A bargain collection of showtunes.......2005-08-19

This bargain collection of showtunes is highlighted by the composition of Kurt Weill and the uniquely rolling tongue of Colette Lyons. I have a complaint about this compilation. It includes "Ol' Man River", but it excludes Al Jolson's rendition of "Ol' Man River." Otherwise, this collection gives you ample bang for your buck.

I realy enjoyed this cd. It kinda took me back in the day. Although, I wasnt born during the time of the Negro Spirtituals, my spirit naturally gravitates to the calls of my ancestors. Jeanette Thompson brings a strong energy to the songs on the cd. If you like the Negro Spirituals from back in the day, you will enjoy this cd. If you like the sound of a Soprano, that will be a bonus. Sit back, relax and let your Soul remind you of just how far we have come, since the enslavement of a Afrikan people. Our Faith Is Unshakeable!!!We Are Here To Stay!!

This CD is great and belive it or not Ms. Susanne is MY voice teacher!!!! She set it up so I can sing with another girl on Sunday!!!!!! She is a wonderful singer and has great songs! And she has tons more that aren't on her CD! I was so excited when her CD came out and I bought it the day it came out!

Susanne is a very talented singer and this CD will not dissapoint!!! All the songs on this CD are awesome and very well written! She has a beautiful voice and this CD is full of songs you will want to re-play over and over again. This is also a great gift for any country music fan!!! It is hard to name my favorite song on this CD because they are all really good. This CD is well worth the money !!!

Better than what you hear on the radio stations.......2004-02-27

Susanne Haven is such a true talent.....her voice is beautiful, rich and clear.....and versatile. She can sing country in a way that is country but not twangy. Even people who dont like country will like this album. She writes her own songs, they are clever lyrically and wonderfully melodic. Some of my favorites......"Nothing You Did" is a very catchy song that just belongs on the country airwaves. "Same Old YOu" is just plain beautiful and haunting. "Aint that Like Life" also belongs on the radio. Susanne's rendition of "It is Well" is passionate and the most beautifully sung version I have heard. Puts a lump in my throat each time I hear it. This CD will not disappoint like many CD's that are coming out of the mega record companies today. Love it!
