customer Reviews:
Great Album.......2007-06-08
Already had this album from Oz, but was scratched. Love the album and wish I could see kenny live.
A Great Collection of Memories, Dreams, and Thoughts.......2007-01-28
Here is another wonderful release from the boy from Tennessee which offers more of his heartfelt melodies and stories of deep thoughts. As with his earlier albums, this one contains Kenny's clear and sincere vocals and a contemporary, yet unmistakably country taste to these songs. In contrast to his earlier albums, this one explores a new territory, the tropical island sound and/or lyrics in some of the selections here. All of the tracks consist of lyrics that many people can relate to on a personal basis because they have experienced or are experiencing these same thoughts or feelings.
The album starts out with the hit song "Young", a mid-tempo, neo country track that reflects on one's youth, with the activities, attitudes, behavior, and relationships that marked those days. This is sung from an adult point of view, on how he notes how fast the time has gone by, and how he wished he was older (when he was a kid), but now wishes those days weren't over (now that he's grown). The next track, a soft, low key, moderately paced "I Remember" tells of the guy thinking about a girl he used to have a relationship with, but he wants to forget about her. "A Lot Of Things Different" is soft and mild, and another hit song; it deals with past regrets, mostly about things he should have done but didn't, and he would do things differently if he had the chance to. Note that he speaks about the mistakes in a talking voice and sings the rest of the line. Next is the hit song "The Good Stuff", a story of a guy who had a fight with his wife so he goes to the bar, and ends up listening to the bartender telling about his late wife, and the grandkids, and the good times he had; so he has a change of heart. The hit "Big Star" is a high-energy, moderately fast-paced story song about a female who dreams of being a musical superstar, and experiences the life of a celebrity.
Next is "On the Coast of Somewhere Beautiful", a soft piece in which the guy thinks about a girl, imagining that she is on the beautiful beach, and he wishes he could be there with her. "Never Gonna Feel That Way Again" is moderately fast-paced, and discusses the past phases of his life: childhood, the teenage years, and as a father playing ball with his young son; and how he will never return to those times again. Then come "Dreams", a soft, slow song with acoustic piano in the background, in which a woman dreams of having a man in her life (again) and that he will stay with her. The title track "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems" is a popular hit song with a tropical style; marked by light-hearted rhythms, strumming guitars, violin, sliding steel guitar, and xylophone. It tells of a busy guy who would like to visit the island where the rules are relaxed and the mood is a laid-back one, and the setting is like a tropical vacation.
Kenny wanders into the rock 'n' roll sound with "Live Those Songs" with a rock guitar strumming in the background of high energy. This is the story of a working guy who wishes he could return to the early 70s and the beach, girls, and music of those times. "One Step Up" is the remake of the Bruce Springsteen hit, a fairly gentle piece about dealing with the frustrations of having setbacks while working toward goals. The final track "I Can't Go There" is a soft and slow ballad, with an acoustic piano in the background. This is a story of a guy who can't visit any places because they all remind him of a girl he used to go out with; almost as if her memory follows him wherever he goes.
Overall, these dozen tracks provide some variety in Kenny's style of performing and singing. This album helped bump up his thriving musical career and push him into superstardom. Although the five hits from this package are great, the listener must hear all twelve tracks to appreciate the versatility contained here. This album deserves 5 and 1/2 stars on a scale of 1 to 5; or 11 stars on a scale of 1 to 10.
No Shoes is a great album.......2006-11-10
No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems is a great album. Along with the title song this album includes Kenny's hits The Good Stuff and Young. The bonus track, I Can't Go There is my favorite song on the album. I never listen to that song just once. I always rewind it and listen to it again and again. This album is a must for true Kenny fans.

