Customer Reviews:
a classic.......2006-12-16
This set is one of the best and also a classic set of Tiesto's. His track selection was great for this one. If you listen to it and you are in the right mood, you will get goosebumps when you hear the crowd . If you have been to any great party, concert, or event when the crowd cheers and you get goosbumps...then you will know what I mean.
A solid release, but it's live all right.......2006-09-25
At first I too found the occasional audience noise distracting if not outright annoying, especially on the quieter parts, but after several listens I don't notice the crowd as much. I would have preferred the audience to be excised completely from the recording but what are you gonna do? Because this is a really good cd with an excellent choice of tracks and a very good flow and vibe to it I recommend it. DJ Tiësto proves once again why he is considerred a top DJ (MUCH better than that Amin Van Urine clown). Just beware of the audience noise.
Takes a while.......2006-09-21
By the third track, this album should have engulfed you. If not, I don't know what to tell you. The transitions aren't that smooth, but there is a classic feel to this album.
One of the best trance cd's ever!.......2006-07-16
This is a very nice set! All of the tracks are really good and I highly recommend it. Take it from someone who knows their electronic music. A must have!!
Everything he's done and why he does it!.......2006-04-27
The reason why Tiesto is and always will be the best Trance DJ on the planet is because he does not do it for money its because he loves the music and the way it affects the people he plays it for. Its all about the music and always will be. every mix or album he has put together or mixed is emotional thats why its so good.

Album Description
This CD was recorded on January 30, 2005, at the Melkweg in Amsterdam. It was home-court advantage for Ana Popovic--the native of Belgrade has lived in Holland for several years. The refrain of her first song, "Don't Bear Down on Me," can be taken as the motto of the whole evening: "I'm here to steal the show." And indeed, that's what Ana does! The 29-year-old proves with her own songs and fresh interpretations that she is an excellent and expressive guitarist with a powerful voice. Her groovy music is not aimed at blues purists--she stands for modern and cross-border blues with elements of rock, soul, and jazz.
Customer Reviews:
Excellent guitar player.......2006-12-07
Very nice CD, it brings you that nice and intimate atmosphere of a live music club. Ana popovic is an excellent guitarist with a great voice and a really good backing band. It's not a pure blues, it's not a pure rock, nor the pure jazz. It is a perfect mix of each of them. I think she is on top of the blues-rock musical scene today.
I've seen her in a live gig and I absolutely do recommend you to do the same if you ever get the chance.
Five stars from me here.
Loved it.......2005-08-18

Wow.......2006-06-30
This album is amazing, buy it. One of the most beautiful solo piano recordings ever.
Buy three copies, since you'll want to give the extras as gifts.......2006-04-12
This has become my newest favorite CD (sorry Seu Jorge!). First of all, the sheer piano sound is absolutely luminous, and then Fred's control of balances, voicings and rhythmic spacing is at once heartfelt and sophisticated. The selections have terrific variety - I keep having a favorite of the week. From the simplicity of "Valentine," the playfulness of "Evidence," or the imagination of "Peacocks," the listener is brought along a wonderful voyage. The people to whom I've given this CD were ecstatic with it, too.
An Introduction to Intimate Interpretation.......2006-03-16
Let's cut to the chase here: Why buy this?
1. The music is personal and technical at the same time.
Ok, in music there are two schools: touch and techncality. Those at the extreme of each do not venture into the other realm. Some musicians are so technically superb that they do not let the spontenaety of emotion add to thier work. In the other camp, some pianists are so emotional they squeak and miss notes trying to make the music "float".
On this recording, Mr. Hersch combines both schools correctly. He has a tinge of Keith Jarret(Koln Concert), Ahmad Jamal (The Awakening), Bill Evans (Since We Met), and the spacial qualities of Thelonious Monk. On this album, he's addresses all schools and does a great job at it.
2. This was one great engineering job.
How many instances have you suffered the sorrows of a good performance with a bad sound quality. Much like the touch/technics problem mentioned above; another great challenge of any recording is great performance/production. There are a few greats in this line: Sunday At The Village Vanguard (Bill Evans), Blue Train (John Coltrane), Piano Reflections (aka Duke Plays Ellington) (Duke Ellington), and many more.
