Refreshing and Alive...Go Get IT!!!.......2007-05-23
This is my first review on Amazon, and of all the CD's that I have rated, this is the first one to get an actual review from me because it's so worth your money. How ever much you pay, it's worth every single penny.
Where do I begin: I heard snippets of this CD as I was walking through Brookstone at BWI to my gate, they had it playing on a Bose stereo and it sounded great. I passed it by and thought I would get it online or at another store after I returned, but i couldn't remember the name and couldn't find the cover. A second time I was flying out of BWI, I didn't hesitate, I walked right in to the store and bought it with a pair of new ear-plugs to listen to this cd on my cd player. I have to say, this is the one time I was glad I had a CD player and not an IPOD. I listed to this CD for over 3 hours, on repeat, as I flew in to Colorado.
Let me say this and you can judge for yourself when you buy it... I had my bf listen to it and all he listens to is Reggaeton and HE enjoyed it very much. I decided that this was going to be a cd that I gave as a gift to my friends, but I truly felt it was a gift to myself when I bought it. I went back to the mall and bought the last 4 remaining copies, to send to my friends. I even recommeneded to the cashier and told him to buy it for his wife and he did.
All I can say is JUST LISTEN TO IT..Every song is great, which is why I didn't list any to be better than others, because they are all equally orginal. BTW, the way she recorded this was very motown, she had a live band in the studio playing the instrumentals while she sang, makes for a better sound to her songs and it's a perfect balance of music and lyrics.
Very Fine Material.......2007-02-17
We (my partner and I) discovered Julie Crochetiere (A member of Sugar Jones) while dining at 'Del Canale' (Nouveau Italian cuisine) restaurant here in Little Burgundy (Montreal). Patricia Vetter ('Del Canale' Owner) happened to be playing the CD when we sat down to eat, and I was immediately blown away. Patricia happens to be the wife of Tony Albino (Julie's Producer). Not only did I have the privilege of discovering this album, We also met Julie's parents and family at 'Del Canale' last weekend. The family are really sweet and I'm even more anxious to meet Julie in person at the 'launching' of the CD (here in town).
'A Better Place' is smooth, jazzy and exactly what you want to hear when you're sitting down to a quiet dinner with family or friends. I particulary like tracks 5,8,9,10,11, although the album is just perfect as a whole. Because I have a pre-release version of the album (in a digipack with complete tracklisting, artwork & credits), I'm not sure if all will be exactly the same when the officially released CD hits the stores. My CD is housed in a matte digipack with matte booklet and beautiful artwork throughout the packaging. The CD is pale cyan in color with darker cyan floral graphics and white text. It's very pretty and perfectly accents Julie's turquoise gown. Inside the front flap of the digipack, you'll find the booklet.
Julie's voice reminds me very much of 'Sia Furler' and Sophie Barker (vocalists from 'Zero 7'). Smooth & extremely expressive & moving, Julie's voice can stop a conversation in an instant. That's how I feel when I listen to her rendition of Elton John's "Someone Saved my Life Tonight" and Paul Simons' "Slip Sliding Away". I wish Julie all the best in her career and will certainly purchase some music from Sugar Jones.

Customer Reviews:
it turned out to be rather good, after all.......2007-01-24
i had problems with the post office when i ordered this initially, but Amazon straightened everything out. their customer service team really came through. i am well aware this is not a review of the album (yet), but it does inform potential buyers that the customer service here is outstanding. anyway, as for the cd: there are 3 amazing tracks on this disc, making the overall purchase VERY worthwhile. for Patton fans, the closest comparison is the Kaada/Patton Romances CD in the way that it has some actual lyrics, but mostly sounds. the orchestration on this is stunning on most tracks. on track 10, i cannot believe the drums, it sounds like a programmed beat, not a live orchestra. i obviously don't have a degree in this subject, but i can tell you that it's moving, uplifting, and worldly sounding. really diverse, yet good flow. #7,9, and 10 are my favorites. #7 reminds me of these crazy old filmstrips you'd watch in music class in elementary school. actually it sounds like a cut directly from the movie Masque of the Red Death with Vincent Price. oddly on this same disc, track 9 could be played at a wedding and it'd fit right in. once #9 or 10's in your head, it's stuck- they're good ones. hope this review was helpful.
a bit sterile.......2005-06-04
I bought this CD because of the extremely positive reviews I had read on this page, but, after listening to it a few times, I thought I needed to provide some counterpoint. I held many expectations for this album upon reading the reviews, few of which were realized.
