About the Artist
Jim Duff grew up playing music in the hills of Waynesburg Kentucky. His music is a new, original take on the blues, rock-n-roll, and country sounds of the past. Jim's dedication to music and writing started soon after he picked up the guitar at twelve years old. Over the years Jim has taught himself to play the piano, mandolin and drums. He shares the soul and passion of the people who have influenced him. These influences vary widely from Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan to Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson to Bob Wells and Willie Nelson to Lynard Skynard and countless others. Jim Duff's contemporary approach to Acoustic Music sets the stage, for what could be known as "the start of something new". Jim's professional experiences include performing at high-level political events for such politicians as President Bill Clinton. Jim has recently moved to Los Angeles and is currently writing new songs for his up and coming CD due out this winter. Jim landed his first feature film gig in Ben Affleck up and coming movie "Surviving Christmas". The movie was filmed in Hollywood and produced by Dream Works. Jim teamed up with Hasting Music Inc. in March of 1999 to help promote his first CD "Whoda Thunk It" and U. S. tour, which ran form Fort Wayne Indiana to Rocky Mount North Carolina. Jim also played several big festivals including the Owensboro Kentucky Barbeque festival, the Black Gold Festival located in Hazard Kentucky along with the Benefit for Veterans fundraiser located in Villa Rica Georgia. Jim moved to Puerto Rico in April 2001 to reach a new fan base. The people of Puerto Rico attached themselves to the American acoustic sounds of Jim Duff.