This album is a marriage of music and mastering. The natural reverb of the new Stienway at the Bimhius is easily captured here. In addition, you can tell the room is medium-sized (listen to the slight compression of the monsterous chords in the middle section of A Lark). The applause is clear and has no distortion; it's easy to hear the harmonics of the piano and the dynamics he plays. I haven't heard a recently-recorded piece sound this good in YEARS!
3. The selections allow you to see what Fred can do.
It's easy to record an album (ok, I still listen to 'wax') that uses all new recording you create to showcase you abilities. That's fine with me. However, to me--if you can recreate the magic in the standards; you can easily win my acclaim by shoving yourself into a mold cast in the past and recreating the shape of that music.
Put another way: listen to Fred play The Peacocks. Until this recording, Bill Evans (You Must Believe in Spring) was my ultimate version--to me, Fred might have beaten that version. Fred allows you to fully experience the music by taking his time and allows the music to capture your soul.
To be brief: This CD shocked me! I never planned to buy it; but now I can't put it down. I'm hoping that he will be in my area so I can catch him.

Album Description
This is the Fishbone album fans have been waiting for. Shot and recorded in digital 24 track at the world famous Melkweg Theatre in Amsterdam, Holland during the infamous High Times Cannabis Cup. This is Fishbone at it's most inspired. They are a well oiled Punk/Ska/Funk factory, this being the last night of a 14 week grueling American and European tour. The smoke filled venue filled with thousands of blissed Fishbone fans shakes with the thunderous grooves as the band plays songs that span their 20 year career. The DVD is 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Customer Reviews:
closest to the real thing..........2005-11-30
As great as Fishbone's studio albums are, this is one act that has always thrived and amazed live, where their character can shine in full effect. After all how could a mere stereo audio recording do justice to the full-frontal assault created by the beyond-colorful personalities of the dudes in Fishbone? So here we finally have a CD AND DVD together for one low price. The sound is awesome, just try it w/headphones (or those earbuds you probably use for everything..). AND you get to SEE the band putting it down live. Norwood, the killer bassist always said that they just tried to do what P-Funk said and "take it to the stage" and they do! You MUST check this out...and if you're new to Fishbone then I have mad envy for you. you're in for a great trip...
The Indie-label Struggle.......2005-10-31
Fishbone are legendary...let me just begin by saying that. There were ranked most exciting live act by Dappa Like Zappa; They have influenced countless bands and hip-hop acts, befriended many more bands and such...i mean come on, its undeniable! After dealing with a bunch of garbage from Columbia, and dealing with legal whoas, and lack of promotion, they eventually moved to their own record label. Now this album was done through High Times Magazine and they simply didnt do the band justice! Dont get me wrong, its a great album, but thanks no thanks to High Times...the recording quality lacks and there are type-o's on the back cover...granted, being an indie band, their stuff is bound to be a bit ruff around the edges-and like i said, the album (especially teamed with the DVD) is still great...just not as great as it could've been....ah the whoas of independance. Furthermore, the DVD doesnt do justice to Fishbone's live performance...Fishbone is typically full of energy and motion, and on this DVD they're more layed back...but that is undoubtably do to the MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF POT BEING SMOKED BY EVERYONE!!!! BUT...the crowd shots are tight...there are people EVERYWHERE...and a dancing section in the front where some fans are gettin down and there's this person wearing a psychedelic light outfit...its great! AND in all the album/dvd combo is a great bye (but wouldnt be a good purchase for someone new to Fishbone).
Stoned delight in the stoners' capital.......2005-09-30
No Fishbone fan can afford to be without this CD/DVD recording of what proved to be one of their last concerts - at the High Times Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam.
From Angelo Moore's bizarre opening rap, to the sonic blitz of "Sunless Saturday" and the turbo-charged skank of "Cholly", this is pure killer vibes.