I don't know why one reviewer would have listed all those genres and composers, insinuating that Virginal Co Ordinates is some sort of culmination of 500 years of music. It's not. It's not a bad album, but it's no milestone. If you're expecting "Scottish folk and Villa-Lobos and Icelandic post-rock all on the same album," you'll be disappointed.
I'll take you through "Doorway to the Sun," and you can decide for yourself:
-starts off, we're at 3:30 into it, and there's been some pizzicato noodling. a little dissonance. some of pink floyd's "echoes" sound effects in the background, seems like. yeah, this has been going on for a while.
-alright, it's building, a little. we've got some percussion now. we're 7 minutes into it. it's got a good vibe to it, but it feels like the music that would play during a video montage of me making a toothpick structure.
-alright, 9:30. the music has really layered itself to a point of cohesiveness, and that's gratifying. it took a very long time to do so, though, and the song could have equally as effectively started right here. it hasn't been "bending genres" for these past nine minutes, after all, it's been building up within the confines of one, one genre, one tempo, one key.
-now we're at 14:00, and mike patton has been chanting along. the vocals are another instrument, which is always refreshing, especially when patton does it, but is something going to happen? i could fall asleep to this music, but should i be actively listening to it?
-ever play medal of honor, or whatever that wwII videogame is with the trumpet in the beginning? man, this whole album reminds me of that.
-hey, the music is deconstructing itself exactly the way it built up, but backwards.
-now it's over.
So, as you can see, I did not just have a life-altering experience. It's good music to put on while you're sitting in a cubicle or reading an intense book, but otherwise it gets a bit dry, emotionless, repetitive, and predictable.
What if . . . .......2005-05-10
What if the entire history of Western Christian mysticism, William Blake, plainsong, Tantum Ergo, polyphony, Renaissance dance, Baroque, German Romanticism, Gamelan, South Indian classical, Japanese folk song, Icelandic chill-out, Olivier Messiaen, Alva Noto, microtonalism, Samuel Barber, Daniel Lanois without the cheese, Native American, Appalachian, Scottish folk, North African Berber, Nu-pop, ambient drone, Minimalism, Industrial, beat poetry, cosmic consciousness, post-rock, Toronto Indie Apocalypse, Van Dyke Parks, chamber jazz, Richard Strauss, Gustav Mahler, Gustav Holst, The Beach Boys, Sun Ra, Eric Satie, Heitor Villa Lobos, Phillip Glass, and New Music sensibilities were all to be assimilated, processed, deconstructed, and retrieved in one enormous, death-defyingly gorgeous, show-stoppingly virtuosic yet eminently listenable and instantly accessible disc? That's a pitiful attempt to capture in words what is going on in this absolutely astounding album, certainly a landmark, a watershed in the history of recorded music.
Just the shear scope of the soundscape boggles the mind. A basic six-piece unit (Michael White, violin; Mike Patton, voice, electronics; Tim Young, electric guitar; Tucker Martine, live sound processing; Evan Schiller sound movements; and Evyind Kang, violin and composer) is augmented by a sixteen-piece orchestra featuring woodwinds, brass, strings, acoustic and electric guitar, keyboards, accordion, percussion, and drums. Kang has written some absolutely mesmeric compositions featuring all of the styles noted in the first paragraph, which are then arranged and played in a most compelling and beguiling manner. Certainly the inclusion of such noted sound manipulators as Patton, Schiller, and Martine contribute greatly to the sweep and grandeur of the musical palette. But perhaps the most salient fact about this disc is that it is a live recording, albeit, thankfully, with none of the annoying audience interruptions that all too frequently accompany such undertakings.
The centerpiece is the 19:23 "Doorway to the Sun," which must be heard to be believed (or vice versa). Here composer Kang pulls out all the stops, creating a map of the musical universe that encompasses the farthest reaches of Ultima Thule, maelstroms, blasted heaths, ocean bottoms, planetary cycles, black holes, desert sunsets, double helixes, equinoxal precessions, 80-foot Cortez Reef, Uluru, Rapa Nui, Chichen Itza, and all points in between. The chantlike vocals coming in at about 10:20, courtesy of the inimitable Mike Patton, largely unintelligible, yet strangely understandable, s(h)immer with repeated words/phrases like "seven, seven, seven key [____]" "interplanetary [____]" "astral intelligence gave them," "liberation receive them," "heavenly firmament kiss it," "multiplicity dissolvent" "spirit of the innocents save them"--or similar utterances. And even though they make no rational sense, they resonate with the deepest racial memories and human sentiments summed up by the world's greatest myths and religious stories. Sound like New Age blather? Maybe, but I don't think so.