Live country albums are relatively scarce these days, and that's regrettable. Granted, the studio is a remarkable place, yet there's something about a quality concert recording--the immediacy and raw interaction with the audience--that no studio effort can match. While most concert albums are recorded at one location, Kenny Chesney created this collection from tapes of five years of shows at various locales. The material reflects the past eight years of his career, including "How Forever Feels" from 1998, "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" from 1999, and "What I Need to Do" from 2000. "When the Sun Goes Down" comes complete with Uncle Kracker, who appeared on the single. There's an edgy version of 2005's "Beer in Mexico" and a remarkable performance of "Anything But Mine" in which a surprised Chesney stands by as the audience takes over the chorus. What's amazing is the blazing-hot consistency of the band throughout. While their backing reflects Chesney's arena-rock influences (no number is shorter than four minutes), his charisma, energetic presence, and ability to connect is pure country. --Rich Kienzle

Great Live Album.......2007-01-18
It was cool to hear his old songs with his new voice. I think his voice is more smooth and rich than it used to be (I liked his old voice too). Anyway, good sound, mixed well, upbeat, great song selection. Not alot of his "MEGA HITS", but we can hear those anytime. I really enjoyed this live album, totally recommend.
Nice Collection.......2007-01-11
An excellent collection of some of Kenny Chesney's best songs, all done live!
Kenny at his very best!.......2007-01-05
This CD is AWESOME! It's been in my CD player ever since I got it and I play it over and over again. It's great hearing my favorites and some new Kenny Chesney songs. I also love hearing his commentary on some of the songs.
Solid Live Effort.......2007-01-04
Chesney is still a drugstore cowboy, but a pretty good one at that. Anyone wanting to hear his greatist hits live should pick this up. Sound quality is terrific and the band tight. I would highly recommend it.

Kenny Chesney may work the Jimmy Buffett mojo a little too hard on his CMA Award-winning album, When the Sun Goes Down. But he comes by it naturally, having vacationed at Myrtle Beach as a child and today owning a home in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Now comes his all-out island salute, Be As You Are (Songs from an Old Blue Chair), which surprises only in its concentration on the restorative vibe of beachfront life rather than the bikinis and rum-soaked nights. Intimate and subdued, the album gets mandatorily frolicsome on "Guitars and Tiki Bars." But mostly it's a reflective look at the people, places, and passion that make up his south-of-the-equator equation. There are lovely moments here--the cocktail swirl of "Magic," the quiet eroticism of "Something Sexy in the Rain," and the faraway ache of "Somewhere in the Sun." Trouble is, Chesney, who wrote or cowrote all 13 tracks, ended up with enough material for only half a record, and then repeated many of his ideas (particularly the singling out of the émigrés who came to the islands to become whole again) to fill out the album. Add that shortcoming to the mellow sameness that prevails, and Be As You Are becomes less an album for that old blue chair than one for the hammock. --Alanna Nash

BUT - I went on a Windjammer cruise in January 2007 to the BVI with my sister and her friends and one of our stops was Jost Van Dyck. We had lunch at Ivan's and they were playing this CD. I ordered it when I got home. It spoke to me and 6 months later, the call is even stronger.
I am in a high pressure job as Director of Sales Operations (not too far from Boston - "She's from Boston".......) for an international technology company and work from 6 am to 7 pm most days.
But Fridays, I make an exception - at 5 pm EST, I start this CD (it is always in my office CD player), pour myself a glass of wine and decompress as I say goodbye to my 200 daily emails and 4-5 daily conference calls.
It has made me truly start to seriously re-evaluate my priorities. Our kids are grown, we have no debt, I am well-compensated but so is my husband and my job is just to make a few people richer.....My only problem is that my husband cannot do his work remotely. Hmmmmmmmm
Take my advice and buy this CD to decompress.
Be As You Are is one of Kenny's best.......2007-03-09
I love Be As You Are. It is my second most favorite Kenny cd (followed by Everywhere We Go). Kenny wrote all the songs on this album. Old Blue Chair, Somewhere in the Sun, and the title song are all great. Magic is really cool because it is unlike anything Kenny has ever recorded--it is bluesy, and I don't ever listen to this song just once. It always gets repeated and heard at least twice. The songs on this album are moody, with a lot of emotion. I love it and highly recommend it.
happy anniversary.......2007-02-23
got this for my husband on our 5th wedding anniversary. he wore out his old copy. he listens to it all the time. good purchase.
Be As You Are.......2007-01-07
I really enjoy this album. I purchased this album with only knowing two songs, but I liked them. This album is really about Kenney's personal journey in life, and it's nice to see someone else going through life looking for peace. This whole album makes me want to up and leave to Florida and become a beach bum.