How could a band so talented be treated so shabbily by the music industry? Moore's bitter rant, which closes the DVD version, spells out just how used and abused Fishbone were.
Tragic. But at least we have this souvenir of their greatness.
Great Music, Great DVD, a must for fishbone fans!!!!.......2005-09-21
Fishbone is red hot!!. Fishbone plays a great mix of ol' an new songs to skank and go nuts to!! Over 70 minutes of music. Great quality sound, recommended for music fans with eclectic taste!! If you like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bad Brains, 247 spyz, Living Colour, Sublime, They Might Be Giants, Weapon of Choice, you are gonna love fishbone!
Fishbone rocks live.......2005-08-31
Great live cd. Of course fishbone is always great live but the best part of this cd is you get a dvd of the concert as well. It's like getting two for the price of one which is great. I didn't even know it came with a dvd when I ordered it so it was a great suprise to get that one top of the cd. A must have for any fishbone fan.

More Classic Fela Reissued.......2003-07-12
"Live in Amsterdam" is one of Fela's best albums with Egypt 80. Unlike most titles in the MCA reissue series, this one is not two albums on one CD, but is instead three songs and nearly 80 minutes of music from a November 28, 1983 concert in Amsterdam. While some of Fela's material with Egypt 80 can be too keyboard driven for my tastes, here the band grooves like classic Afrika 70 -- multi-layered percussion, funky rhythms and intricate horn play. This is not only one of Fela's best live albums (I prefer it easily to "VIP" -- see my review), but I would rank it along with "Original Sufferhead" and "Beasts of No Nation" as his best efforts from the 1980s. Of course, all of the Fela reissues are really indispensable, and you should get them while you can.

Its not the best ever, but well worth it
THIS IS THE #1 TRANCE ALBUM OF ALL TIMES!.......2006-07-20
HANDS DOWN! #1 trance mix of all times no questions! If you ask yourself, why is there so much hype about Tiesto? Why do people think he is the best? the anwser is Magik 6:Live in Amsterdam....this is just an amazing cd, from start to finish so euphoric, nonstop hair raising trance beats, simply a MUST HAVE!!
this is till this day the # 1 electronic music mix in my eyes, and iv been a fan since i first started listening to music!
Great live set from Tiesto.......2005-11-22
This Magik volume is a live set from DJ Tiesto in Amsterdam. It, like his stage performances, are high energy. It includes the dancefloor anthem Delerium's "Silence" (with Sarah McLachlan). Tiesto is fine tuning his craft in this CD into a real gem. He has as much fun producing and playing the music as people have listening. Of course, you can hardly pass a Tiesto set without feeling the groove and music, and this is no exception! This one and the live set Magik 7: Live in LA are worthy CDs if you have never seen Tiesto live and wanted to hear what its like.
Amazing...Tiesto Does Not Disappoint.......2001-09-08
All I can say is...amazing. From the first track to the last, Tiesto simply knows how to do it. He beautifully mixes song to song and the energy you hear from the crowd allows the listener to realize: the only thing better than listening to the cd is hearing him live!!
Tiesto will spin you into Euphoria..........2001-08-29
Epic trance !! Stop reading and buy this now !! Tiesto will fly you to the moon with this one. If you have a friend come over to listen with you, make sure he brings a change of pants because this c.d. is massive !!! Wish I could give 10 stars. Tiesto is to deejaying what my cousin Chris is to making a shoe smell! Epic, unforgettable disk !!!

IF YOUR A BAD BRAINS FAN!YOU'LL LOVE THIS ,1,I, PROMISE!ITS A GREAT CD!its live too!
The Bad Brains at full throttle.......2006-04-22
The Bad Brains: four rastas, ex-jazz-fusion musicians, turned into one of the most powerful and creative punk bands of all time. Some claim that they were the inventors of the Hardcore genre.
This live album captures the Brains at what they did best, play mind-blowing shows. Being masters at both light-speed hardcore riffage and playing chilled out reggae and dub. This album combines both genres giving you a breather from the amazing and brutal hardcore assault with reggae interludes in between.