The rest is nearly as remarkable, if not quite as ambitious and far reaching. I am especially taken with the title cut, impossible dense yet unfolding with crystal clarity, sonically startling with its ominous percussive underpinnings, white noise wash, and massive brass assault yet featuring the most remarkable sound imaging where even single string instruments and belllike nuances ring out from the speakers. Indeed, from a production standpoint alone, this disc deserves highest praises. Other favorites include "Sidi Bou Said," with its faux East Indian textures, oriental oboe, and spot-on ensemble voicings, and "Innocent Eye, Crystal See," a simple melodic statement that just keeps unfolding with a magical assortment of string, percussive, and wind voicings until it becomes, finally, an incredibly rich sound tapestry. Not surprisingly, my favorite numbers are the three longest, where Kang and the players get to display the full monty of their instrumental and vocal glory.
Eyvind Kang, someone always worth listening to, has here produced not only his masterpiece, but in my humble opinion, the greatest disc of the young millennium, music that sets the bar so impossibly high that I don't see it being topped anytime soon.
Recommended, and that's not auto-Patton Praise.......2005-04-24
A rare example of work that is original (some very interesting use of violin et al), beautiful, and haunting. Those are words I would normally stone someone for using, but this album deserves them. Don't assume that you'll like Kang's other work if you like this. Mike Patton contributes- I like a lot of his work and recognise he's a lightning rod for gushing praise/criticism; but the result is subtle and his vocals add to the strength of the performance (believe this is live). It's also very accessible- I listen to all manner of noise that most of the people around me loathe, but all and sundry seem to love this one...
Kang and Patton, a perfect team........2005-04-02
I have always loved Mike Patton's work. I'd never previously heard of Eyvind Kang before this album. A friend put me onto this and it is a masterpiece. Put this album on with some headphones, close your eyes, and this album will take you beyond what words can describe.

A gorgeous, overstuffed Scheherazade a la Stokowski.......2006-02-21
Disney never set Scheherazade to animation, but if they ever do, this splashy, at times volcanic reading is the one they should choose. Stokowski recorded the work four times that I know of. This, the last, originally came out in Decca's Phase 4 Stereo (they've recently reissued it in a box set of Stokowski's complete Decca recordings, the bulk of which were for Phase 4), an early venture in extreme multi-miking. Every solo instrument marches forward and plays as loud as the rest of the orchestra combined, no mean feat for a bassoon.
In a sour mood I cringe at the vulgarity of this performance compared to Reiner's classic reading with the Chicago on RCA, but most of the time I realize that Scheherazade isn't the B Minor Mass, so why not goose it up? Musically speaking, Stokowski has a wonderful sense of drama and his many tempo fluctuations, though operatic, are in the gorgeous, overstuffed spirit of the work.
The Best Scheherazade I've Heard.......2005-11-28
I grew up listening to this recording on its original Phase 4 LP. Over the years I've owned or listened to other recordings of Scheherazade while waiting for this one to be released on CD. I missed its Decca CD release and am now thankful that Cala has reissued it. It is the best recording of Scheherazade out there. Stokowski was not rigid in his tempos for this recording and the music flows freely, hanging onto and savoring a phrase or note here, driving forward with intensity there. Stokowski really pulled the passion in the piece out of the London Symphony and they play exceptionally well and with fine solo playing throughout (I love the bassoon and oboe solos that come near the beginning of the second movement). Compared to this one, other recordings seem mechanical and passionless. The Marche Slav recording was done at a live concert and has some extremes in its tempi. In spite of this it is well played and has a thrilling ending. The bonus tracks of the rehearsal process are fascinating and brought back memories of my high school days in band and orchestra. You will not be disappointed by this recording.
