About the Artist
KEVIN O'CONNELL, tenor, has appeared in works ranging from opera and choral ensemble to Broadway musicals and musical reviews. He is a frequent soloist with Ensemble Vocalise, a group of talented, Long Island based vocalists dedicated to performing recitals ranging from opera and operetta, to art songs, to Broadway and popular songs. He frequently performs as a soloist with the Babylon Chorale in such works as Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, J. S. Bach's Magnificant and the Mozart Requiem. On LI, he has appeared in works ranging from opera and choral ensemble to Broadway musicals and reviews. His opera roles include Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi, Sam in Susannah and Frederick in Pirates of Penzance. His musical comedy repertoire includes Fiddler on the Roof, Cabaret, Big River, Finian's Rainbow, 1776, The Most Happy Fella, and Wonderful Town. As a boy, he appeared in The Magic Flute at New York City Opera, premiered Bernstein's Chichester Psalms with the composer conducting, and sang Britten's War Requiem with the New York Philharmonic.