The Bad Brains' lineup was filled with talent in every instrument with Darryl and Earl providing a solid and groove filled rythm section, Dr. Know on lead guitar riffing and soloing at the same level or better than any metal guitar gods. Finally, HR on vocals which are correctly credited on liner notes as "throat". Indeed, HR uses his voice as another instrument: shaman-like chants, crooning, wailing, screaming, reggae stylin' and sometimes even barking. HR is on pair with Mike Patton and Maynard James Keenan when it comes to vocals.
Separeted like a three act play, the album is divided into sets of hardcore tracks separated by reggae interludes: Day Tripper / She's a Rainbow, The Youth are Getting Restless and Revolution. It is worth noting that Day Tripper / She's a Rainbow has one of the gooviest bass lines, better than anything put out by Marley or King Tubby.
All hardcore tracks are amazing, a few standouts: House of Suffering, Coptic Times, Banned in DC, Big Takeover.
Hardcore is an acquired taste, like a fine wine, the first time you sip it out of a glass the taste might be kind of nasty but with time it becomes a greate pleasure. The same thing happens with the Bad Brains.
It is a shame that the Brains don't tour anymore, it would be amazing if somebody would put live footage from this tour on DVD.
Enjoy.
The Originators.......2004-05-04
The originators of Hardcore Punk in 1979, come together in Amsterdam for 1987's live album recording. The music is played as fast and furious as ever as HR and the crew play classic after classic. Comprimised of material between '79 and '87, classics such as "Right Brigade", "Re-Ignition", "Coptic Times", and "Pay to Cum" are all on the same disc, and live at that. Hardcore never sounded better.
Bad Brains at their height.......2003-12-19
Bad Brains were easily one of the best bands in the early U.S. hardcore scene. Maybe even the best. This album perfectly captures their sound. This album is all about Dr. Know though. He tears it up on guitar. In some of their later albums H.R. lost the agressiveness in his vocals. On this song you can just hear everyone going insane to "I" in the opening. There are a few reggae songs in the mix and Bad Brains were always masters of both genres. The setlist is a great mix of all of their albums from the 80s. Stay away from some of the later live Bad Brains releases and pick this one up. The sound quality is great as well.

The relationship between pianist Martha Argerich and the recording studio has always been an on/off affair. Consequently, many of her discs derive from live concert tapings. EMI is doing a great service to the pianist's legion of fans by issuing excellent-sounding live broadcast recordings, like the two concertos contained on this disc. Mozart's C Major Concerto K. 503 is new to Argerich's discography. Her skittish fluidity in the passagework of the outer movements downplays the music's operatic overtones, stressing instead the music's big-boned virtuosic parameters. Occasional patchy tone and unsettled entrances are a small price to pay for Szymon Goldberg's sensitive, well-balanced support at the helm of the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra. Why are the cadenzas unaccredited (Mozart left none for this work)? Argerich made a studio recording of Beethoven's joyfully brash First Concerto with the Philharmonia Orchestra under Giuseppe Sinopoli for DG in the late 1980s. This 1992 live version, however, finds the mercurial virtuoso in more spontaneous, rabble-rousing fettle. At the same time, she conveys more breadth and breathing room in the slow movement. Heinz Wallberg and the Concertgebouw Orchestra turn in an alert, yet firmly rooted orchestral framework that supports the soloist without indulging her headstrong tendencies. One might expect a pianist of Argerich's capabilities to let rip in Beethoven's longer, wilder, first-movement cadenza, but she opts instead for the more frequently played shorter one. --Jed Distler
Customer Reviews:
The young Argerich gives us an astonishing K. 503 and later a very fine Beethoven First.......2006-06-13
Within a few bars of Argerich's first entrance in the Mozart K. 503 concerto she had me paying attention in a way I never expected from her. Could this delightfully fresh, relazed, imaginative pianist be her? Apparently in 1978 she hadn't yet developed the fiery, aggressive, often impetuous style that her fans love but which doesn't sit well in Mozart's music. Here she is simply unsurpassable, showing so much musicality and inner life through her playing that I completely surrendered. Szymon Goldberg keeps up with Argerich by making sure that the accompaniment is never routine but lgiht and joyous.
