About the Artist
Bob Stanley was born in Detroit, Michigan in the early 1960s. He grew up listening to guitar heavy bands such as Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Kiss, and Ted Nugent along with country pop favorites like The Eagles and Glen Campbell.
Becoming obsessed with guitar at the age of 10, he formed his first group at 15, playing for local school dances, parties, and clubs in his new hometown in northeastern Pennsylvania.
Moving to the Philadelphia area in the early '80s, performances in the Philly club scene also included producing tracks for other local groups.
His first album effort in 1994, Start the Fire, with his group WITZEND was a favorite on local radio and charted regionally.
In 1998, he released the single "Hands and Knees" with the band Jaquelyn Hyde from their first CD. The single charted in the US being played on over 300 college and commercial stations nationwide.
Bob's latest solo album is currently available featuring the first single "Sea of Tranquility", with a national promotion push in the works, including college and commercial radio, internet radio, and sponsorships at various popular online music sites.
His songs speak to the internet generation with tracks like Virtual Girl and Online Love Affair, while sustaining the heavy guitar influences of his past. The sound of the Bob Stanley Band is best described as "power" country, appealing to younger country music fans, much in the spirit of Shania Twain, Montgomery Gentry, Chris Cagle, and Rascal Flatts.