Absolutely Amazing Album!!!.......2007-01-01
I do not usually like country music so didn't even know who Kenney Chesney was until like 8 months ago.
Oh, man is this a great album. I guess I fell in love with it at first listen. I am a Travel Agent and LOVE the imagery portrayed by Kenney's lively lyrics. I want to buy a house in Cinnamon Bay and this album just keeps the dream alive for me. It gives me hope for my future and warms me to the very core of my being.
I feel that I totally relate to Kenney and his soul just comes pouring through his music. He was born to write this kind of music.
The Old Blue Chair is such a perfect metaphor for life. We all have the one standard thing in our lives that was in our presence during all our changes. For him, it was his old blue chair. So simple, so romantic.
In Something Sexy About the Rain... wow! You feel his love for this woman that he "loved for just one season". We all have that, don't we? That one lover that we think of from time to time. The one who "got away" with a piece of our heart.
This man poured his heart out on this album, this is who he is, who he must be. I think it is a wonderful album. I listen to it fairly often. For me to say that after 8 months is a pretty strong statement as I get bored easily with repitition.
It is a great romantic evening album, to be sure.

Makes me feel closer to everyone... .......2007-05-30
When my husband deploys, I feel alone, scared and yes worried.. As a military wife you usually aren't allowed to admit that.. :) This cd is amazing... I love it and it makes him being gone a lot easier.. I don't care what anyone says... We are in the right fight.. at the right time with the right President. I don't like him being gone.. But its worth it.. This CD makes me feel patriotic.. it tugs at my heartstrings.. makes me smile.. I can imagine driving with Private Andrew Malone.. I can feel proud to be an American... I can cry over "I'm already there.." All the songs make me smile... So yes.. worth every penny and more!!!
God Bless America!!!
Nashville hacks singing for faux-patriotism.......2005-12-23
Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney, Lonestar, Martina McBride, Montgomery Gentry, Aaron Tippin, Lee Greenwood, Neal McCoy, Kenny Rogers, Randy Travis, Phil Vassar, The Warren Brothers, Dusty Drake, Hank Williams Jr., Alabama, The Charlie Daniels Band, David Ball, and Blackhawk.
What do these artists have in common? Cutting edge musical geniuses? Gifted songwriters able to speak to a wide range of audiences? Innovators in their genre?
Err, no.
Actually what they all have in common is that they all appear on this package, created to commercially exploit the war on terrorism, one which contains songs like Where The Stars And Stripes And The Eagle Fly, This Ain't No Rag, It's A Flag, and Back Where I Come From. In other words, maudlin, xenophobic, cliche filled, black/white dichotomous sentiments, and the lack of any attempt at rational or questioning political analysis, all set to fiddles and pedal steel guitars, and to be marketed and sold at Wal-Mart. I should add that I am not against patriotism, when it is intelligent and well informed; this, however, is dumb, reactionary faux-patriotism. Nothing is more so than the song God Bless the USA. As an American who loves his country, I can say that this song, with its syrupy sound and its naive lyrics, does not speak for me.
I listened to a bit of this schlock on a plane ride a while back just to see how much of it I could take. The answer was - not very much. What little I could take made me want to drink, and heavily.
Some of these performers, specifically Brooks and Dunn, Randy Travis, Charlie Daniels, and perhaps Kenny Chesney and even (I hate to admit) Toby Keith are actually fairly talented; others, like former lounge singer Lee Greenwood, Alabama, Montgomery Gentry, etc, are 3rd rate musical hacks.
Ultimately, listening to this nonsense, I'm reminded that some of the greats of the genre, like Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, George Jones, and Willie Nelson were neither knee-jerk
reactionaries nor apologists for a ruling political party. Then again, Dusty Drake, Montgomery Gentry, and Blackhawk are no Johnny Cashes. Just Nashville hacks, soon to be forgotten.
Great CD.......2005-08-21
It is a great CD. If you like country music, this is a great buy. Not all the songs are about America, but make you feel good and proud of where you come from.
NOTE: Most of the bad reviews below have to more with politics than music. These folks probably have never listened to all the songs let alone actually buying the CD.
