About the Artist
Biography of Cole Seaver

Thunderous applause like no sound you have ever witnessed fills the stadium, the arena, and every other place the national artist, Cole Seaver, performs. It is the same every time. From the frenzied mania of young fans to the silent smiles of those who are older, Cole envelopes his listeners in a momentary blanket allowing them to escape from the world in which they live. It is this end result he strives for at every cost. Whether it is a slow ballad depicting the heartache of a lost love or a foot stompin' rockabilly tune he cannot possibly remain physically still to sing, he offers every facet of his being through his music. Such is revealed in his debut album, "No Tears".

Created collaboratively with best friend and partner, Tammie Darlene, Cole describes the production with great enthusiasm.

"The album is everything a listener could want! Whether they are riding in the truck with the windows down trying to find something to listen to or just hanging out at a weekend party, there's a variety of music to choose from. That's probably a primary reason this production has meant so much to me. I know the music I have written and selected are a combination of songs to meet my listeners expectations. They were my top priority when considering which songs I would record. I mean nobody wants to go out and buy a CD full of nothing but sappy tear in my bear songs," he chuckles, "People want a mix. And the album gives them just that."

A more accurate statement could not be made. Ensuring the variety of music was not Cole's only concern, however. In addition, he was determined to find just the right studio to do his and Tammie's work in. Recorded and produced at Hilltop Studios in Nashville, Tennessee on the CountryStock Record Label, the album features infamous musicians who have also provided instrumentation for other national artists such as Travis Tritt, Alan Jackson, Loretta Lynn, etc. With all of the logistics in place, Cole heavily deliberated over which songs to record narrowing his selections down to six solos and a duet with Tammie. Both meticulously critiqued every facet of every song ensuring quality from a perfectionist standpoint.

In all of the three fast songs on the album, Cole sings from a perspective similar to the fun-loving country guy he really is. "My Hoochie Wants to Coochie" is pure country in its most raw form. It is nothing uncommon to watch Cole leap with guitar in hand from the stage into the crowd as the women begin screaming upon simply hearing the first few notes of either song. "1-800-I-Love-You" is another rockabilly tune with country at the very heart of it. Cole sings of making up and promises to change his wild ways if the girl will just communicate with him and dial 1-800-I-Love-You! Incorporating and revealing a softer side of his rebel-like personality, Cole includes three slow songs on the album. Revealing a unique style of his own with mild characteristics of those he grew up listening to such as George Jones, George Strait, Ronnie Milsap, etc. shining through, Cole forces his listeners to feel the heartache and sympathetically pine over a long lost love in "Oklahoma Rain! ", "And Then Some", and "Crackers and Wine". The melodious sound of his voice resonates gently leaving listeners in memory of similar life experiences they have had. No matter the song, Cole assures his fans will take the trip he is going on from start to stop, from the beginning note to the finale.

"It's important to me that they feel what I feel when I'm singing my music. That's what makes you sing that familiar song on the radio. That's what makes you listen to the tear in my bear song over and over again. It's the fact that you feel and relate to the singer and moreover to the song itself."

Growing up in Daytona Beach, Florida, Cole listened to many genres of music always keeping country at the top of his list. From his earliest years listening to th

3 out of 5 stars good but not the best.......2007-06-02

I don't like this album, but is my own opinion, for me no rest for the wicked is more good.

4 out of 5 stars No More Tears Ozzy O........2007-03-12

Eight of the 10 tracks on the cd are excellent, it was a good purchase for me!

5 out of 5 stars It's about his recovery.......2007-01-12

As far as lyrics go, "No More Tears" is Ozzy's best. In certain songs, there are glimmering hints of how honest he was with himself while getting clean. That takes courage.

"Road to Nowhere" summarizes a moral inventory Ozzy takes during his recovery days. While cryptic, the guilt and shame he expresses is balls-out honest and well put.

In "I Don't Want to Change the World," he sets his boundaries with religious hypocrites. But what stands out is his own relationship with God.

If you're expecting Sabbath, "Blizzard," or "Diary," put your expectations away. This album is unique, yet still light years ahead of so many more albums out there. As is to be expected with every album by Ozzy and band.

5 out of 5 stars ozzy rules!.......2007-01-09

absolutely one of the BEST ozzy albums ever! Zaks playing style really comes out on this and you can hear the beginnings of his now legendary musical talents on this album. Its awesome.

