I ordered this CD to get one song,"We Shall Behold Him",and was blown away by the two CD's. Sandi Patty has always been a favorite of mine but I have not heard many of the songs on these CD's. The old favorites are done with arrangements that give you goose bumps. And of course when I ordered this from Amazon I never knew I would get it so quickly. Thanks Amazon.

Contains two CDs, both are great.... I can't decide which is my favorite. This is the best of Sandy Patti singing great hymns I grew up on and a few newer tunes. You will not be disappointed in her song selections and, as always, her fabulous voice which touches your heart and soul.

Sandi's voice has never been better! It is so clear and warm and rich. Just lovely. And sincere. The songs chosen for this CD set are absolutely perfect. If you are a Sandi Patty fan, of course you will love this album. But even if you just enjoy a beautiful soprano voice and inspirational music, you can't go wrong with any of her CDs.

I just saw her Christmas concert the other night, and all I can say is "Wow!". She is even more incredible in person, if that's possible.

I love Sandi Patty. As for the cd when I first got it. It wouldn't play after the first song. I have a cd repair kit and tried that. Now it works fine.

i always love Sandi Patty's songs it inspires me a lot to my walk with Jesus...i always admire here music .life and her passion to served God thru music and singing...ived been a fan of Sandi since my elementary days..and till this day...the old hymn the ived heard from my mom,coz she used to sing in the church..shes just like Sandi..high voice and operatic..for you guys up there who still into secular music turn your music into gospel music and let Gods power and miracle flow into your lives..i highly recommend this doudle Cd of Ms SANDI PATTY...God Bless!!!

I grew up watching Lawrence Welk, and falling in love with the Lennon Sisters, so I probably shouldn't have been surprized that I enjoyed this collection of songs so much, but even so, the incredible beauty of their voices makes me feel like I'm in heaven, and the excellent selection of songs is just a joy to hear. I'm not Catholic, so I wasn't familiar with all of the songs, but they are so well done, and so moving that you'll have tears in your eyes.

I'm just glad CD's were invented, so I won't have to worry about wearing out records and tapes.

Buy this CD for yourself or anyone else who likes beautiful Christian music. It is outstanding.

I love the Lennon Sisters for the absolute beauty, perfection and purity of their harmonies and their tonal qualities, but no one can describe in words how this all comes together on this CD in these songs. You truly have to hear it to understand. The sheer beauty of this has often brought tears to my eyes. A few of the songs I had never heard (Unfailing Love, In This Very Room and the Wedding Song) and the three of them are extremely beautiful and moving. (My only beef with these three is I haven't been able to locate the sheet music to them!!!) Their "Holy Holy Holy" is absolutely phenomenal. This album has brought well over 200 hours of joy and peace to me; the music is awe-inspiring. It touches the heart, soul and spirit. I can't do this album justice, and I don't think anyone could. I (obviously!) give this one my heart-felt recommendation, and hope others will hear it and love it and derive all the beauty and peace from it that I have. (Question for the inquiring minds--How can four people WITHOUT FAIL always cut off at EXACTLY the same time???!!!)

I have many CD's of hymns that I listen to when I'm going to sleep at night. This one is not as calming at times as some of the others that I have. Nevertheless, it has many of the "old favorites" and worth buying, just for that reason.

    This Review is relevant to both the 1 CD - 17 Track Retail Version and the 2 CD - 36 Track Special Release, but is mainly in relevance to the latter!

    The songs collected here are absolutely superb and this 2 CD set is almost The Definitive Perry Como Faith and Inspirational Collection! Except that it is missing Perry's 2 Jewsih Recordings - 'Eli, Eli' and 'Kol Nidrei'.

    This collection is absolutely superb! All songs are re-mixed and re-mastered to a High Standard from Original Release Masters (the only source better than this is the most desired - 1st generation Master Sources, but this is the very closest we can get at present!)

    Every song is a true gem, performed beautifully by the one and only Perry Como!

    This CD includes the complete contents of Perry's RCA Victor Albums 'I Believe' with the exception of 'Eli, Eli' and 'Kol Nidre. Plus, Perry's 1958 album 'When you come to the end of the day'.

    As well as all of this, the double CD includes Perry's songs not released on Original RCA Victor Albums: Singles, EP's and other divisions of RCA Records (e.g. Camden).

    Plus, as an added bonus, as well as the Traditional songs of Faith - this CD offers some popular songs of Inspiration!

    As I said before, every song is a Gem! Thye are all beautifully performed by the one and only Mr. C! Plus, all songs appear in the correct sound representation. If songs were recorded in Mono - they appear here in Mono! (not Electronic Stereo!) and, if songs were recorded in Stereo - they appear here in Stereo! (No Mono or Electronic Stereo)!