To to a kids review.......2005-07-31
"would like to say that this is a great cd and I love it when people write reviews like the one written on Dec. 21, 2004 titled (One of the worst cds ever). People like you make me sick, first you don't use your real name (like your a terrorist wearing a hood), next you play it off like a kid wrote that review, very cowardly. "
I'll tell you I'm a kid (age 16) and some don't want to use their real name because this is the internet, not real life. If you knew my name or the original reviewer's real name, would that make any difference? Anywa, you say since a reviewer doesn't use their real name, they are a terrorist? Very intelligent.
"If your home is destroyed by someone, you are not going to look for the people or person involved. No you are going to the proper authorities and they will handle it.
That is what happened here. We were attacked and the proper authorities are handling the situation."
We were not attacked by Iraq and the proper authorities are not handling the situation. We attacked Afghanistan, but Iraq has nothing to do with this.
"Look I am all for freedom for imagrant's but they took it to far with the attacks. Living in our country, working here, becoming friendly with the neighborhoods and gaining the trust of everyone around just to destroy part of the country you love (so you say) is just something that cannot be tolerated. At least we had the guts to tell them we were coming. You should be thankful that you have a country who is willing to protect you and your family. "
So you think it's immigrants fault that we were attacked? And you call yourself an American? You should be blind to race and country of origin, we are all Americans here. The country of Afghanistan attacked us and we went after them, that has nothing to do with immigrants.
"Right after 9/11 happened EVERYONE was togther as a whole to make sure the people behind this act of cowardly violence (kind of like the way you wrote your rewiew) and any kind of terroristic threats on U.S.A. would never happen again. But I guess for some of you people that was just like hopping on the band wagon for a short period of time."
It was not cowardly violence. In a war you strive to kill the most enemies you can. I would only Hope the US would strive to kill or detain as many terrorists as they can just as their target was civilians. Whatever you say, suicide bombings are not cowardly, they are actually pretty effective. Find me a US citizen willing to fly a plane into a building full of terrorists to kill our enemies.
"It's not a matter of what song's are good to listen to and what songs aren't. It's about a bunch of people who support the country (they love) so they can feel safe to go shopping, go to work or just go for a walk and not have to worry about some idiot flying a couple of planes into some building's or into the ground and never see their loved ones or the light of day ever again."
Ah, back to the actual review of the CD, which you have made a minor detail. I don't care about what these singers support, I care about their music. I care about what politicians support, and how singers sing. I happen to like many of the songs on the CD, but I didn't buy it because I own many of the songs already.
"How can you say you love something if you are going to let it get hurt and not try to justify the situation. I feel sorry for the people in your life."
Well more people are in car crashes every year than were in the WTC during 9/11, so you should be pushing for safety in cars. How can you say you love something if you are going to let it get hurt and not try to justify the situation? Of course you are a very effective tool of the terrorists, the typical American scared out of his pants when a building goes down, scared to shop, when you are in more danger driving your car. We have killed over 10 times the ammount of CIVILIANS in Iraq (nothing to do with 9/11) than the 9/11 attacks killed. Of course I'm sure they aren't people to you.
But back to the CD, I am really thinking about buying it mainly just for "Hey Mr. President" and I'm dissapointed they didn't put it on another CD, I love the song and the Warren Brothers.
Most of the songs are really great, although "God Bless The USA" was overplayed and I used to love it, but now I'm just tired of it. All of these songs are great, although some don't even seem to be patriotic. But that doesn't matter to me, because great music is great music, which is worth buying.