It's good but maybe not what the critics said.......2004-06-29
Here's the "new" old "Scheherazade" from Stokowski that sent critics on both sides of the Atlantic a-twitter when it was re-released last year. Writers from Gramophone to American Record Guide went bonkers over this, exclaiming it the most exciting Stokowski "Scheherazade" ever recorded...even more exciting than his 1940 Philadelphia version that some writers love to no end. The sound on this CD is outstanding, just about out of this world. It was originally one of London's famous Phase 4 recordings, sometimes made with as many as 20 microphones and mixed like a modern high energy ensemble dance tune with a half-dozen engineers having input as well as the conductor. Stokowski loved tinkering with sound and you hear it all throughout this CD. Even though this is a garish-sounding CD, I agree with everything everyone said about all the sterling first chair players and soloists in the middle 1960s London Symphony Orchestra. They all play real well and put in a big time performance for the old man. However, I can't rate this version as highly as the RCA Victrola Royal Philharmonic Orchestra version where concertmaster Eric Gruenberg performed the violin solo better than in his London Symphony recording. Another thing that performance had going for it -- along with Gruenberg's exceptionally sweet playing -- is powerful timpani strokes in the opening "Sea and Sinbad's Ship" and during the closing pages of the performance, one of the most coloratura, kaleidoscopic wide screen symphonic canvasses ever composed. I like the Cala re-release and no praise could be too high for the sound or the solo work. But, for reasons stated above, I like the RPO version better and am far more satisfied with it than with the overripe London account. The RCA CD is also manufactured sound -- meaning not natural -- but the spotlighted timpani and better bass response lend a Russian feeling to the music that is lacking in this version.

GREAT CD!.......2000-03-15
What more can I say? It made me laugh and cry! A really emotional, beautiful score.
WOW! POWERFUL SONGS--Made me cry!.......2000-01-19
This musical is beautifully written. For a piece about AIDS it is suprisingly humorous--the song "DADDY'S PLAYBOY MAGAZINES" proves that! But other songs like "What If" and "You won't Die Alone" really can hit close to home. Very good stuff here!
COOL MUSICAL!.......1999-12-28
I got this CD because the title sounded cool! The music is really great. I wasn;t crazy about all of the singers, but the leads were great. And I really liked the music and lyrics. Song called "something bound to begin" has a very clever premise about gay men meeting and the song "you won't die alone" was very moving. I wish there were more songs, only 10 but they were all good. I've never heard of the writer, but he seems pretty talented. I'm getting his other cds next.
Imaginative and Unique Little Musical.......1999-12-28
I saw a production of MOST MEN ARE in New York in 1999 and I loved it! I had read that the CD was released in a great OUT magazine review but never could find it until AMAZON! The songs are incredibly original...My favorites are "DADDY'S PLAYBOY MAGAZINES" and "WE COULD RENT A MOVIE" The singers sound great and the orchestrations are really fun sounding. It really captrues the humorous and dramatic spirit of this great play. I still cry when I hear the last few songs. If you are looking for a rare, ecclectic off-b'way musical, this is the one to get!

Give it a rest ...........2005-06-14
Even though I'm an aging rock n roller, I still find a lot of new Christian groups worth a listen, and will support their efforts by keeping my teenage kids tuned in. Of course, we could always promote the garbage that spews out of the secular world ... after all, it is very original and expressive, but I'll pass on the message of the music, thank you.
When a group like Overflow emerges, they deserve a chance. These guys relate God's love to kids (and old rock n rollers) with simple but important messages, and have a great sound to carry it along. Crank it up and you'll see.
I bought this CD because I take it at face value...it's a good listen. And yep, I'm a Third Day kind of guy so I may be biased. And nope, I'm not being paid by Overflow to promote. I heard some of their music on Christian radio, liked what I heard, my kids liked it, so we bought it. That's how it works folks.
More Worship Than Praise.......2005-05-03
Like my title suggests, this CD has a few more worship-style songs than praise hooks, but a very worthy listen regardless! I think "Cry On My Shoulder" should be required listening by anyone that has ever been letdown or disappointed by anything. A great song that really puts this young band on the Christian music map!!
Good Start.......2005-02-17
This is a good Christian pop rock album. The strength here is the sincerity of the music and a vocalist who can carry this group a long way. Think Goo Goo Dolls with a Christian message and you'll be in the Overflow ballpark. At three stars this is an enjoyable album and gives the band room to grow on.
Short, Simple, and Enjoyable.......2004-10-31
Overflow's "A Better Place" isn't the most original music you will ever hear. This release probably isn't going to blow you away, but its still pretty decent. The music and lyrics focus on God, but both are simple and to the point, and most of the songs are pretty short. Their style is your standard rock sound, for the most part above average.