5 out of 5 stars Ozzy Rocks.......2007-01-04

This album is one of Ozzy's best. It is the one that got me to listen to Ozzy in the first place. It has made me a die-hard Ozzy fan.

5 out of 5 stars A musical treasure-box.......2006-09-10

Both the music and this actual product are masterpieces. John Dowland's collected works here - covering 12 compact discs - exhibit the depth and power of this composer, a composer who many now regard as suffering from clinical depression. I doubt that the issue of the diagnosis of Dowland's depression can ever be settled, however, it is certainly obvious from his music, so completely on display here, that he was a man with very dark depths and corners in his mind. Dowland's various manifestations and "takes" on his own tune, "Flow my tears"/"Lachrimae" are here. This tune has haunted me ever since I first heard it when I was a child. It seems to sum up Dowland's feelings - at least Dowland seems to have thought so.

The First, Second, Third and Fourth Bookes of Songes, A Musicall Banquet, the keyboard transcriptions, all the lute music, consort music are here and virtually everything else written or supposedly written by John Dowland. Anthony Rooley and The Consort of Musicke perform this music with style and feeling throughout. This 12 CD set is something of a monument to the ensemble - I only wish they'd finished their collection of Monteverdi madrigals, which was equally good (La Venexiana are currently doing a magnificent job of recording all Monteverdi's books of madrigals for the GLOSSA label).

This is an expensive set, however, you will probably never need to buy another John Dowland CD again after buying and listening to this collection.

I bought this CD set on a mild Summer evening of 1998 and listened to it while sitting in my sun room - which a glorious orange sunset in progress, and a glass of wine. It brought back so many memories.

5 out of 5 stars a beautiful journey into melancholy.......2001-06-15

I'm amazed at how many people tend to associate John Dowland's music with a tragic sense of drama. While no doubt this is art highly based on sadness, the "tragic" sense of it is more a legacy from the Romantic period. During the Renaissance, however, sadness was undestood as a very aesthetic way of approaching life. That is also the reason why Shakespeare's tragedies appear more sophisticated than his comedies.

Dowland, a contemporary of Shakespeare, discovered that meditating on a sad theme is, at the same time, a way of discovering a special beauty that we tend to avoid (maybe because of the "tragic" heritage of the Romantics). So, in the end, meditating on sadness is an uplifting experience! This box set is a journey into melancholy that includes songs, chamber music, pieces for lute, some rare sacred music and -as a highlight- Dowland's beautiful collection of seven pieces for viola which he called "Lachrimae" (Tears).

5 out of 5 stars NO MORE ALBUMS LIKE THIS FROM OZZY.......2005-02-05

I think this album shows Ozzy at his best level yet is not his best album it is a classic like Blizzard of Oz or DOAM although not made along with Randy Rhoads , Zakk Wylde shows a new aspect and a different sound for Metal Guitar and I believe this album comes to be the last Great Ozzy Osbourne, and the one thing to remark is the fact that Mr. Wylde dares to mix 2 very different sorts of music such as Metal and Country, by the way, on this album Robert Trujillo makes no appearance, its Mr, Mike Inez who makes tunes like No More Tears and their amazing bass lines possible. For the late Randy Castillo, thats true, the last Randy Castillo's studio album with Oz.

Considering Ozzy osbourne is now a complete muppet and nothing else but a bad joke, this album is a must have for any new fan.

4 out of 5 stars Bon mais.............2004-09-02

5 out of 5 stars HELLRAISER!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2004-04-26

This album is easily by far the greatest album Ozzy Osbourne has ever recorded. Unfortuanely "No More Tears" won't get the acclaim as say "The Blizzard of Oz" being that heavy metal was losing steam when this album was released."No More Tears" features Zakk Wylde on guitars, Robert Trujillo on bass, the late Randy Cadtillo on drums, and of course Ozzy Osbourne on vocals. Excellent songs such as No more Tears,Hellraiser, and Road to Nowhere make this album a no brainer to own for any Ozzy fan.

5 out of 5 stars No Sweat.......2006-01-29

Possibly the best non David Clayton-Thomas record by BS&T. The band remade themselves after Clayton-Thomas left, and on this record they realized their potential. Fans old and new will recognize it as BS&T, but the rock is harder edged and the jazz is more contemporary with less homage to the big band era and more of a reference to funk. Georg Wadenius (guitar}, "Blue" Lou Marini (woodwinds], and Larry Willis (keyboards) are outstanding and worth the price of the CD.