Modern country fulfills a real musical need. It offers songs about adult issues--relationships, employment, religion, and children--couched in the modern production values familiar to more recent generations. Artists such as Randy Travis, George Strait, Clint Black, and Vince Gill have proven time and time again that slick and down-home are not necessarily incompatible. For it to work, however, requires excellent songwriting and distinctive, emotionally evocative singing. Unfortunately, too much of Everywhere We Go, Chesney's fifth record, is second-rate material and paint-by-numbers arrangements sung with an emotional sameness that seems to make little distinction between the humor of "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" and the romance of "You Had Me from Hello." For a moment, during "Baptism"--a duet with Randy Travis--Chesney invests some real emotion, and the restrained instruments seem in tune with the joyful yet serious subject matter. Then Travis comes in and demonstrates the vocal power and range that it takes to be the kind of artist that Chesney merely aspires to be. --Michael Ross

Life is good, the grass is green, the good Lord smilin'............2004-12-23
This is another of my favorite Kenny CD's. All the songs are awesome, the lyrics are fun, meaningful and sincere. I like when he incorporates the good "LORD" and "family" in some of his music. It shows he's got great values. Kenny is without a doubt one of the best in the industry. Some highlights for me on this album are "How forever feels" (where is this beach at?), "You had me from hello", "Life is good", "Baptism" (RT is awesome too), "Everywhere we go", "I might get over you", and the rest are just as great. She thinks my tractor's sexy is a very fun song. You have to have fun in your life in order for your life to be good. Life is short, live it to the fullest. GO KENNY!
LOVE IT.......2002-07-18
I am a huge Kenny Chesney fan and I must say I absolutely LOVE eveyrwhere we go. It has beautiful love songs and fun fast songs! Its AWESOME!
Another Winner.......2002-05-05
On Kenny Chesney's 1999 album EVERYWHERE WE GO, there is nothing groundbreaking or new, but Chesney provides his fans with the goods which has made his past albums a joy to listen to - good songs with meaning. The album opens on a high note with the torch ballad "What I Need To Do", which is one of my favorite KC songs. "How Forever Feels" is another irresistible summer song, with a catchy chorus and is sing-along worthy. "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" is a fun upbeat song, with a killer chorus, a humorous song indeed. "You Had Me From Hello" is a definate wedding song hit, echoes from his past hit "Me And You" or "When I Close My Eyes", but "Hello" is a beautiful song indeed. "Life Is Good" and "Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me" are both fun, upbeat inspiring numbers sure to lift your spirits. Other highlights include the title track, and "A Woman Knows". The only song I didn't particularily care for was "Baptism", the duet with Randy Travis. Overall EVERYWHERE WE GO is a consistent effort, and well worth repeated listens.
Kenny Chesney Shines.......2001-09-17
Kenny Chesney shows his diversity int his album. He sings heart felt ballads like "You had me from hello" and " What I need to do" to upbeat, turn up the radio and dance hits like "She thinks my tractors' sexy". Kenny shows true vocal range in his album cut "I might get over you". This CD and his greatest hits are staples for any collection. Easy to listen to, great to dance to, and a must have!!!
Original Songs?.......2001-08-19
This was my first CD by Kenny Chesney; which was purchased after seeing his video "How Forever Feels". I would probably be classified as the Contemporary Country music fan, so I don't keep up with country music scene. I do qualify with having 1 country station programmed into my car stereo.
This CD is Fun, Loving and leaves a breathing woman yearning for the man behind the songs to be standing in front of her (preferably, me). :) Though, it would be nice to hear more original songs by Kenny Chesney. I don't know if he typically writes his own songs or not; however I noticed he contributed to two songs on this CD.
Personally, I tend to enjoy music written by the artist--Leading to more appreciation of the song itself.
However, in no way should that perspective discount the fact that this is a great CD to have in your collection.
Kenny Chesney has a smoothe country tune, a boyish look about him and looks great in his t-shirt, blue jeans & cowboy hat!

I Will Stand is one of my favorites.......2006-11-10
The title song is absolutely wonderful--one of my top ten Kenny songs. The songs, You Win, I Win, We Lose; She Always Says it First; and A Chance are also very good. Finally, this album has an acoustic version of When I Close My Eyes that is amazing. I own 12 Kenny Chesney albums and I Will Stand ranks third in my book (behind Be As You Are and Everywhere We Go). If you are a Kenny fan, I highly recommend this album.
Great cd.......2002-05-20
This CD, a great leap of growth from "Me and You". The ballads are one of the best he has ever done in his carreer, including the self-titled song, "I will stand" and "A Chance" two very good and touching songs. "She's Got it All" of course is a classic song, and the video goes along to why the girls really do love Kenny. "That's why I am here" is a career marker. His biggest hit to date to be honest. Never has he had a song that has touched almost listener. Its a great effort by Kenny Chesney, and I recommend it to the highest degree. KC is the best!