    All compiling, sequencing, mixing and mastering has been done to a high quality level - BY PEOPLE WHO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!

    I extend my appreciation not only to Mr. Como, but to these people for releasing the songs the way they should be released!

    The only 2 downsides are that the 2 Jewish Songs are not included and there are no detailed liner notes and recording information. But! With the effort given in this compilation (which is outstanding!) - this CD is one of the best Como CD's on the market as far as effort is concerned.

    It is very rare that Quality and Quantity can be combined - Mr. Como is that very rare exception. His songs are of superb quality and in enormous quantity!

    If you are fortunate enough to get the special 2 CD set of this release - Purchase it without hesitation!

    If you aren't fortunate enough to locate a copy, definitely purchase the 1 CD version without hesitation too!

    I was lucky enough to get a copy of the 2 CD set - I actually purchased the CD from an Amazon Seller expecting to recieve the 1 CD version as advertised by Amazon. Well, I was certainly very pleased to recieve the 2 CD set (which I had knew of, but had little hope of locating a copy of!)

    The 1 and 2 CD versions have identical front covers, but when you get the CD - you can easily notice the difference on not only the back cover, but by the increased weight and '2 CD' printed on the Front/Spine of the Case!

    I will still purcahse the 1 CD version at a later date. Perry Como is well worth it and so is this CD!

    The 1 CD version focuses on Perry's late 1950's Faith and Inspirational recordings - including in full - Perry's 1958 album 'When you come to the end of the day'!

    It is CD's like this that make things feel all worthwhile. There is of course the beautiful voice of Perry Como - with wonderful accompaniment. Then there is first rate effort, love and respect shown through the way these recordings have been re-released on this 1 and 2 CD Package!

    In greece, we call such records "Malakies" which means "Delightful". Don't waste another minute and go get this CD! It brings me back memories from my childhood.

    this 2 cd combo was awesome. On every song they harmonize extremely well. I really enjoyed the gospel set because on the group efforts (there are two solos (What a Friend and Pilgrims of Sorrow) by Cissy Houston and I think Swing Low is completely sung by Myrna Smith) their sound is so rich and full, they sound more like a choir than 4 singers. The songs are really interesting and really inspiring. What the world Needs Now is awesome, too. The group's version of Alfie is fantastic and so is just about every other song on the cd.

    Hailed as one of the greatest ensemble groups in R&B history THE SWEET INSPIRATIONS (CISSY HOUSTON, ESTELLE BROWN, MYRNA SMITH, AND SYLVIA SHEMWELL) were not as big as they should have been in terms of popularity. Compared to album sales for MARTHA AND THE VANDELLAS, THE SUPREMES or THE RONNETTES they were not at the top. But with one listen you become aware that they were by far more talented and polished. The main reason could be that ATLANTIC records employed them as session vocalists for every big act or solo performer at that time. If one markets their album really well maybe they are not available to perform on everyone else's record? (Elvis Presley, Aretha Franklin, Esther Phillips, Wilson Pickett)

    Be that as it may that didnt stop them from releasing some stellar soul music. This release just issued on cd in 2002 catches a gospel and pop/r&b recording.

    On the gospel set(SONGS OF FAITH AND INSPIRATION)Cissy Houston (mother of WHITNEY) writes half of the tunes. The hand clapping, toe tapping "Looking on the brightside" is pure traditional gospel and inspiring. Estelle takes the lead on the accapella "He'll fight". A true testament of THE SWEET's vocal power and harmony. Other standouts are "The 23rd psalm" and Cissy's solo reading of "Pilgrim of Sorrow".

    The second part of the cd brings you to the pop/r&b side with "WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS NOW IS LOVE". The title track is slammed from beginning to end with the vocal power and mesmorizing harmonies this group can provide. One of the best versions of the great song ever! Their version of "Alfie" clearly overshadows Dionne Warwick's version. The whole release is consistent with first class production and special readings of classics by THE BEE GEES ("To love somebody") and even OTIS REDDING ("Thats how strong my love is"). The original "You really didnt mean it" is pure soul balladry as Cissy again takes lead on a song about a love that wasnt meant to be.

    One of soul music's institutional groups deserves better recognition then they got when they were together. A great pairing of two good releases. Pick it up and enjoy. There is so much to savor!

        The songs on this CD are great and this one is better than the PRAISE THE LORD/SONGS OF FAITH CD by the 101 strings.

        But....if I compare this to the GREATEST HITS of the 101 strings, this CD pales. The musicianship and singing is flawless on this CD but the arrangements are boring at times.....

        This CD is OK when you want nice Christian music in the background.
