    Album Description

    On Patrik Tanner's sophmore outing with the Faraway Men, he takes a turn towards a Bakersfield sound reminecent of Merle Haggard and Buck Owens. The lyrics are all about leaving and the Faraway Men play one mean shuffle after another. Things get downright sentimental on a few ballads that echoes producer Billy Sherrill's work with George Jones in the mid-70's. Top notch storytelling and one great sounding album.

    If your a fan of Alt-Country or Americana, this is a must have. Patrik Tanner is a major talent that is, as yet, undiscovered by the mainstream. Patrik's albums have taken a permenant place in my CD player next to Wilco, the Beatles, the Jayhawks and Mike Nesmith's amazingly good solo work. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up.

    Patrik puts it together on this album of country influence rock. The song Freeborn, Idaho is one of the best relationship ending songs. Don't hear much from Patrik and the Faraway Men these days, however, great album if you like the genre.

    The first time I heard the band was just two weeks ago. I was at my aunt & uncle's house when Mark Juenemann, who is a friend of my cousins, came over and he had a demo CD of some of their music. I listened to one song and I knew that I wanted to get a CD of theirs. You could say I was hooked.
