5 out of 5 stars Great Alternative Christmas Album.......2005-12-29

I heard Ms. Jones sing "One Little Boy" on Austin's KUT "Eklektikos" program last year and immediately went out to buy this album. That song alone is worth the price of the CD, but you will find no 'clunkers' on this album. She has a really powerful voice, with a wide range of emotion. The songs range from the traditional (The Christmas Song), to the reverent (One Little Boy), to the truly sexy (You Light Me Up, and Sexy, Saucy...). This is one my absolute favorite Christmas albums, and one of only two that I could listen to anytime of the year (the other being Brave Combo's "It's Christmas Man!".

Rosita of the River Walk who they named a bridge after has enshrined herself into San Antonio's culture as much as Bob Will's and tish Hinojosa's San antonio Romeo".Now it is Stephanie Urbina Jones turn!Taco cabana's late night MUZAK pealed out her latest Christmas songs which two days earlier had graced as background music the citys River Walk Christmas parade and Lighting Ceremonies.Stephanie topped out the Texas Indie Music Charts this year and she is country heart and soul although Texans do not usuually disinguish when someone like her fills their senses of what it is like to be home with the making of tamales and the sweet bread gracing breakfast menus at office gatherings during the holiday month.Although from Nashville and an established songwiter she had to earn her wings coming back to Texas. Listenn a few hours to the http://ksym.org format at the san Antonio college and you will see how many local artists gain access to the ADULT ALTERNATIVE FORMAT. Jones place on the3rd coast music network is also well deserved..see her links http://www.accd.edu/tcmn Come home to Texas and the Alamo city for this christmas season with her super CD...maybe Vikki Carr can share a little spotlight?Oh did I mention.. Stephanie was Grand Marshall of the river walk parade sponsored by the paseo del rio association?

I had the great privilege of playing with Stephanie at a friend's wedding last year. We played one of her originals, Velvet Rope, which is simply a beautiful piece of music. I am very impressed with her song writing ability, her voice and style. She even plays a fine guitar.

    Take a listen!!

This is an incredible cd! The lyrics speak to your heart and the music makes you want to dance - it lifts away your gloomies and makes you happy to be alive! I highly recommend this wonderful cd!
