About the Artist
Thump'r...? Yes, Thump'r! You won't forget the name and soon you will not be able to forget the music. "Since My Youth"- the length of time he's held on to one dream... now the title of his debut album. Blessed with an open virile mind and fertile heart, Thump'r enjoys the ability and emotional freedom to synthesize different genres into his own unique musical blend, often inviting the listener to journey with him outside the limitations of any given stereotypical comparison. His lyrical skills are undeniable, both as a seamless storyteller and as a master of the metaphorical matrix. Couple that with melodies thick and powerful enough to satisfy the veins of any musical addict looking for a fix, and we've got the makings of a new sonic poet on our horizon. So how does Thump'r write with such diversity, "Well," he says, "I write songs based on emotion; emotion is the key. Each part of the song: the music, the melody, and the lyrics must individually convey that same emotion, as a rule. If you can do that, then when they all come together you should be able to feel that emotion amplified. A great song will move people. You can feel the energy, with one person or thousands. Happy or sad, a great song will have the power to move you. I usually never set out to write a song in a specific style of genre, it just happens. I hear something that feels a certain way and I go with it. Sometime I start with a drumbeat. Other times it's a bass line or keyboard part, but most often I just play around on the guitar until I hear a feeling. A song title will pop into my head along with a melody that fits that feeling. Then I make up a theme or story line to drive the development of the lyrics." As a prolific songwriter, Thump'r smiles with pride knowing that his next four albums are basically assembled and ready for recording. His plan is to release one CD every nine to twelve months, with his sophomore album "Home Of My Heart" due to be released in the beginning of 2003. One fellow musician once noted "you write songs that everybody likes." When asked to comment about this quote Thump'r replied, "It was an obvious overstatement, of course, but it still remains one of the most genuine and supportive words of encouragement and praise I've ever received, and I'm thankful. This business can really grind on you. It's hard not to become doubtful or discouraged at times. Kind words like that can really make the difference when you're feeling down."

A Fritz Kreisler recording can always be recognized by the violinist's beefy, baritonal sonority, inimitable portamento, and communicative warmth. Most of the repertoire here consists of the short, encore pieces that prevailed in the era of 78rpm records, many penned or arranged by Kreisler, who was always on the lookout for memorable tunes. Familiar classics like the duets with John McCormack, and Schubert, Beethoven, and Grieg sonata collaborations with Rachmaninoff turn up alongside rare alternate takes and Kreisler's lone recording as a piano soloist in Dvořak's Humoresque.
