Having seen these guys live, I can attest to the pure pleasure that Joe Bear and the incredible musicians around him produce. If there were any comparisons to be made to music that is more widely known I would say this band runs in the same circles as The Flying Burrito Brothers and the band Lucinda Williams toured with a couple of years ago. This recording is a true document of the live performance, not some prettied-up studio creation. The songs are great-not a weak one in the bunch-, the singing is "country-soulful" (those who understand will understand!), and the band is a tight as new pointy-toed s**tkickers. This record deserves to be played, and played loud!