5 out of 5 stars An underrated marvel of a treasure.... finally released!!!.......2005-09-07

This is one of the most underrated albums in the history of Blood, Sweat & Tears. Finally it was released and I was ecstatic.

Jerry Fisher never got his due. With a voice as powerful as Clayton-Thomas and with as profound a blues influence, Fisher delivers on all the vocal cuts on this recording. Without stance or affectation Fisher delivers the goods.

The personnel in this version of the group is exceptional. Here we have Dave Bargeron, Larry Willis, Georg Wadenius, Tom Malone, Lou Marini, Bobby Colomby, Big Jim Fielder, Jerry Fisher and Lew Soloff. This particular unit melds their varying styles and influences more seamlessly than previous versions of the group.

Georg Wadenius is a remarkable with his unique style on guitar, musical sense and discretion. His vocals and playing definitely helped change the sound of the group toward something new. Years before George Benson, Georg melded vocals with guitar much more elegantly and fluently than Mr. Benson. With Georg it was more the voice as instrument in harmony with his guitar than voice over guitar. Georg can play so many different styles and has a remarkable economy when the piece calls for it. Definitely the best guitarist the band has ever had.

Larry Willis is another one who helped change the sound and tone of things with his modern electric keyboard approach that conjures Herbie Hancock sensibilities (they are both very close in age with similar influences). A strong arranger and marvelous soloist. He can really accompany a soloist well.

Lou Marini Jr. is stronger here than he was in New Blood, playiing tenor and soprano. He shines throughout. Tom Malone is every bit the equal of Lew Soloff on this recording. As powerful and perfect counterpart to Lew who is simply Lew Soloff on this. Those of you who are fans of the group know what I mean. Those of you, who are not, well Lew is a cat who can play anything and can solo with fire and virtuosity.

The choice of songs is eclectic. Some real bluesy rockers, one cover which is an exceptional cover of Traffic's "Empty Pages" which shows off Jerry Fishers power to good advantage. A strong progressive instrumental called "Inner Crisis" which shows off Georg Wadenius' uniqueness to great effect.

The group features some beautiful short instrumentals that segue nicely in both cases to some real rockers.

"Almost Sorry", "Empty Pages", "Back Up Against the Wall", "Inner Crisis", "Save Our Ship" are all real high points in the group's repertoire.

The arrangements are all top flight. The brass section that this group is known for is every bit the match for any version this group has ever had.

The arrangments make use of the new members quite well and without ever being clinical. Everything with the song in mind and in context.

"No Sweat" ranks right up there for me. The virtuosity matches the first two recording. The material is as varied and as interesting.

This one doesn't disappoint.

5 out of 5 stars Tears...of Joy!.......2005-08-24

I have always felt that next to the the first album ("Child Is Father To The Man"), "No Sweat" is the best BS&T album.
Exceptional musicianship (Wadenius, Bargeron & Willis in particular) combined with quality material make this a must have.
This realease sounds wonderful and once again Wounded Bird has done an exceptional job with the sound of this CD.
Highly recommeded !

5 out of 5 stars The best of the Jerry Fisher albums, finally on CD!.......2005-08-02

Thank goodness somebody finally saw the light of day and decided to release some of the later period B,S and T albums on CD! Wounded Bird Records has released no less than five of them, the last few recorded for the Columbia label, and all sound excellent to my ears! True, the band never was able to recapture the success of "You've Made Me So Very Happy" or "Spinning Wheel", but don't discount these albums either, as they all have something interesting to offer musically. They will no doubt make diehard fans of the band rejoice.

Personally, I am finally happy to have the Jerry Fisher era albums on CD. With the exception of New Blood, that was only previously available as a hard to find overseas import, none of these albums were ever available on CD before...and that's a shame. I am a particular fan of Jerry's voice, and always thought that it was a shame that none of his material with B,S and T ever hit it particularly big.

This album, No Sweat, is my favorite out of Jerry's work with the band. There's a really good mix of music on this...from a rocking version of Steve Winwood's Empty Pages...to the mellow and soulful My Old Lady...to the funky instrumental Inner Crisis, featuring a great guitar and voice solo from George Wadenius. Good stuff!

