It is not OK to abuse ANYONE!!!.......2003-12-10

This song has a great message. It reminds us that not only do the women who are abuse suffer, but their children also. I was physically abused and my daughter has many emotional scars from what WE went through.

It is never OK to abuse anyone! We must get the message out somehow that women are being abuse every day....with or without children....and it must stop. Any effort to support this is a good one!

Is Abuse OK if a Woman Has No Children? Please Read........2003-06-25

This song, even though inspired and well-intended, left me asking this question. You always hear about the children of abuse and now label the woman of abuse "the baby's mama" but what about the abused woman without children? Also, this label of "the baby's mama" inforces the thought that a woman is nothing more than a Husband's-Wife (Mrs. John Smith) or a "Baby's Mama"...doesn't she have a name, an identity and a life of her own? Or, is she only an extension of her husband or a breeder of her children?

Very moving piece about a true life experience. Really makes one feel her pain and anguish. Can not wait to hear the whole CD.

Teresa has managed to take what thousands of abused mothers are
feeling and put into words. A cry for help seldom heard.
Not only are women abused, but too often those women have small children and are overlooked. Finally someone has remembered the mothers. If you know a child, you know a mother. If you love a child, love it's mother. Men need to know, they don't just hurt
the woman, they Hurt the Baby's Mama....the mama that cares for them, loves them and raises them.

Teresa released this 9 song CD at the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence Convention. It has a variety of music genres: Traditional Country, Crossover, Pop, and Blues. "Hot Rod Hearts" co-written by her brother Bob, is hard hitting crossover. The signature song, "Don't Hurt the Baby's Mama" has caltapulted her into keynote speaking, and Teresa and her husband, Charles, merged their two projects his award winning 1971 Barracuda (Mopar Muscle Magazine and 1st Place Winner at Dallas AutoRama) and her mission of peace to start an annual charity event that benefits local shelters and counseling centers. This CD is great listening from the hard-charging "Hot Rod Hearts" to the moving and thought-provoking "Don't Hurt the Baby's Mama". Teresa delivers country and blues tunes with a voice strong, clear and true. A truly talented vocalist. Teresa, when are you going on tour?

Teresa Burgess-Morris has a great, strong classic country voice. That, together with her fabulous ability to turn a story into a song, will keep you listening to this CD over and over. I especially loved Don't Hurt the Baby's Mama, even though it brought me to tears, and every song brings true life experiences to you in an unforgetable way. I highly recommend this CD to anyone who enjoys country music the way it should be done!
