About the Artist
Frank Dean
Singer-songwriter Frank Dean has been performing for over 25 years. Before Sindacato, he co-founded several critically-acclaimed bands included Blue De Ville, Hillbilly Central, and American Flyers. His songs have been performed and recorded by over 60 artists. The self-described "veteran of every honky tonk, dive, and skull orchard you can think of" hopes to someday help "pull country music out of the vast hole of dung it's hurled itself into for financial gain." The critics have said: "The real deal. A remarkable songwriter." Marc Allan - Indianapolis Star "Every songwriter has something to say. Frank Dean has something worth listening to." Mike Redmond - Indianapolis News "Powerful, infectious hooks. One of the finest songwriters around." Dean Lozow - Nuvo Magazine
Musicians have said: "Brilliant songwriting." Richard Bennet - Mark Knopfler Band "White People on Alcohol, now that's a picture." Webb Wilder "One of my favorite songwriters anywhere." Andra Faye - Saffire

Born in Youngstown, Ohio and drumming since 1964. It's been a long way from Youngstown to Indianapolis, each turn realizing how many different people influenced my career behind the drums: family to teach me real music comes from the heart, friends along the way who sparked the desire to pursue my dreams, and all the stars (Ringo and Levon included). It's still a long way, and with this current association, I can once again feel the enthusiasm of believing we just enjoy playing. I'm very fortunate to be surrounded by these guys - very talented in their own inspired ways and somehow managing to push on with a fire, not just that spark.
Jon Martin
Jon Martin is the most recent addition to Sindacato with one year under his belt. Jon was born and raised on the southeast side of Indianapolis in Shelby county. Piano and drum lessons were followed by guitar lessons at the age of 13. More instruments came into the picture and now half of the stage is filled with "Jon's stuff". Owners of obscure instruments and any left-handed gear are encouraged to contact Jon. Donations are accepted.
Influences and recommended listening: Jimmy Vaughan with The Fabulous Thunderbirds - Butt Rocking James Burton with Ricky Nelson John Hartford - Aeroplane The Band Solas with Seamus Egan Dave Alvin - Interstate City Lyle Lovett Ben Harper
Special thanks to Deering Banjos, Elixir Guitar Strings, and La-Si-Do.

I was born in 1959 and raised in Sidney, Ohio, a small town north of Dayton. My dad was the minister of music at the Nazarene church where his dad was the minister. My parents and grandparents were all involved in church, whether it was preaching, singing, leading the hymns, playing the organ or watching babies in the nursery. At home we listened to southern gospel quartet records by groups like The LeFevers, The Happy Goodman Family, The Blackwood Brothers and The Speers, and listened to country/western music on the AM radio and watched TV shows like The Good Ship Zion and The Gospel Jubilee and Hee Haw. In 1993, Frank Dean put together a band to support his solo album, a rock oriented project called Empty Thrones. Frank hired me on bass and vocals, even though he knew he was getting a so-so bass player who sang better than he played. That band was The Breakers, and over the next year and a half we played Frank's songs, along with rock and roll, hillbilly, and Southern rock tunes from "Suzie Q" to "Pop A Top" to "Twenty-four Hours at a Time" and "Cowgirl in the Sand."
When Frank was ready to record again in 1995, the Breakers had been disbanded for nearly a year. He had written some traditional country and Appalachian folk songs that called for spare, acoustic accompaniment. He called me to play bass and sing, and Jason Roller to play fiddle, guitar, mandolin, and banjo. Jason had sat in numerous times with the Breakers. This recording began as Frank's second solo
