Classic Albums can't be Beat.......2007-05-23

This cd is awsome! They showcase Joan Jett in her prime and to have both of these in one package is incredible. From start to finish this music delivers. Music just doen't come any better than this.

Although the music is good, the video part is ok, why does Joan Jett albums keep going in and out of print? It's ridiculous. These are probably her 2 best cds.

Good, but nothing special.......2006-07-05

It is obvious listening to 1989's Misspent Youth that Shy (called Shy England for the album's US release) was running low on ideas. The band sounds good, and Tony Mills's distinct voice is as strong as ever, but the band seemed to embrace as many hair metal clichés as possible for this album. There's not a song on the album that couldn't have appeared on a Poison or Warrant album. Tony Mills's voice, which is remarkably similar to TNT's Tony Harnell, is the only element on Misspent Youth that really stands out. That's not to say Misspent Youth is a bad album. It's a solid hard rock/hair metal disc, but the band was/is capable of better. A lot of bands in this genre hit the wall at some point (for most it seemed to happen in 1993). Fortunately Shy rebounded and released better albums since this one.

Follow up: Earlier this year, Tony Mills was selected to replace Tony Harnell in TNT. If anyone can do it, Mills can.

What can I say about Tony Mills' voice? Honey poured over thunder is what comes to mind. Polished vocals as always but with a little growl a la Ratt...just for good measure. The guitar work from Steve Harris is intense. For those fans of Shy, this is quite a leap from the Shy of old. A bit more aggressive. Think "Break Down the Walls" (Excess All Areas) on a regular basis. Really tight. Reason I only give it 4 stars is that after listening to "When the Love is Over" (Excess...) I consider the ballads on this album to be a little weak. Aside from that, it's a great piece of work. For those of you air guitar virtuosos and metal heads out there you won't be disappointed. Great album indeed.

LONG LIVE HARD ROCK.......2005-11-26

excellent band, stop saying that they need a little help with the songwriting, hard rock and glam metal its only having fun, is not that serious as other types of metal, the voice is awesome, the drums, the guitars and the bass also, i like a lot this band and i thnik they should be more bands like this in our days because glam and hard rock is almost dead except for the big bands, LONG LIVE FOREVER HARD ROCK

"Give it all you Got", "Money", and "After the Love is Gone" are the only decent songs on this album. Lead singer Tony Mills has a decent enough voice, but their songwriting could use some work.

overall not a bad release. still, it doesn't hold one candle to the magic of "Bad Reputation".

No Road Runner here, but lots of fiddle.......2000-11-26

Everyone pretty much agreed at the time(mid-'84)that this wasn't one of JJ's best records, and time has been no kinder. The reviewer for Creem Magazine said about "Push & Stomp": 'It does neither'. He was right. "I Got No Answers", however, is probably Joan's best song(next to "Nitetime" from ALBUM)and "Hold Me" is a nice ballad(although Joan herself dissed it a few years later in a magazine article). Not the best place to begin a Joan Jett CD collection--even the bonus tracks are rote.

If this CD is the glorious result, then one can only wish that more rock stars "misspent" their youth the way Joan Jett did.

This one really rocks! My very favorite Joan Jett album. Every song on here is fantastic. Cherry Bomb and Road Runner are my favorites. No CD collection would be complete without this. A must for driving and just plain rockin' out!

One of my favorite Joan albums, Glorious Results is a gem of a rocker- featuring Cherry Bomb (an awesome remake of the Runaways' classic- AKA her first band- check them out!) and the teen-angst favorite Frustrated. You won't have any problem getting into this record- no matter what your mood.