I recommend all of the Wounded Bird reissues whole heartedly! Hopefully somebody down the road will see the potential in releasing the Brand New Day album, thusly insuring B, S and T fans that their entire catalogue will finally find a lasting place in digital history.

Leonard Bernstein's New York is a cornucopia of tongue-in-cheek wit, unabashed romanticism, big-city loneliness, and intellectual irony. His well-known orchestral brilliance is beautifully represented under the stellar conducting of Eric Stern, but his underappreciated talents as a songwriter are what shine, elevating this recording to magic. The cast of American theater's best includes Mandy Patinkin wonderfully indulging his comic side; Judy Blazer and Donna Murphy, the shiniest lights on Broadway, demonstrating their extensive range as singing actresses; Audra McDonald making the difficult sound easy; and Richard Muenz and Dawn Upshaw singing elegantly. Most unforgettably pleasing are the trios "Ya Got Me" and "What A Waste." A great tribute to Bernstein's theater works. --Barbara Eisner Bayer

3 out of 5 stars Disappointing.......2007-03-13

I agree that this is a great collection. But I have to wonder: Am I the only one who got a bum copy of the CD? The songs are all mixed up on my copy, as in, most of the tracks are mislabeled: "A Quiet Girl" is really "Tonight", The Balcony Scene, printed as "Tonight" is really "Somewhere". The list goes on.

So, who do I kvetch to? I'd like a copy that isn't a complete mishmash.

1 out of 5 stars The Feel of New York.......2007-01-09

Having spent most of my working years in NYC, I felt this CD brought the city to me. Bernstein has allways been a favorite.

5 out of 5 stars The next stop once you've heard the originals.......2007-01-09

As a tribute to Bernstein on Broadway, this CD is hard to beat. All the singers are stars but of a generation, ro two, beyond the originals. Naturally here's been a change of style, and these renditions are more knowing, sophisticated, and at times ironic than the originals. On their own, Donna Murphy, Dawn Upshaw, and Mandy Patinkin, among others, are masters of their craft, but I hope anyone who loves LB will also seek out the original cast albums for all of his musicals, or the clesest one can get (On the Town was remade in the Fifties). Those recordings cast a unique spel, but the next stop is this marvelous CD.

5 out of 5 stars Bernstein's New York, it's a wonderful town!.......2002-01-15

And speaking of "Wonderful Town," it's so nice to hear music from this least appreciated of Bernstein's musicals. "What a Waste," "A Quiet Girl" and Audra McDonald's enchanting "A Little Bit in Love" have never sounded better. Donna Murphy burns the house down with the torchy "Ain't Got No Tears Left," and has fun with Patinkin and Blazer on the raucous "Ya Got Me." "One Hand, One Heart" sung by Dawn Upshaw and Richard Muenz is movingly rendered, as is Patinkin's wonderful delivery of an all-time Bernstein favorite, "Some Other Time." My only comlaint? Where is "I Can Cook Too?" A terrific recording.

4 out of 5 stars Great CD BUT..........2000-07-02

I loved this CD, but there was some things that kept it fromgetting four stars. First Mandy Patkin, I loved him in Sunday in The Park With George, also I have a CD of him singing yiddish songs all good, but in this CD I just don't like him. Like in the song "Come Up To My Place" I didn't like his voice and I never could quite see him as the character for that song. Also I would have liked to see (well actually "hear") some more of the dance numbers or overtures, I realize the main point of the CD was all the singers they put together, but the real highlight of the CD for me was the sections from Fancy Free, and Ballet At The Village Vortex from Wonderful Town. Also I liked "One Hand One Heart" a lot. Overall I would get this CD if you like Bernstein or any of these musicals, it is good listen, just not outstanding.

Majestic hymns sung with British accents. A great combination! I haven't noticed any objectionable sounds on my copy.

4 out of 5 stars hymns we sang in church.......2003-02-16

i grew up in a traditional presbyterian church that had a pipe organ. i wanted a cd of many of the hymns that we sang in church sung by a choir and accompanied by a pipe organ. this cd fulfilled my wishes perfectly. the hymns are performed in a very straight-forward fashion with no show-boating or excess flourishes which is exactly what i wanted. this is not gospel music but what i refer to as liturgical music to indicate that it is religious music but not gospel music. i would give it 5 stars but there is a slight hiss. other than that the recording quality is very good.