Who says everything has to be ground breaking and complex to be enjoyable? There are still kool guitar riffs, pretty piano parts, and strings here and there which are nice. I personally would have liked to of heard a little more of that stuff, especially the piano. Injecting more of the piano player would have given them a more original sound. The sound of a singer's voice is very important to me, and Overflow's vocalist is enjoyable.
The highlights of the cd are Come Home, Cry On My Shoulder, Forever, and Just for Me. For those songs the cd is worth buying. I wouldn't pay 17 bucks for this like alot of Christian distributors charge, but then again I wouldn't pay that much for any cd. I'm interested to see what Overflow do with their talents in the future. A good debut release.
AWESOME!!!!!.......2004-09-05
That's the best word I can think of to describe it. The guys did a great job with this cd. I love this cd. And, they are not paying me to say that! It would be nice, though, if they would. :p Hee Hee Seriously, they're nice guys. This cd deserves everyone's attention. I've had it since the day it came out, and I'm still not sick of it. (:

Album Description
This is the follow-up to Goldrush's 2005 US debut "Ozona". Hailing from Oxford, England, these five musicians can best be described as Flaming Lips meets Grandaddy and Wilco. Combining the classic elements of indie rock folk with swirling, fuzzed-out guitars make Goldrush a band that relies on equal parts old and new.
Customer Reviews:
Music with heart.......2007-05-17
According to the band's website, this group was just about through after their last album. Music fans are lucky that they decided to try and make it work, the result of which was the best album of early 2007.
With noticeable influences in The Flaming Lips and Radiohead, Goldrush offers a lush, spacey sound to complement the big-picture, universal lyrical themes that journey through the modern city life, technological dilemmas, and the hardships of an impossible social condition.
And in the end, Goldrush's solution to the challenges they present is nothing new--it is the musical theme par excellence, love--but the band is believable and convincing in their promotion of "the heart" unlike so many modern rock bands who issue the same demand for love.
The melodies and instrumentation are masterfully crafted and flow into a cohesive whole just like any great album's do. This is a real treat for anyone who likes music that makes a point. Enjoy, and hopefully these guys will stick together for more work!

Album Description
"Rather than baring the entirety of his soul and forcing us to experience his pain along with them, Garred chooses to take those innermost thoughts and wrap them in pleasant, quiet folk songs." - POPMATTERS
Having entered double-digit territory with his recording legacy (numbered by volumes) we find Scott Garred's musical alter ego Super XX Man singing Volume XI from A Better Place. No one word will describe this better place, but without question the song cycle conjures up themes of nesting, family values, domestic life, companionship, and lost youth, all from a refreshing, non-didactic point of view. This is universally charming music. Super XX Man is Scott Garred, Michelle Garred, and Alison Wesley. Like family, they belong together. Wesley lands the drums, flute, and harmony vocals that reflect Garred's delicate yet rich tenor voice. Look out Willie Nelson--Super XX Man and family are on the way!

Inspiring Music to Deepen Your Holy Faith.......2003-10-20
It's beautiful to hear Babbie Mason's contemporary songs. As lay Carmelite I really enjoy her songs which are so full of Christian JOY! I know you'll like her music too! She proves that Christianity is anything but boring.
Isn't That Just Like God.......2001-11-15
I really love this album. It cuts through any contemporary babble and goes straight to the issues of being truly converted. The lyrics, the musical representation, and the vocal presentation all combine together for the purpose of getting the gospel message across to the listener.
I always quote "Isn't that Just Like God" when the Lord makes me aware of his awesomeness through those little miracles He does especially for me (for His glory alone) in my daily walk with Him.
My other favorite tracks are: PRAY ON!, Change Me Now, and the song that just makes me rewind a multitude of times back to back...that shoutin', hand-clappin', church-stompin', (I think you get my drift) Stand Up and Praise Him! Oops. Wrong artist, wrong album. The song is: SHOW SOME SIGN! I really like the message in that. The words that I like in it go something like..."I know I'm not saved by my feelings, but it sure feels good to be saved!"
And by the way, CHECK OUT TIMELESS! It's a Babbie Mason Classic.