After my first listen I checked the Gramophone review to see if anyone shared my amazement and found that the reviewer called this "as radiant, vital and carefree a performance as any within living memory." Absolutely.
In the Beethoven First the partnership isn't quite as magical. Heinz Wallberg starts out the orchestral part in pretty routine fashion, although the Concertgebouw plays with gorgeous tonal balance. This is 1992, and I expected Argerich to charge blazing into the solo part. As it turns out, she is nearly as effervescent and carefree as in the Mozart. Does a live setting make her this genial? I'm not sure that Beethoven's music is so inspired that taking all the repeats is justified--the timing stretches out to 34 min.--but with such infectious playing I was happy to hear every note. Wallberg is at his best in the slow movement, which he conducts with extra intensity to counterpoint Argerich's hypnotic legatos. The rondo finale is dashed off at a nice, buoyant pace, and the orchestra skips alongside Argerich to delightful effect--there's no pounding or exaggeration from her, either, despite her fiery reputation.
All in all, a complete delight.
The inimitable Argerich in classical vein.......2004-02-21
This highly enjoyable disc has the renowned Argentinian pianist in two live performances of classical concerti. Although Argerich is perhaps best-known for her blazing traversals of Romantic and early twentieth-century warhorses (the Liszt Sonata, Ravel's Gaspard de la nuit and Prokofiev's Third Concerto must be numbered among her classic interpretations), she proves more than capable of scaling down and refining her approach as befits the more delicate writing of these late eighteenth-century masterpieces. Mozart's Concerto in C major, K. 503 is not as popular as its predecessor in the same key, K. 467 (the "Elvira Madigan" concerto), and its slow movement is perhaps not as romantically appealing. In formal construction, intricacy of interplay between solo and orchestra and mastery of development it must be counted among his very greatest works. Argerich's crystalline passagework and clean phrasing are a continual delight. She plays a sensible, idiomatic and, disappointingly, unattributed cadenza in the first movement. Although the accompanying orchestra plays stylishly under Szymon Goldberg, the balance of the live recording is tipped heavily in favor of the solo, which means some finer details of the orchestra-solo relationship are lost.
The squarer, more straightforward style of the Beethoven Concerto needs less subtlety of listening. Again Argerich tosses off the frequently intricate piano writing with irresistible dash. (She plays the shorter, less virtuosic of Beethoven's two complete cadenzas for the first movement.) The long slow movement is played with melting tenderness and beautiful work from the solo winds. This is yet another wonderful souvenir of this very great pianist's art.
Beethoven playing at its best.......2004-01-01
As a perennial Argerich fan, I'm slightly confused as to why I did not purchase this disc sooner, even if only because the cover photo would make a good addition to my collection. But there is much more than a pretty photo here; the playing is top-notch, as expected.
Unfortunately, the disc opens with the Mozart. While it is not a bad performance, something is missing. I find that Argerich seems much less "comfortable" in this concerto than in the Beethoven (considering her statements about Mozart and Beethoven in her interviews, this seems appropriate). The Mozart is ultimately ruined for me in the Allegretto--the piano entrance is played with such blazing speed that it is difficult to discern what's really going on.
The Beethoven, on the other hand, is brilliant. It is played a little slower than her childhood debut, but is endlessly more mature. The tender moments are played with such delicacy and finesse, that I feel almost as if time has stopped. Her runs, no matter what tempo or dynamic, are always crystal-clear and shaded with wonderful color. And while the third movement may be a little on the brisk side, the playing is always nuanced. No matter what the music calls for, she delivers it accurately, musically, and with astonishing control.
If the quality of a recording should be judged on how many times I can spin the disc in my player and not grow tired of it, this one is a real winner. One thing remains true: I gain something more with each listen.
Wit, energy, and joy! A choice disk..........2002-06-24
Argerich is always amazing. In this recording she shows she has wit and energy to spare. Both concertos are favorites and almost too well known, but her performance (and it IS a recoding of a live performance) is so full of life you will find yourself smiling and even chuckling a few times.
