Editorial Reviews

"Everything about this CD just screams country. While country may not be my favorite style of music, I have to judge every CD on it's quality, not it's style, & this CD is quite simply put, pretty stunning. If only all country music was like this."

Product Description
With a name like Tonya Rae, she has to be Country. But It's the incredible voice she was born with, not the name she was given that is getting this Santa Cruz, California native national and international airplay with her recent self-titled release Tonya Rae. Her album is selling so fast off of the shelves, that record stores are having a hard time keeping up with the demand. Her first single, I've Been There Too is a sentimental song that any male or female can relate too. It went to #1 on the independent charts. But surprises were in store as her second single, Coffee's on the Table, a fun upbeat song that gets the crowd laughing was released a little early by KOFI Country FM 104.5 in Montana and shot immediately to #1. This was an unprecedented event. It remained in that same position for 8 weeks, ousting out some heavy veterans. Last week, Tonya Rae hit #1 again with Convince Me. She has another single that is in the top 40 on the independent charts entitled The Best of Me. With 3 #1 singles, and 8 singles in the top 40 in just 5 months, this little country girl is a sure fire hit!

Internationally she is #7 in Spain with River Of Love, ousting LeAnn Rimes who is #10 and Clint Black who is #8, and she has reached the top 10 with Coffee's on the Table and I've Been There Too. Her songs are played all over the world, including Japan, Italy, Australia, and the Netherlands, with listeners clamoring for more. DJ's are swamped with calls asking who she is and where they can get the CD.

Singing in front of crowds since she was 10, Rae has a voice that is smooth, sweet and controlled, and her style is definitely a new brand of Country. She gives Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors (her trademark song) a fresh sound without compromising its Country roots by turning it into rock 'n' roll. The keyboard-based music on this CD flows from the slow, jazzy Convince Me, to the upbeat fun of Your Coffee's on the Table. In the Internet competition BattleNet, Rae's sultry song, Perfect Strangers won the title against Exotic Pet with a two-to-one margin. Perfect Strangers can be found on her first release, a five-song CD entitled, Downhome Girl.

Fans of any musical style, who attend one of Rae's concerts, will be treated to a high-energy performance and crowd-pleasing personality. She's a rare talent that can bring laughter to the heart and tears to the eyes. And you say you don't like Country Music? Give her a listen anyway, you may find you like what you hear. She has uniquely blended a style of music that is all her own, but one that does not travel to far from the threshold to confuse a listeners ear. She is embraced by the Country, Rock, Pop, and Jazz market, something no other Country artist has ever done to date.

Don't miss the opportunity to see her, or you will miss out on a show of a lifetime! Rae was in San Diego, California as the sole national representative of Country Music at Camp Pendelton's Beach Bash, which drew over 22 thousand Marines. She was a little concerned when she found out she would have to follow the Bay Watch TV gang. "Yikes!" was the reaction Rae had to that news. But she had no problem getting the crowd's mind off the bikini-clad bunch.