STAND is 1 of KC's best.......2002-05-05
Kenny Chesney's 1997 album I WILL STAND provides some of his best material, and overall one of his most consistent albums. The album opens with the summer sing-along song, the #1 hit "She's Got It All". The album has the perfect balance of uptempo country songs, and beautiful ballads. The song "That's Why I'm Here" is a touching ballad about an alcoholic, a definite highlight on the CD. Kenny also manages to do a cover of Tina Turner's "Steamy Windows" and does the song justice. He also joins Tracy Lawrence and George Jones on the honky tonk, "From Hillbilly Heaven To Honky Tonk Hell". Some touching ballads include "I Will Stand", "A Chance", and the acoustic version of past hit "When I Close My Eyes". Other highlights include "You Win, I Win, We Lose", "Lonely Needin Lovin" and "She Always Says It First", but there is no bad song on here, no filler whatsoever. Overall I WILL STAND is a consistent album and one of his best. Give it a try.
Strong Effort.......2002-02-21
By the time this album came out, Kenny Chesney was beginning to make a name for himself in country music. His past hits included The Tin Man, Fall In Love, Me And You, When I Close My Eyes, Back Where I Come From and more. He started making an even bigger noise with this cd, I WILL STAND. The first single, and opening track, "She's Got It All" is an upbeat country song, which was a huge hit due to its catchy lyrics and just being a great song overall. The album features some compelling love songs/ballads, such as "You Win, I Win, We Lose", "I Will Stand", "A Chance" and more. Also, a big song is the song "That's Why I'm Here" about a man with a drinking problem. Other well talked about songs include the cover of the Tina Turner song "Steamy Windows" (which he sure does justice to), the collaboration with Tracy Lawrence and George Jones on "From Hillbilly Heaven To Honky Tonk Hell", and the acoustic version of his hit single "When I Close My Eyes". This is overall a really satisfying album, and its clear that with this album and his ones that come after it, Chesney will be around for a while.
KC- I WILL STAND.......2002-02-01
I bought this on cassette in 1997 when it first came out and I listen to it in my car EVERYTIME I go anywhere! I have just finished ordering the cd for my husband to listen to in his truck
(he doesn't have cassette) he loves kenny chesney. we think he is VERY underated as a country singer! he has one of the best voices out there! I also have his latest cd "kc greatest hits"
the latest is great, but I like "I will stand" the best!!

If you like Kenny a lot, then you will appreciate this cd which was made when he first started. If you are a fan of his more recent music, the stronger country flavor of this cd may not be your cup of tea. I love any and all his stuff so I think it is great.
Title of this one is my most favorite............2006-05-28
My absolute ALL TIME most favorite Chesney song is without a doubt, ME AND YOU. I LOVE this song. It's the one that hooked me in for good! I soooooo wish Kenny would put this song back in his set list...and I mean the WHOLE song. A little part of it in a Chesney medley is NOT enough!!!
GREAT CD...a MUST have!

This album is just so complete. It has its ups and downs but all-in-all one of the top.
This is a great CD from Kenny!.......2004-12-23
Kenny is such an awesome singer. He is flawless whether it be an uptempo song or ballad he can deliver the goods. I really enjoy his uptempo tunes especially "ain't that love" it's such a feel good track with fun inspiring lyrics. This song alone would've been the price for this cd. There are many great tracks in here including "Back in my arms again", "Back where I come from", "Me & you", and many others. You need to own all of Kenny's CD's in order to have a perfect country collection. Kenny, you are the best! man!
Its a classic Kenny Album.......2002-06-14
Now don't get scared by the young Kenny Chesney. He may look young, but his songs aren't so immature. He has a few great hits on this CD including the title track, "Me and You". This song is Timeless and is played at weddings all the time. How fitting is the song though... absolutely. And then his fan favorite is found on this album... which is my absolute favorite KC song ever.. "Back Where I Come From" and this is the studio version... which I happen to like more. The song about growing up in the country.. "Some say it's a backwards place, narrow minds on a narrow way.. but i make it a point to say that's where I come from". If you get a chance to see Kenny Live.. this is one of the greatest parts of the show.. he has clips of when he was younger. It is a great show. The rest of the cd has some great songs... pick it up.. I promise you won't be dissapointed.