Some people feel they haven't given a proper critique of a recording without giving a list of flaws in the performance details. To that I saw they are missing the whole point of the thing. Live music is about the moment and going after something. The fact that there are rough spots means almost nothing when the artistry is still in tact. And with Argerich the piano playing is rock solid fun and both orchestras do a great job in matching her vitality.
Both of these concertos require the pianist to make the music sing, but in different ways. The Mozart is witty in its sheer musical facility. Mozart is able to conceive anything and pull it off seemingly out of thin air. I am always amazed at his quicksilver imagination and it is in full power in this concerto and in this performance.
The Beethoven is wonderful, but it is obvious that it is more of a constructed wit. It is still very funny and powerful and poetic. I guess the difference is really that Mozart seems almost improvised and the Beethoven seems more thought out. Not that Mozart seems anything less than perfect nor does the Beethoven sound labored. It is just the way the payoffs are gained makes them sound that way to me.
In any case, these are two wonderful pieces and two superb performances. I love listening to this CD. Enjoy!
"classical" style?.......2000-07-30
What is the classical style? What can be objectively defined as the "proper" or "correct" way of playing Mozart and Beethoven? It's all too fashionable these days to dismiss Argerich's interpretation of these composers as "stylistically wrong." I believe it all comes from some stereotyped misconception of these composers and of Argerich. Mozart and Beethoven are categorized by musicologists and historians as composers of the Classical period, but does that mean their music should be nothing but "elegant", impersonal, and "dignified"? Mozart and Beethoven, as composers and human beings, certainly do not conform to this stereotype. Neither does their music. You won't find less life and singing in Mozart, or less soul and fire in Beethoven, than in any "Romantic" composers. Their music was revolutionary and individual, not just some easy entertainment for aristocrats. Why, then, should we deprive our artists of their right and freedom when they try to do the music justice?
In interviews, Argerich often talked about how much Beethoven and Mozart meant to her. It will be surprising for most people to know that she's interested in theoretical essays in order to know how something was played in each period. She said, "Trying to know what the interpretations were like in each period is a question of respect for the composer who created that music that I love." She also says that she understands Beethoven more than she does others. Indeed, when we listen to her play, her love for the music is apparent.
With Mozart, however, it's a more interesting case. What we hear in her Teldec Mozart recordings certainly is quite different from that in this concerto performance. (It is also interesting to see her play Mozart fourhands in the DVD "Martha Argerich and Friends") This is not to say which Argerich is better, but I do think that as a Mozart interpreter she's more mercurial and maybe somewhat less consistent than as a Beethoven player. In fact, Argerich confessed that "with Mozart, the sound of the modern piano gives me some trepidation." Fortunately, we don't sense any of that mixed feeling in this EMI live recording. This performance has the youthful exuberance, the sense of improvisation, and a truly singing quality that are so essential (yet so rarely heard) in a Mozart performance. Her problem with Mozart on the modern piano doesn't seem to exist; instead, we hear the instrument fully utilized in her heartfelt singing style. It is healthy, full-blooded, full of colors, and with the greatest sincerity. Her impeccable musical taste and intelligence give the interpretation authority and integrity. Her virtuosity adds extra brilliance and excitement. This is a dream performance of Mozart's K. 503.
By the way, I'm curious to know how many people actually listen to music with the score on their hands. Following the music score can be a great distraction and it prevents the listener from being completely open to what the music and performer really says. In reality, the music notation of Mozart and Beethoven is often ambiguous and they had such improvisatory habits and flair while performing that I think it's wrong for today's performers (and listeners as well) to blindly follow the score as if it's the bible.
Also, I'd like to point out a mistake of one of the reviewers. In Argerich's DG recording of Beethoven concertos, she didn't conduct the orchestra herself. She was paired with conductor Sinopoli. However, she did play with London Sinfonietta without a conductor in her old EMI recording of Beethoven and Haydn concertos.