No Better Buy!.......2001-10-16
I absolutely love this CD. My 3 year old daughter begs to hear it every time we get in the car. My favorite is "Isn't That Just Like God." The lyrics are beautiful and my spirit is simply lifted after listening to it.
powerful and wonderful.......2001-07-13
I first heard the song Pray On on the radio, and I was so impressed that I combed through a number of music stores, but none had any Babbie Mason. Of course I found it right away on the internet. Not only is the song Pray On fantastic, but the whole album makes my kids dance, twirl and sing through the house. The message is great and so is the music.
WOW.......2000-11-16
If you're looking, here it is. Listen up, watch out for Babbie's son, Chaz, he is off the hinges. If you have a chance to check out one of these great spiritual singers, a Must Do!! oh, uuuaa!

Customer Reviews:
A BETTER ALBUM, PLEASE.......2000-11-28
BUSHMAN is often compared to Luciano or Dennis Brown, however accurate this may be; these comparisons are unfair because they don't emphasize his own talent. BUSHMAN has versatility and a vocal range that, to these ears, surpasses those to whom he is often compared. His husky, resonant baritone voice can swoop and soar far beyond the clouds.
BUSHMAN is one of my favorite artists. His debut album, "NYAH MAN CHANT" is always finding its way on to my CD player. Critics have praised his first release and went absolutely crazy over his second release, "TOTAL COMMITMENT."
On his third release, 2000's "A BETTER PLACE," BUSHMAN struggles to maintain the potential promised on his first 2 albums. Unfortunately, BUSHMAN along with the British production team, Stingray, doesn't deliver the goods. "A BETTER PLACE" is not a bad album, but when compared to his last two releases, it just doesn't stand up.
From listening to the first few bars of the opening track, "LOVE WILL TURN YOU AROUND," I was aware that BUSHMAN was stretching himself thin by attempting to appeal to a larger market. This non-dancehall, weak attempt at R&B is both smarmy and disappointing. Track 2, "DOESN'T MATTER" is only a slight improvement, with its subject matter concerning the healing power of music. The song is dancehall but the only thing it has in common with reggae is the snare drum accenting the 3rd beat of each measure.
It was not until I first heard the 3rd track on the album; "GANGSTER LIFE" was I reminded of why BUSHMAN is a brilliant artist. It takes "GANGSTER LIFE" to kick start the album. The laid back music with its use of a percussive triangle and a violin playing, "The Theme from the Godfather," is the perfect backdrop for this gritty song as BUSHMAN sings, "Gangsters are living high, like they wanna touch the sky, they don't care if another man live__ or die." This song alone is worth the price of admission.
Other material on the album includes spiritual themes such as "HIGHER" and "ONLY JAH," while "YOU GOT ME GOING" concerns the topic of a cheating lover. BUSHMAN takes the topics he sings about seriously and with sincerity but sometimes this comes at a price. The song, "MAMA" is almost laughable. The lyrics sound stale as he talks over the song's intro, "Throughout the years you've given me your undivided attention," he says, "You've support me through all my adversaries..." BUSHMAN sounds like he's reading from a Hallmark greeting card. Don't get me wrong, writing a song about one's mom is a wonderful idea, but BUSHMAN makes the song sound like a list of clichéd phrases recited over a redundant musical track.
My favorite song on "A BETTER PLACE" is the tune, "BACK WEH VAMPIRE." BUSHMAN and background vocalists stretch out the word "weh" (away) when they sing "Back weeeehhhh, vampire!" Their harmony is so beautiful that it's bound to scare away any bad spirits. The laid-back beat, congas, Middle Eastern style flute and keyboard produced bat shrieks make this song sound like some sort of an eerie voodoo sacrament. Very wicked! Bushman tackles sociopolitical themes on such songs as, "WHAT YOU GONNA DO" where he challenges politicians to keep their campaign promises regarding street violence. BUSHMAN means business when he sings in frustration, "What you gonna do, now you win your vote. Tell me what is it your gonna promote, Babylon?" he asks, "Now you win your seat, what they gonna do for them youth on the street?" It is this sort of song that convince me that BUSHMAN is not just riding the roots style lyrical bandwagon, but that he believes every word he sings. I can feel it in his voice.
"A BETTER PLACE" is not a bad album but when compared to his previous work, this disc just doesn't compare. In all fairness to BUSHMAN, it would be almost impossible to match let alone surpass the quality of his 2 previous albums. This album doesn't take away his credibility. It is the fact that he's adjusted the music but not the lyrical message on "A BETTER PLACE" that continues to keep him at the top of the list of current young roots performers.
Respect! -Mark "Homebody" Groesbeck
