I am a great nanci fan. This album is so slick and overproduced that it is incredible that nanci ever released it. a pink sofa you should never buy.

I have never understood why many Nanci listeners consider this her worse. To me it is a masterpiece.
All tracks are marvellous & the production adds to the tone & drama. But if I had to chose one as 'the best' it would be "Just Another Morning Here".
I know little of Nanci's personal life but I suspect this is one of her most autobiographical compositions.

Of all Nanci's CD's (and I own them all), this has to be one of the best. It is classic Nanci, with some very pretty, catchy
tunes done only as Nanci could do them. If you are looking for one of Nanci's older CD's because you like her newer ones, this is a buy for you. You won't be disappointed.

Tired of listening to the dry songs Nanci turned to in the 90's? well here's a refreshing return to the wonderful folkabilly that was her hallmark.It's Morning Here, Hometown Streets, Heaven,The Sun and One Blade Shy of A Sharp Edge, are my favorites! And if you love the old Nanci,trust me!These songs are a PLUS! You will play this album over and over. I especially love the opening for It's Morning Here!If you LOVED the MCA years, you will LOVE this one.

      This duo is excellent. Jen Carter-Kelly has an awesome voice and the numbers with Bruce have very nice harmonization. Guitar playing is also very solid by both of them. This has a couple of covers, but most of the music is original. Top notch backup on some songs with help from Junior Barber and Eric Gibson.

            Album Description

            Much of this music comes from a different time and place, when swing was king, smoky dance halls resonated with acousic jazz & swing, and bluegrass music was was evolving from the roots of the Appalachian Mountains and melding with the blues. Music that faded with the onslaught of rock, yet was such a great influence on it. A mix of vintage swing, bluegrass, western swing, folk; covers and originals. All tied together by great playing on acoustic instruments; resophonic guitar (Dobro-tm),upright bass, mandolin, guitar, & fiddle. Vocals range from high & lonesome three part harmony, to sultry solos. The songs come all over the place; Benny Goodman, Bill Monroe, Red Foley, Asleep at the Wheel, the movie "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou", and Red Knuckles & the Trailblazers. Diane's originals span swing and bluegrass, but don't confuse the two.