The term Irish tenor may be fraught with as many wrong-headed, anachronistic characterizations as any phrase in music. But Ronan Tynan not only returns here to the PBS airwaves that helped spread his fame as a member of the Irish Tenors trio, but he overturns a few clichés while delivering a live concert (recorded at the Royal Dublin Society in June 2002) that encompasses everything from Broadway and pop chestnuts to Italian operatic repertoire. Tynan rewards Irish traditions old and new (a medley of Brian Kennedy's and U2's "Life, Love & Happiness"/"I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For") and even makes left turns into folkie songstress territory (Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now," Sarah McLachlan's "Angel"). Backed by RTE Orchestra, the unlikely international star invests himself completely in all of it, his strong, crystalline voice playing off the traditions, while forging strong new bonds with the contemporary. --Jerry McCulley

3 out of 5 stars Simply Wonderful.......2005-08-29

This CD is just as great as the more recent "Ronan" CD. I clicked on 3 stars in error. This is a 5++ star album! His voice is sheer perfection, and the songs are wonderful. I also highly recommend the DVD of "The Impossible Dream," even though I didn't care at all for the London Community Choir who sing four songs. Note: The American version of the DVD doesn't have the 25-minute "Dr. Courageous" extra on it that the Irish version does. I saw him in concert last month, and besides having a voice that soars to the rafters, he is warm, funny and endearing.

4 out of 5 stars Music like this could make me a convert.......2005-08-17

I've always been a rock and roll fan since back in the 60's. Listening to this cd could easily convert me into a classical music fan as well. Wow what a voice.

5 out of 5 stars Powerful!.......2003-01-22

Having seen Ronan in person recently in the U.S., I was impressed first and foremost by his singing ability, and second by his stage presence and warmth. He is a special performer and human being. I am proud to be a Ronan Tynan fan.

4 out of 5 stars Tenor terrific.......2003-01-18

I am not a fan of this kind of music, but I bought this after hearing a few sound snippets at amazon and WoW! what a find. Excellent song selection, powerful singing, fine music quality for a live recording. Expand your horizons and enjoy. (get this wayno)

5 out of 5 stars oh molly oh.......2002-12-15

ronan tynan is a great role model for adults and children alike. he was born with a deformity and made a decision he would make something of himself, he had a goal and he surpassed it. no one puts as much of their heart into as he. he puts the audience into his songs, he makes us feel he is singing to each one of us individually. HE IS THE GREATEST IRISH TENOR I HAVE EVER HEARD, INCLUDING JOHN MC CORMAC the great irish tenor of the 30's

5 out of 5 stars a voice teacher and early music fan.......2006-10-29

John Dowland is valued today as the first English composer of solo songs, mostly because no one in England has exceeded his output; he may have been equalled by Purcell. However, his distinctive blend of poem, melody and harmony remains unsurpassed. In addition, by underplaying the role of the voice, the listener's attention is directed to the poem. This de-emphasis of the voice was favoured by Elizabethans who relished the new-minted language of Shakepeare's contemporaries. Dowland has his brighter side, but his music is preponderantly melancholy. "Lachrimae" became his signature tune. The accompanying group 'The Consort of Six' was a peculiarly English invention of the 1580's. Six different instruments-treble and bass viols, flute, lute, cittern and bandora; it was in fact the first orchestra. The titles of the instrumental pieces give us some idea of the wide range of society in which Dowland moved; very "upper class". John Dowland was typical of composers of that time in that he earned his living by playing, and he was very much sought after by both amateurs and professionals. Alfred Deller, the most legendary of countertenors issued the very essence of melancholy of the 17th century English songs. One has to mention that he was a primary influence in the development of the countertenor voice and as such was a performer who traveled all over the world showing to all that this voice was to be looked upon and accepted as an authentic and singular entity in itself, to which I totally agree. Therefore, he paved the way for an entire generation of singers such as James Bowman, Michael Chance, David Daniels, Gerard Lesne and Phillipe Jarousky to name only a few. This recording is a landmark in music; the singing is skilled; the accompaniment superb and the song selection significant.

5 out of 5 stars A marvelous interpretation!.......2005-07-05

This is a superb CD set. Deller is amazing and the Lute Songs have deep feelings, that send us to immemorial ages... If you love old sacred music you must have this Set.