Really good.......2003-12-23
Since sometime ago I have been checking all the musicians that joins Prince from time to time or usually play with him, such as Rhonda Smith, RAD and of course Candy Dulfer. None of them disappointed me and specially not Candy Dulfer. She is an excellent musician and this live performance is an excellent proof of that, moreover she is clearly an experienced artist meaning by that the profesionalism and joyfulness of her live music performance. I totally recommend "Live in Amsterdam" for people that are cheking out Candy Dulfer for the first time, like me, or for any Jazz lover that can appreciate a really gifted and talented musician at work.
Execellent live recording.......2003-04-10
The CD captures Candy Dulfer at her best. This is a must for anyone who enjoys Candy's style of jazz!
Outstanding Performance!!.......2001-12-27
I have seen Ms. Dulfer perform in person and I am here to tell ya, this is by far one of the best representations of a live performance I have ever heard! This album should be listed as a must have for jazz lovers. I wish there was a DVD available for this show!
I usually change cd's in my cars about once a week. I have had this cd in one or the other for 2 months and I am still not tired of it! Every track seems to grow on you even if you are hearing the song for the first time! My kids (4 and 10) even find themselves singing along with portions of the album.
Do not hesitate! Even if you only barely like jazz, this is a no-brainer! Order it!
Fan-SAX-tic.......2001-04-25
This album is absolutely fantastic. It's a live recording of songs such as the classic "Lily was here", performed together with Dave Stewart. The Sax solo sent chills through my spine. This song was great when it was released in it's studio recording but is even better played live. Dave Stewart also performs on Synchrodestiny, a brand new song. Also on the CD is the Isley Brothers'song "For the love of you" on which Angie Stone does the vocals. "Pick up the pieces" is a great classic, which is also perfectly suited for a live recording such as this. It's really cheerfull and makes it hard to stand still when you hear it. To finish the recording Candy is joined by her father Hans Dulfer to perform "Dance 'till you Bop". A great CD which you should play really loud so you feel like the concert's live in your living room.

25 years later ToTo is still explosive.......2006-01-21
I've been a ToTo fan since their inception in 1977. I was fortunate enough to see and hear them live in New Orleans during the 1985 Isolation Tour. After watching this live video and listening to the live cd I can see and hear the energy level in their music like it was still 1977. This is a powerful live performance that will leave you with a greater respect for their musical ability. These guys are some of the most respected players in the music industry and have been for a few decades. It's nice knowing that they are still performing and influencing the younger generation of apprentice musicians.
FANTASTIC!!!.......2005-08-31
This is an AWESOME album and DVD!!! I don't know what happened to Mr. Christopher who just gave one star to this album, but this CD is just amazing. 25 years!! WOW!!! And still with the same finesse and musical touch that has characterized Toto through the years!! Lukather? Amazing! Paich? Superb!! Porcaro!! Groovy!! Spinner? Fabulous!! Kimball? Incredible!! The medleys are just fabulous!!! If you like Toto, or music in general PLEASE, DO BUY THIS ALBUM!!!
Embarassed.......2005-03-01
WOW! I like Toto but the vocals (specifically the lead singer) on this CD are enough to drive a man to drink. Too bad because all other aspects of the recording are pretty good? You just can't around that guys wailing ... it's embarassing? EH GADS!
Just for Fans.......2004-12-09
Hey Guys, Really great musicians, Of course they need a new vocalist to continue in this century. This album is only for fans who could help the band with the lyrics. Please buy the first live album instead or the DVD.
good to be 'Live'.......2004-03-29
I hve all toto's cd's, seen them 2 times, and I'm from ct, where
the 3 brothers are from . This is a good live cd, the songs sound
crisp, clean, and yet raw , meaning theres a little edge to them but not to the point where your not listening to a toto cd, meaning the sound is great which you get when you listen to a toto cd. When I go to a concert I want the songs and sound to sound just like the cd I bought and when you see toto in concet thats just what you get. I liked the arrangements on the songs
the vocals were good but his voice sounded a little weak on a couple songs but I know he has a great singing voice . The playing is outstanding of course and this is a good cd if your a
toto fan, or just a music fan
